Great food and service however open table is for Prospect location which is closed we went to Jeffersonville location after we found out
Wonderful gem of a restaurant in the Old 4th Ward area of Atlanta. Absolutely a great and fun experience!
First time trying this place and it didn’t disappoint. Sad to hear it it’s closing and that we waited so long to visit. Hope they are able to come back.
First time here, what a pleasant surprise! great atmosphere--casual but nice, and excellent food. I had the poached swordfish, friends had the mushroom/farro dish (said it was the best ever), others had the chicken (make sure you want fried and fat...delicious but not for everyone). Servers great. Will definitely recommend.
I'm vegetarian so there weren't too many healthy options for me, but I still enjoyed what I got and I loved the atmosphere
The food was good, but not great. My favorite was the brisket. The service was friendly, but everything was slow. The front of the house seemed to be short-staffed; I can't speak to why the kitchen was slow. Ask them to take the white wine out of the freezer before you order it, though. Riesling was served at "frosted beer mug" levels of chill which is unfortunate. The automatically added gratuity was hard to spot, because it was listed as if it was another food item instead of being broken out as a separate line next to the total. That seemed a bit weird to me, but it could be a quirk of their ticketing system, so I didn't worry about it too much. Just something to watch out for if you are a larger party (five or more).
Bottom line: I would be willing to eat here again if I was in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.
Really enjoyed it. Service was super friendly and attentive, even though we took a long time to order food. But what we eventually ordered was delicious. Great atmosphere for a date or a nice dinner out with friends.
Drinks were delicious - food was just okay. The brisket was fatty and dry, and the steak my boyfriend ordered was not anything special.
Our service was phenomenal!
Went to Cast Iron for Valentine's Day and we had a great experience. Our server, Hanna, was very friendly and made great recommendations. We will definitely be going back. The atmosphere was elegant but cool, right in the heart of Inman Park. My lady was very pleased with the entire evening.
Service took way too long. Literally 45 min before we got drinks!
delicious food in a clean and relaxed, yet modern setting. Friendly staff and lovely coctails
Neighborhood favorites for us. Menu always a bit different. Bartender fabulous!
Very good food and service. A little small for a larger party.
Went here for New Year's Eve dinner with my whole family and everyone enjoyed what they ate. Great ingredients that were accentuated by other great ingredients without being too fussy. We had a great time eating without feeling rushed and we didn't have to shout to hear each other. Would definitely go back next time we're in ATL. Enjoyed the playful wine list too!
Awesome!! The best!!
We love Cast Iron, it's a perfect neighborhood spot and only made a reservation to ensure we'd have a table for NYE celebration with friends (complete with complimentary champagne)! We're there often and have gotten to be familiar with many of the staff, the head chef, and his wife. Familiar dishes with an inventive twist, and the type of spot that feels cozy in the winter and fresh in the summer.
Visited Cast Iron again and this time it failed on all food items and the customer service is horrible. They seem to have no management and no one to expedite drinks, wine, or food. Everything seemed to take a long time and they did not apologize for any issues. No manager came to talk with us after we had to send back one dish and both entrees were not of good quality. The general attitude perceived by us was we really don't care if you enjoy your experience or not. Recommend that you spend your money elsewhere.
We had a wonderful meal on Saturday evening at Cast Iron. The cocktail menu was creative and our drinks were delicious. Food is a fun take on southern classics and we each enjoyed a different and incredible entree. The smoked fried chicken was perfectly cooked, falling off then bone but surrounded by delicious, crunchy skin and crust. The steak was cooked perfectly and the accompanying kale was tender with a fabulous smoked sour cream dressing. My shrimp pasta was spicy an flavorful and highlighted the sweetness of the shrimp. Importantly, the service was fun, helpful, and attentive making it a great experience. We will be back!!
Second time I’ve been here and the food did not disappoint. The wild shrimp was fantastic. My friend had the loudmouth mushrooms and was equally pleased with a delicious vegetarian dish. Service was also solid.
What a fantastic meal! I had one of the most interesting cocktails I’ve had in months, a lovely octopus starter, and pork three ways. The server was solicitous and went out of her way to walk us through the wine options and pairing possibilities.
Our second visit to Cast Iron. The first a couple months ago blew us away. Our new favorite restaurant! Recommended it to friends. Was anxious to bring other friends, which we did Saturday night. So disappointing this time around. Food was kind of blah. Not awful. Just kind of off. Not the kapow we experienced the first time. Dessert we had the first time was an all time top 3. Spicy peanut brittle sundae. Wow! This time the ice cream flavor was some weird curry kumquat thing. Spicy peanut brittle with curry kumquat? What? And just a little nibble of the peanut brittle on the side. We are so sad. CI. You were going to be our new fave atl restaurant. Now I don't know that we'll be back.
