The food was delicious! The owner was extremely friendly and the vibes were perfect to catch up with friends
The food was fresh and delicious and the service was great.
Stylish but unpretentious place - sports on at the bar, dining area that's separate and comfortable. Food is fine - my chicken (with potatoes, carrots and spinach) was really quite good, while the pasta dishes were fine if not remarkable. The pizza is interesting and different - the crust was light, airy and sponge-y (they advertise this) - it's definitely worth a try (I really liked it, my wife didn't care for it).
However, the waitstaff was really wonderful - kind, patient, attentive. We will very likely go back b/c of the staff. In a city with so much good Italian readily available (and this is good - if not standout - Italian food), the service is what separated this place from others for us.
We brought our family in and they were wonderful. We had Brussel sprouts, prosciutto panini and penne pasta. All were delish! I liked the kids mini pizza, but I would suggest they skip the chicken nuggets on their menu and stick to Italian where they really shine! Great stop and easy walk from Lincoln Park!
Great place. We go weekly.
We went here on a Sunday for lunch and it was rather empty but that was fine. I appreciated that they have a full vegan menu but I found the food to be just ok and somewhat over priced. I had the risotto and it wasn’t by any means authentic. My husband had the spaghetti and the flavor was good on that one but nothing impressive. I may give it another chance to try their take on pizza and see if that’s any better.
We walked in and there were TWO 5 year old bday parties with kids running around everywhere-this was a Saturday night!!. We walked out.
Way too loud had to change tables
Next time delivery
Went there for the pizza pinsa - which we enjoyed very much. Not sure which other restaurants serve it. Especially liked the Caesar salad and the risotto. Waiter was particularly attentive.
Awesome vegan menu! We shared a delicious pizza and fries. Will return!
Top “Italian American” food. If pasta were to be cooked “al dente” it might have earned the top “Italian” adjective. Great place anyways, food presentation is taken care of. Recommended.
First time we have been here and it was terrific! besides the regular menu Casati's has a gluten free menu and a vegan menu--both quite extensive. The risotto I had was delicious-very flavorful. My husband had the carbonara that he said was also delicious. The crispy artichoke appetizer was superb, as was the cannoli and tiramisu for dessert. We will definitely be back--loved it. My only complaint was service was slow. Granted it was Valentine's Day and they were busy but still. We asked for bread three times and never got it. Small thing compared to the delicious food. The waiter was personable without being overly friendly. Overall great restaurant and I would totally recommend it and go back again!
The food was great and we were glad we went here for our valentine's day dinner. The service however was lacking. Our server was covering many tables and felt non existent. We had long gaps between courses and would have to flag down the server multiple times to get a refill on water, get silverware, get another drink, and obtain the dessert menu.
This is a go-to restaurant for me! The food and service is consistently excellent. They have great happy hour deals and it’s always easy to get a table. I highly recommend Casati’s for any occasion.
Far exceeded expectations. Food was amazing. Waiter’s wine suggestions were spot-on. Very accommodating of large group. Highly recommended
After a play at victory gardens we went to Casatis and enjoyed an amazing meal with top notch service. We will return.
It’s mediocre. With so many Italian options around, it needs to get the staples perfect and have something to stand out. This place has neither. Blue cheese olives in your martini? No. Traditional Caesar salad with anchovies? No. Bread bowl? No. We don’t even try the pasta as all the menu items sounded like something was missing. Carbonara? Can I get some shrimp or broccoli or anything with it? The pizza was interesting with a unique crust; but wasn’t enough to change the overall experience.
Anyway, won’t be back. Service was sub par, but easily fixed if the manager or owner cares enough. This place has a decent foundation but not enough soul or spice to make it worthwhile for a return visit. Likely another fatality to a cursed corner.
