About Permanently Closed - Casa Rubia at Trinity Groves
This restaurant is permanently closed. Casa Rubia at Trinity Groves is the new modern tapas restaurant from Chef Omar Flores and Jonn Baudoin. Chef Omar's menu will spotlight seasonal ingredients taking classics, putting a spin on them and making them with his flair. Catalonia is a favorite area in Spain for Chef Omar so the menu utilizes a lot of seafood. Paellas is a signature dish at Casa Rubia which changes daily. A full Spanish wine list, nice selection of sherries and Spanish / South American beers compliment the tapas menu.

Casa Rubia at Trinity Groves - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Casa Rubio and had a wonderful time. This is not our 1st time to eat there and every experience has been quite pleasing. The menu is broad and makes it easy to try something new whenever you go there. You have to be willing to move out of your comfort circle because many of the dishes will be 1st timers. One we tried was sardines with red and yellow peppers. My wife was more anxious to try this dish than I was, but it was really interesting and no where as fishy as I thought it was going to be. We started our meal with 2 cheeses and 2 charcuterie. Not something you find in many Dallas restaurants. Every thing we tried was very well prepared. Our waitress treated us very well and kept the pace of the meal slow as that is how we wanted it. It was a Monday night so the restaurant was not busy and the noise level was quite low. They also do not blast you with music. What they play is quite soft background. A pleasant change. Looking forward to going back soon.
When we realized we would be late arriving for our reservation I called Casa Rubia. I was told that it wasn't a problem and when we did arrive we were seated right away. The waiter was very helpful and all of our choices were delicious. We will definitely return again!
Our dinner at Casa Rubia was very good and the service was outstanding. The atmosphere is sleek and trendy, which may not appeal to lovers of traditional tapas, which tend to be rustic. Our waiter was attentive and helpful. Parking can be a challenge on Friday and Saturday nights due to the congested nature of the Trinity Groves complex.
Good happy hour food deals. Service at the bar was very good. It didn't translate after we were seated. It's not that the servers didn't try...it's just that they seem very inexperienced in serving at this level. Dirty dishes from another table were set on our table while the server took our dishes. After we gave the Ok on the bottle of wine we chose, the server left with it and took it to the bar to open it. It was just odd.
We had heard this is one of the best restaurants in Trinity Groves and we agree. Our server was excellent and had great recommendations, especially considering we had a 7 year old and 10 year old with us. Food was very good and came out to our table promptly. If you like mushrooms you have to get the mushroom dish with egg on top. Fantastic. Not sure I would go again on a Saturday night as the area is really busy but would come back here.
We were here for Mothers Day brunch. Loved the cheeses and Serrano ham. Everything was very good. The kitchen did send one of our entrees out about 5-6 minutes before the other. No explanation from the waitress as to what happened. Would definitely go again.
There isn't a bad restaurant in the whole Trinity Groves development, and Casa Rubia is the best IMHO. If you don't know about tapas, the wait staff can put together a great meal (including wine), and if you do know then it's even better. I try to eat here every time I'm in Dallas.
We had a wonderful dinner tonight. Our server, Gali, was great: very friendly, knew the menu well, and made excellent recommendations. There were quite a few dishes with ingredients we weren't familiar with. Gali did a great job describing them and was very helpful helping us choose items to order. Everything was delicious!! We loved the garlic shrimp, the Bocadillo and the Heritage pork short rib: can't wait to come back and try them again. In all, we ordered four tapas and two shared plates so we could try lots of dishes. That's a lot of food for two people (it was our choice to order that much, not the recommendation). We brought some home to enjoy again. We're planning to come back in two weeks and bring friends. Can't wait to try their paella!
First time visit and chose to sit inside rather than outside. Inside decor is more refined and outside seating has more of a "carnival" type feel given the adjacent restaurants with patio seating. Food was quite good and equally matched by good/excellent service. Ask for Jesus' as your waiter and he will treat you right.
The food was inconsistent....good shrimp, good salad, miserable octopus. Service started fine....prompt and attentive....but then our server disappeared (never saw him again, and someone else took over our table), and we waited forever for the next plate. And price was way too high for what we received....5 small plates, one glass of sangria....$91 with tip. Won't be back.
The food was delicious as always but the service was pretty bad. They were understaffed and you could really tell. My husband's drink arrived after our first 2 tapas and then about an hour later we got our paella. We have been there before and always had great experiences there so I hope it was just an off night because we really like this place.
The service was terrible. We never actually had a waiter. We had to give our order to random people that we could flag down to our table. It was not so busy as to excuse such poor service. The food was pretty good although some of it was over seasoned. I was really disappointed and had I not been with a fun group I would have had a very bad experience.
