   We recently visited Castaway in Burbank to celebrate my son’s acceptance to a major university, and the entire evening was a wonderful experience. Perched in the hills with sweeping views of the San Fernando Valley, the restaurant offers a stunning backdrop that adds to its vibrant and upscale atmosphere. Even on a particularly busy night, the ambiance felt special—perfect for marking an important milestone. The food did not disappoint: from tender, expertly prepared steaks to fresh, flavorful seafood and creative sides, every dish was beautifully presented and satisfying. The combination of exceptional cuisine and scenic surroundings made the evening truly memorable. What stood out just as much as the food was the impeccable service. Our waiter, Ekow, was exceptionally polite, friendly, and attentive, especially with our party that included two young, hungry preteens. Despite the busy night, he checked on us regularly and made sure everything was handled smoothly. When our food was slightly delayed—understandable given the crowd—Ekow took it upon himself to speak with management on our behalf, even though we hadn’t raised any concerns. That level of care and professionalism showed his commitment to providing excellent service. His thoughtful attention made us feel genuinely valued and added a personal touch to an already fantastic evening.

   I had originally planned to have my family join me for my birthday at your restaurant. A friend took me there for lunch yesterday and I will no longer be coming back. We had a reservation and arrived on time but we’re made to wait 15 minutes to be seated another 15 minutes to have anyone talk to us or take our order and we had to talk to three different people before we finally got refills on our drinks and extra ketchup. It just seems below standard service and customer experience for such a prestigious and not inexpensive restaurant.

   I’ve been here a few times and have enjoyed the experience every time. The ambiance is lovely. The place is clean. The service is good - servers are patient, attentive and helpful. The food is delectable! It’s great for families, date night or special events.

   Server could’ve checked on our table more regularly. Staff was not efficient at clearing plates when we were done. Food was generally average. Nothing stood out. I believe I went for dinner once and perhaps the menu was a bit different as the food was better then. Unless the menu has changed. We ordered the whole fish and we made it clear we were sharing everything and it didn’t come with serving utensils.

   Brought my girlfriend here around 8pm. Great place. We had lots of fun and enjoyed all the food. Usually I write reviews more detailed, but it was such an amazing experience that I’m honestly left satisfied enough to not even bother to try and get it out lol.