While the food was good (not great) we won't be returning. Part of a restaurant experience is the service you receive. If you're made to feel special, you most likely would return. I made reservations using OpenTable commenting that we were celebrating our daughters birthday "on her actual birthday". The hostesses both wished her a happy birthday upon check-in. She was over the moon as she had just told us 22 was an inconsequential b-day. Our waiter however had a stale, bored attitude and didn't engage in conversation from start to finish. It's restaurant week so a little mention of the special menu would have been nice. There was a card with choices on the table. I chose to utilize it and my selection was delicious. Every restaurant we have visited on a birthday has brought out a dessert to celebrate. Unfortunately our streak just ended. Casati's - even a little sorbet with a candle would have been a great way to end the evening! We love Italian food and many restaurants offer a (free) shot of Limoncello after your dinner.
Davanti Enoteca and Forno Rosso are two off the top of my head. Even that would have been a way to recognize her birthday. Sadly disappointed. I mentioned it to the hostess as we left. She was kind and apologized. I asked her to discuss with management. If customers use the comments section to make a special request it should be passed along to the wait staff. It's a win-win! Happy customer is a returning customer!
The waitress was very helpful and patient. One member of our group had dietary restrictions and the waitress checked with the chef in order to provide us with accurate information. The food presentation was enticing. The meal and dessert did not disappoint!
I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Thank you so much! We hope to see you soon.
I had a wonderful lunch with my girlfriend, top notch service and food, a pleasant atmosphere and view, will absolutely be going there again !!!!!
We have dined here a number of times in the past. The restaurant remains well liked because of the quality of the food. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I would like to see them return their version of Linguini Vongole to the menu since it was excellent and a bit unique.
Great food and great service.
It was great food. Being from out of town we could not have picked better.
Server was awesome. Have had better Italian in the city for the price.
Thank you so much!
We had a great time! The food was fantastic and service was great! Can't wait go come back!
Thank you Leslie!
Loved the food and atmosphere!
This was our second time here, food was bomb but our first server was so much better our first time around. We were there to celebrate my friend’s new job and they did nothing to help add to the time there. First time around they gave us free champagne, a free drink that they were adding to the menu and a free dessert. (Hey sis if you’re reading this you were SO much fun)This time around the guy was boring and rarely checked up on us. Nothing to complain about it was just a drastic change from our first time visiting. Great place tho the butternut squash ravioli is to die for
Went with a friend who has lived in Italy for long period. She loved the food and so did we.
The staff was very attentive to our request for a quiet space. She offered several options. Restaurant has smaller cubes within it and the bar is set off to one side up front, near the door. Mon street parking abundant on Clark.
THank you and I hope to see you soon!
We had to wait 10 minutes to be greeted by our waiter after we were seated, which is a bit of a pet peeve for me, and he didn't even apologize for the wait. That said, once he did begin serving us, he was friendly and professional enough. The food was very good with healthy portions. I wouldn't recommend the cheese plate as an appetizer as we were a bit underwhelmed by that, but otherwise the food was quite good. The ambience was casual, but clean. Not too loud. Overall a nice dining experience.
Great service and food !
We were out in the city at Zoo lights with our family and went there for dinner. Really good meal, good service & walking distance from the zoo.
Very good scallops but too few.
Had to wait 5 min for our table to be ready but we got a drink at the bar. Great service throughout. The vibe was great.
Good food and great service, but a bit pricy. Tables way too close to each other. So close that while trying to get to her table, a woman bumped into a light sitting in ours, which fell over a plate and broke it.
Had New Year’s Eve dinner at Casati’s. It was wonderful. Beautiful space, good service and excellent food. We’ll be back soon.
Delicious food and impeccable service. Loved the porcine mushroom soup.
The food was delicious
Great service. Everything was tasty. Our group had the lobster risotto, branzino, scallops ( only 3 scallops- not a good choice for big eaters), pasta and a pizza. Recommend.
We think your food is of high quality and delicious! I am glad that you have wild salmon. I almost always order it. As to the noise level, the host told us that a large party was in the room where we were to be seated. She offered us a quieter table but we wanted to sit there. It was festive! We often eat at Casati’s and we hope your restaurant is doing very well. We will join you again soon.
Thank you, Ann Raven
