Amazing location and amazing staff. Went here four our anniversary
Great service from our server Nick. The atmosphere was fresh and the effect of the remodel was outstanding.
Great views! Great food and service .
The restaurant has a great ambiance. I would definitely recommend to sit outside and enjoy the amazing views.
It's been a while since my return but I must simply say that all is still the same here. Great ambiance, service, and food.
Great food, wonderful views! Noisy when seated near the band!
Sit outside for the best ambiance.
Fantastic dinner. The remodel changed everything. Well done!
Loved this place, the views are breathtaking and the food is amazing! Great date spot!!!
We had a great time! Only suggestion we would make is for the server to ask what brings you in today. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Was kind of looking forward to the writing on the dessert but we didn't bring it up. lol
Came here with a group of friends for my birthday and it was really fun. We shared a bunch of appetizers, including the big cheese and meat platter (which is delicious!) and all greatly enjoyed all the nods to the theme (the actual movie, Castaway). I don’t want to give anything away since it’s more fun to discover it all on your own, but one thing I’ll say is you should order the shrimp cocktail. Just for the presentation.
Great place to go for brunch. Very little vegetarian options. The bottomless mimosas are great! The view makes the prices worth it.
This was a wonderful experience! My sister and brother in law where visiting from East Coast for their 25th anniversary. Everything was perfect!
I can not stress this enough how awful the food was. My moms chicken was pink all the way through. She send it back and we had to be somewhere so she wasn't even able to eat it there. She took it to go and the next day when she was warming it up IT WAS STILL PINK!!!. Undercooked chicken is super dangerous and I can't believe they can't tell if the chicken is ready to be served or not. My dad's steak was BURNT on the outside and super pink in the inside and My sister fish was over fried sooo not a very good experience.
Hi, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. On behalf of the team, I would like to apologize for the disappointment with the chicken entree that was ordered. Providing local fresh ingredients is important to our Chef and we use a free range Pasturebird chicken that is sourced from Temecula. We will make sure to share your comments with the Chef and his team. We hope to see you again soon! Best Regards, Guest Relations
only one option for veggies and one option for Gluten free people as well on the brunch menu, small portions for large prices. Food was good but would love to see more of a variety or options for Gluten. The Gluten bread is great but it can only be matched with one option - and no substitutions were available per our server. I may go back for cocktails but probably not for a meal.
The view is the saving grace.
The night view is spectacular. It's a good place to take out-of-town guests. We sat inside on a cold, rainy night. The dry aging room and wine "cellar" made the place classy, plus the see through window to the kitchen preparation was fascinating. Now to the food. The 4-item cheese and meat charcuterie option ($21) was very interesting. You get to choose from a list of about 11 meat and cheese items. Although, I wish they provided more than 4 slices of toast. We ordered the under-dressed and under-whelming organic green salad (for $14) and the different tasting wedge salad ($13), which had ranch dressing instead of bleu cheese dressing. For the main dish, we ordered the Salmon ($32) - good relative value; the Bone in Ribeye ($44) excellent tasting but overpriced; and the filet ($40) for the precut 5 pieces. For the sides, we had the Yukon french fries - nicely done, the potato puree - acceptable, and the roasted brussel sprouts - very good flavor. Overall, a nice evening, but over priced and the food was only so-so. Go for the experience, not the value.
Very nice evening. Charcuterie was the best!
The reservation didn't start well. We had a 7:30pm reservation. Was on track to show up at 7pm (early) until we encountered an immense amount of traffic at entry to Castaways. It took a half hour to get up to the valet staff. We finally got there to learn they had been out of parking spots for 15 minutes. Not one of the 5 members of the valet staff had the thought to come down the hill and tell drivers they should park elsewhere. They simply waited at the door for either departing patrons or cars to (finally) come up the hill only to be disappointed with no parking spaces.
Once inside restaurant (on time, actually) we were not seated because we were told "everyone is missing their reservation due to problems with parking".
The wait staff was excellent, food good, even if over-priced.
"everything communicates". I find it interesting that Castaways hasn't figured this out and would prefer to have their guests start the evening with a poor experience in trying to get their car parked.
