Casablanca Seafood Bar & Grill is a restaurant located in Miami that focuses on fresh seafood straight from the ocean. As a company, Casablanca has an extensive history in the commercial fishing industry. In fact, new hauls of fish, clams, oyster and lobster come in every day on its fishing boats. The quality of the ingredients, though, is only half the story. The preparation of these dishes is just as essential, and the chefs at Casablanca have been turning out highly regarded seafood specialties for a long time. Beyond seafood, Casablanca also serves salads, steaks and pasta dishes. The non English speaking hostess seemed bothered I didn’t speak Spanish. Shame on me perhaps because this is Miami. She was only able to tell me “no table for one hour”. I left, walked out and checked “restaurants near me” on Open Table, booked a reservation at the same place and was seated in 10min.

Walking in, the view over the yacht basin and Biscayne Bay is spectacular...then...everything went downhill from there. No server for 15 minutes...so had to get up..go to the front desk and ask for a server. When the server arrived...we ordered everything at once. The wine (white) came soon but no ice bucket to keep it cool. We received the first course...food was not fresh (seafood)...had to send it back. Hoping the next course would be better...it looked good...but after one bite...found it again terrible. Asked front desk to leave ...paid for the wine which was good.
And...the server did his best to help us...but the experience could not be saved.
I rarely have such a bad experience in a restaurant and hate to write a poor review, but this was an exception.

Fantastic dinner. Seafood was fresh and expertly cooked. We were served free Mahi dip and chips upon arriving and free blue point oysters during happy hour. View of the bay at dusk was awesome. Excellent value.

Dinner for 6. Waitress did not bring entree to one guest. At least 5 min wait before we could get her attention/she realized... then additional wait. It was a business meal, she brought check to table, handed to a male when female was paying.

From pandemonium to redemption:
They have run a Sunday brunch at $25 right after Thanksgiving and it was a fiasco. It was overbooked and, whatever that could go wrong went wrong. I still believe that, whoever came up with that idea should be fired because, with unlimited mimosas, free parking and the brunch itself, $25 did not make any sense.
For my daughter’s birthday, I wanted to give them a 2nd chance and, it was like day and night. They never run out of plates or utensils or food or drink or oysters. The service was top notched. To my surprise, they even offered a bottle of champagne (Taittinger) to my daughter since it was her birthday.
2 lessons: They have learned from their mistake and it is always good to give a second chance.

Casablanca on the Bay is always a treat. We visited from Naples and we were not disappointed. The seafood paella was awesome. The paella for two people was huge and enough for 4 people. We had to take some leftovers home. The complementary oysters were amazing. The staff was eager to help and answered all our questions. Excellent service. The view of the marina was gorgeous. We always eat at Casablanca anytime we visit Miami.

I went today for the $25 brunch buffet and was greatly disappointed with the service, lack of food and the taste of the food. First we were seated with no napkins or silverware on the table. Then the waiter told the waitress that we need to pay the bill before we can go get our food and to add the 18% gratuity, that should have been our sign to leave. So we headed to the buffet area and there wasn't any plates, none, nada. We had to wait in line to get a plate. Finally got a plate and more than half the buffet items were done, and what was left was cold. I asked when will they bring out the shrimp and was told that the shrimp is expensive and that it won't be replenished �. Wtf! So I got back to my table and still no silverware, and the waiter was no where to be found. So I went to the kitchen entrance and laywaited someone to walk out so I could ask them for some forks. The steak and pork was tasteless and tough. The paella was super fishy and cold. The only decent item on the buffet was the ceviche. The sangria and mimosas was watered down. I asked for oj several times and didn't get it unit I was done eating, our waiter was a smartass and told me he'll drop everything he's doing just to get me my juice, so my friend replied to him saying "she would really appreciate it being that you're getting that automatic 18% gratuity" he wasn't happy. Right before we left they sat 3 young ladies at a dirty table with food and dirty glasses still on it. This buffet was not worth my hard earned $25. No, they will never see me again.

Very disappointed. Even do i had a reservation I had to wait over 1 hour for a table. They finally sat me down on a table for 10 people with 8 people I didn’t know. Table was dirty. Waited 10 minutes before I got up to speak to a manager. I was moved to another table which was also dirty. Overall bad experience. Also bad customer service from waiter staff since the tip is automatically added to your bill. I might consider going back but if I see the same mess I will leave

The Sunday brunch was a train wreck most professional managers have the sense to do several soft openimgs prior to inviting the whole town. However this chap strobby the bar staring at his paid for models while I sat at a dirty table clad with dishes
and who was the genius that closed the bar only to cover it with side dishes
what a mistake the $$ lost on drinks

There was no food left, all the dressings n sauces were out, when we asked the server he stated "that's all that is left" when we asked for a manager he stated "look for him yourself" The pork sausage that they finally put out was raw