My first time here and was hoping for better. Nothing was terribly wrong with the food, but nothing really wowed me either. Most dishes were a bit too salty (and I love salt), except the burger which was under-seasoned. If not for the over salting, the fries and duck confit ravioli would have been wonderful. The flavors were almost there, but each dish had something that was just a bit off. The ambiance was trendy and cozy and the service was good. I would come here again if others wanted to try it out, but with so many competing great restaurants in the area, I wouldn't make Cast Iron my choice.
I wanted a gourmet, unique spot in a cool neighborhood. Cast iron fits the bill. Excellent food, unique preparation, great service, and tavern coziness. The ribs were the biggest hit. We will be back. Thanks.
Excellent food and wonderful service! First time there and will be a regular spot!
We were here the night of the grand opening last year and are regulars (1x per month in average). However, this visit was disappointing. While the staff remains top notch, the food was less than quality that will be needed to survive in this very picky neighborhood. The brisket was simply a poor cut of beef — yes, brisket is by nature fatty but my goodness this was horrible. The French fries were simply ‘off target’ — tough and flavorless. Completely different from two weeks ago. Please improve we w at you to survive!
Service was very slow, but staff was nice about it. Food very good.
We had a fantastic brunch at cast iron. The homemade donuts were fabulous! The biscuit was OK. The wine selection was a little eclectic. The brisket was delicious. My daughter loves her pancake.
Food was extraordinary, dessert was one of the best I have ever had. Great cocktails, atmosphere, service. Only complaint was that the French press coffee at the end of the night wasn't done right (too weak), but I'm sure if we had sent it back they would have made it right. Highly recommend!!!
my only concern was all of the bourbon drinks were spiked with too much bitters. We tried an old fashioned and a another one with lemon and both drinks were too much bitters for a few of us at the table. Another person at our table had a gin cocktail that was delicious.
Food was great, atmosphere was great...would recommend.
Everything we ordered was so delicious, I️ can’t wait to go back!
I thought the food was just okay.
We were told if we ever get to Atlanta to try this restaurant out, we would not be disappointed. We tried it out and it was just like the person said, GREAT! We were in downtown Atlanta and worth the 8 minute drive. It was in a cute suburb and easy to park. Atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. We were greeted with a smile and had a great waitress. They had a wide Varity of beer, wine and mix drinks. Menu was eclectic. Different options that were pleasing to the palate . Very tasty and filling. You don't get a lot of food, but like the menu stated, quality of food is what they are known for. You will walk away full and pleasantly surprised. Perfect for date or special evening with a friend.
Wow- our first time and it was amazing! Had a party of 4 for birthday celebration 🎉; great variety of choices even on the limited Monday menu that met everyone's needs. Will ABSOLUTELY be back.
Without a doubt, one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta! The flavors and creativity of the dishes are phenomenal. You just can’t go wrong ordering anything on the menu. And the staff is beyond amazing and accommodating. My first visit was at my birthday dinner this summer, during which Chef Evan and his team pulled out all the stops to make it the perfect night for our large party. From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was impeccable, which says so much since catering to a group of almost 30 people at once is often a recipe for disaster at even the best restaurants. My whole crew was blown away. We came back this Fall and much to our surprise, the chef and service staff remembered us and treated us with just as much love and care as they did during our first visit as newcomers. Food, service and ambiance are all spot on!!
Delicious dishes, fun menu. And the drinks? Outstanding. Really fun place with a great vibe.
The food is wonderful. The chef knows how to season and present great dishes. Nothing is "over done" or "too fussy" The Wait staff are accommodating and very pleasant. The noise level is really bad. More outside tables would help out one like me who has a low tolorance for Loud dining. Unfortunately the tables on patio were full. On week nights it's not so loud, so I'll save this wonderful eating establishment for week days. Peggy
Clean, greeted, fast friendly server, excellent follow up.
Just ok. Won't go back. Food was burnt. The fries were terrible. How do you screw up fries?
The space is beautiful and the food is pretty good. The sweet and sour chips were excellent. I ordered the tacos, which did not come assembled. While all of the elements were delicious, the tortilla fell apart when loaded up with food. As a taco lover, this was a bit disappointing. Otherwise, no complaints.
Wonderful food, service and the cocktails were amazing. Can't wait to go back!
