Our head chef Daniel has carefully crafted our menu to make the most of our fortunate position here in the heart of Angus. Our dishes incorporate the very finest produce locally farmed and delivered fresh to the restaurant, whether that be fresh free-range eggs from Craignathro Farm at Balmashanner, delicious Aberdeen Angus steaks butchered by Alan Rennie’s or fresh dairy produce from North Street Dairy. Every dish, every sauce, every dessert is prepared from scratch on the premises, ensuring the highest quality every time you visit. It also means we can cater for your dietary requirements by modifying any of our dishes so please let our team know if you have any dietary restrictions.

Visited Forfar to meet friends, booked online as Reveiws seemed ok for Cashleys! What a Big Mistake! waitress service was pleasant, but thats where it ends! Starters were passable, but Main Courses were a disaster! Sorry Do Not Eat at Cashleys(now 1871, Forfar Golf Clubhouse) I was a Junior Member of Club in late 1980's, think Clubhouse is same decor! If your hungry go somewhere else! 👎👎👎

Was sent a text on the morning of our booking saying the restaurant won't be open tonight !!! Not that it's easy to get an alternative at this time of year within short notice. Very disappointed

Simple high tea menu, food was very tasty and we'll presented. Service was great, friendly and catered for our children. Would highly recommend.

Service is incredibly slow, second time we have eaten here and it is terrible . Went to try the beer and burger offer on a Friday night it took 45 minutes for the burger and chips to arrive. When the waitress served them we were told the onion rings would be out in a minute. We were finished our meal when the same waitress arrived with the onion rings, a good 40 minutes after our burgers were served. The service ruins what could be a reasonable meal

Food was lovely but we had to wait an hour to get it and we were only having sandwiches and soup. They did apologise when we queried the time.

Not great at all. As we were the only table in the restaurant my hopes were not high but it was disappointing. We shared a bacon and cheese flamkuchen and it was so disappointing. (We also has to ask for side plates as none were provided with the bread/ olives or sharer starter). Mains were ordered, steak, fish etc and all very basic. There is no children’s menu but the chef did do some sausages for my youngest age 2 which none of the main menu was suitable for which was kind. Lemon meringue was good but the affogato was definaltey not an affogato, just caramel ice cream with coffee over the top. Poor. The worst bit was the surroundings. The children pulled back the blind we were airing next to to find so many dead blue bottle flies. Gross. We won’t be back.

Excellent chef and fabulous dairy free desserts. Lovely to find something other than just fresh fruit or lemon sorbet.