Disappointing experience, even though the waitstaff really did a nice job, once we were seated.
Beautiful place - great service - good food. We loved it and will definitely come again.
My dry aged steak was supposed to be medium rare but came more well done and burnt ... so I couldn’t eat most of it as I felt I’m eating charcoal... but the rest of the dishes were so good , I didn’t complain and let it ruin our special evening.
Great view awesome food! I really like the view at night! You can see the night view of downtown LA.
Awesome experience. We ate on the patio, which I honestly think was warmer than inside! Incredible view, good food.
I really love their fillet and New York steak medium rare. Not much side dish to choose from.
Ambiance is lovely. Food used to be a little better during summer months, the octopus and calamari appetizers were a bit overcooked and not as flavorful. Bone marrow was good per the men in our group and the branzino was also tasty. Service provided by Sebastian was excellent.
Great dining experience!
Great food! Great service and beautiful views
The service and food were phenomenal.
Thank you for providing a very memorable Thanksgiving experience.
7:45 reservation, seated at 8:30. We were not given the “gift” or champagne that all other guests were offered on Thanksgiving. We were seated in a room outside of all the other guests, it was below 60 and I had to get a beenie out of my car. Food arrived to the table at 9:40. Drawn butter had hardened before we could dip our freezing cold lobster. When I asked to speak to the manager and told her of our disappointment as we still did not have food and I was so cold I was miserable. She said “good thing the food is here now”. However it was all cold, $165 tomahawk COLD, 3 lobster tails and butter COLD, broccoli COLD. She sent 3 Moscow mules to table, however after waiting 2 hours, my BF and I had already plenty to drink and needed to drive, and the 3rd, was for my 15 yr old? I said “Do you realize you just served a minor?” The response “so you don’t want it?” No what I wanted was a hot meal on thanksgiving. The waitress was embarrassed by her handling of the situation and said she got permission to give us 10% off from another manager. $500 meal, -$50. Sure didn’t make up for destroying our holiday dinner.
A fantastic experience. The food never fails to please.
Great place for a nice romantic dinner, renovated space very comfortable, dinner food was great, good selection of wines. Great service.
Thanksgiving dinner was fabulous. My only complaint was that the music was way to loud and inappropriate for Thanksgiving. Surrounding tables spoke way to loud to compensate. I have no desire or need to hear conversations from surrounding parties.
Restaurant is beautiful.
What a wonderful and special experience. The environment and food were perfect. I highly recommend a visit.
Thanksgiving brunch is amazing..... been here multiple times, every time I been happy with awesome food and service
I don’t usually do buffets but this was a special thanksgiving brunch with a huge variety and selection of food. Our server Kayla was absolutely wonderful and the view was spectacular. Looking forward to going back for dinner at some point.
Had to wait 30 minutes past reservation time. As soon as I complained, manager jumped in and found us a table. He was fabulous and accommodating.
I was so disappointed in the experience. We have gone to Castaways many times with large groups for brunch and it was always very nice, delicious and the view, wow. However Thanksgiving was extremely expensive and an extra $22 for bottomless mimosas, that actually stop at 3, was adding insult to injury. My family of 6 went, I had talked up how wonderful it was going to be ( my husband did not like the $80 price tag per person. Then we arrived, shuttled to back entrance to a ballroom. Our table was in the corner next to curtains, and waitstaff doors. It was ugly, loud, and the food, mediocre. So for $689 meal for six, wasnt worth it, by a LONGSHOT! I will never come there again for a special occasion again. I feel fleeced!!
Thanksgiving dinner brunch was beautiful to look at, family ambience with energy, and an amazing variety of traditional foods with new takes on old favorites. The Green Room was entirely filled with desserts - love the selection, though sweets were a tad dry. Overall, loved it, and planning to return soon!
Magnificent! Lovely view, food, and a serving size that allowed for leftovers
Amazing food....all good... great view of city.............. wonderful.......,,💗😘💞👍😍😊🌼🌸🌺🥰😎🌻👏
