I had a great time for my birthday. My waiter was nice and very helpful with choosing the right steak for my appetite. The only thing is I ask for a steak well done and they brought it out with still a little pinkish inside as I don’t like eating nothing not cooked all the way. Every bite should be delicious for the price and it wasn’t. Actually it wasn’t even hot it was medium warm. I ask for a side order of mash potatoes and that took so long I finished my steak before receiving it and it came out kind of cold like it had been sitting around in the kitchen because no one knew where it belonged. View was excellent got a chance to sit by the outside cliff view. Those seats are high demand I would prefer to go on a less busy day like during the week instead of weekend. Overall I would go back but with a different guess. This place is too expensive to not get a chance to enjoy 100%. Next time I’ll make sure my steak is what I requested well done not half done.. oh and my drink was great along with the bartenders.

The waiter Riley was amazing and helpful. The food was really good and the view was great! They ran out of some things but Riley recommended other options that were great. I would definitely go again!!

Be prepared to wait 30min or more past reservation time. A very disappointing experience. And it appears this is a common occurrence according to google reviews. The restaurant and management know and still over book guests without proper preparation. We also felt pushed by our waiter to order things. We had to wait close to 60 min after deserts for our entrées. Food was average, steaks were cold, which made the long wait both aggravating and disappointing. We lost our appetite. Not acceptable. Restaurant is too crowded, too noisy, kids crying, and not enough staff to serve. Severe failure of management. Profit over service.

Great Food, Disappointing Service I absolutely loved all the tasty food—everything we ordered was full of flavor and beautifully presented. However, the service left much to be desired. I was seated at a broken table near Table 17, and although several servers seemed to notice, nothing was done about it. I even mentioned it to our waitress, but she didn’t seem to care. It really took away from what could have been a perfect dining experience. With such a stunning location and delicious menu, I expected more professionalism and attention to detail from the staff. Hoping for a better experience next time

Castaway Burbank is undeniably a beautiful space with potential. However, ambiance alone can’t carry an experience…especially not when the fundamentals of service, food, and hospitality fall short. With better management oversight and a renewed focus on the guest experience, Castaway could live up to its location and aesthetic. For now, it feels more like a missed opportunity than a must-visit.

We go here for the view and ambience. But the food is so so and it is overpriced. My hubby had the half chicken and got stomach issues that evening and this morning. I had the miso fish with black rice and it was oily, and the vegetables and the rice itself was soaked with oil and some sweetener. Our server, however, was the best and she took care of the 5 of us really well. The music was very loud and we requested kindly three times to lessen the volume so we could hear each other. The manager came and lessened the volume through her iPhone remote control, which we were thankful but some minutes later, we noticed it was back to the regular volume because we could not hear each other again. This restaurant is popular for some people, but having visited so many restaurants in LA and Orange County, this is a repeat only because of the view, but not for the food at all. And, the reception or welcoming desk can be a bit more welcoming. These were younger people (3-4 of them) who were talking among themselves and seemed to pay more attention to themselves rather than the customers arriving.

Last night my girl friends and I had a reservation at Castaway. One person in my party had never been there before and so we waited a little extra in order to get a table outside. While we waited, we sat at the bar and ordered some cocktails. The bartenders were friendly, engaging, and treated us like we were VIPs. Grayson especially went above and beyond for us and we even had the chance to try their charcuterie board which was delicious. Once we were lead to our table, it turned out the wait was well worth it - our table was perfect and very comfortable. Our server Andrew again went above and beyond for us. We had their delicious cornbread and roasted brussels sprouts before the meal. Andrew answered our questions and made excellent recommendations for us with our meal choices. Everyone was happy with their food - the steaks were perfectly prepared and the salads were delicious. We had the chance to enjoy the view after dinner. It was a perfect ladies' night out. Again - big shout outs of thanks to Grayson and Andrew for taking such good care of us. Excellent service like that deserves celebration. We definitely will be back.

Reservation requests not noted, took 25 min to get seated with a reservation, waiter took another 15 minutes to ask us for drinks. Then took another 15 minutes to actually get drinks or even water. Tried to order 2/3 of the specials and was told they were out as we were ordering, did not intro with that.

We’ve eaten here a few times. One previous time the service was extremely slow; two other times had random service hiccups but were ultimately fine. This last time, however, I don’t think the service could’ve been worse if they’d actively tried. We waited 15+ minutes to be seated (we had a reservation). Our drinks took quite a while to arrive. 30 minutes after we placed our main order, the manager came by to say they’d run out of the filet and would we like to pick another steak. We received no food for 30-45 minutes after that (we’d had 1 appetizer very early on), and when it came it was only the steak; we had to ask for the sides we’d ordered. My husband’s steak was undercooked and mine was overcooked. The manager came by again to acknowledge we’d “had to wait a bit” for our food and offered us a free round of drinks; we declined and she comped the drinks we’d already ordered, then rushed away before we could say anything further. The server tried to get my husband’s steak cooked more but the kitchen had closed, so he comped us that as well. Our server throughout was very nice and apologetic, albeit clearly overbooked as he wasn’t able to keep track of whether we’d received food or not. On the way out, to top it all off, there was no toilet paper in the women’s bathroom. We came expecting a nice celebratory meal and instead experienced a 2.5-hour disaster. I find this restaurant to be poorly run and unable to manage the number of tables at capacity. We won’t be returning, despite the food being generally good.

I take my godfather here every year for Father's Day and it never disappoints. We sat outside with gorgeous fuse of the sunset in the city. Food is always delicious. Service is always. Excellent vibes are always chill relaxed we will definitely be back.
