CASA RESTAURANT & LOUNGE
Casa’s interior, designed by its owners, reflects the trendy sensibilities of the surrounding area while also paying tribute to the Bronx's present future. The multi-room restaurant offers the choice to observe passers-by in the glass-encased main room, or enjoy the privacy of dining and entertainment in the back room.
The place is super loud but it doesn’t bother me because the music was great!! The drinks are totally watered down. I ordered a pitcher of mojitos and there was no sugar cane, no flavor of mint, run or anything else. Tasted like slightly minted water. The guacamole tasted prepackaged. The shrimp dish had no flavor - the skirt steak was ok, the lime rice - meh. Make sure you know that they include a 20% tip on ALL checks. The hookah service man kept my change - even though he said he would bring it to me over 5 times. What hookah man doesn’t have $5 change (the only take cash). All in all - I would never eat there again, I would sit at the bar, drink soda and listen to the great music. Of even better, eat at HK (next door) and listen to the music from Casa.
Great place wonderful people working great service loved it !
Music was awesome. Great atmosphere!
Came in at 4:30 on a Sunday and only brunch menu? No other menu available?
Service was horrible. We left and went somewhere else before we ordered dinner.
Very professional and friendly place, get for celebrating your birthday
We shared a delicious lobster crab dip for the appetizer. It was creamy, flavorful and the the chunks of seafood were visible in the dip. For our main course, we had oxtails which were presented with a plaintain mofongo (rather bland but a perfect foil for the slightly spice sauce in the oxtails). We also ordered a side of the cilantro rice which could have been eaten by itself, it was so good. Finally we ordered the double chocolate truffle cake - I really enjoyed the combination of chocolatey goodness and nice cold ice cream. A great finish to a wonderful meal.
I have been to Casa Restaurant & Lounge many times. That should sum it up right there. I love the food, the Sunday brunches, the beverages, the hookah, the party room, the bar, the bartenders, the servers, the customer service and the music. Overall it is a great place.
When we arrived for our reservation there was a party wrapping up however the party lingered for another hour of loud shouters and our waitress was distracted by the other guests than to make sure we were ok. The music was so loud that we could not hold a conversation. The waitress decided to end her time with us to attend another party in the same place a little unprofessional to say the least... lastly when we went to pay our order with our debit card the waitress insisted on taking my husbands drivers license to the back to write down his information we found it odd and refused to provide the card I understand needing to see it but not taking out information not cool $225 later we just paid in cash never to go there again even if the food was good! That never happens at Havana or Cabo or Made in Puerto Rico or Mamajuana... this was our first and last visit at Casa!
Amazing brunch experience!
I feel like I got all the wrong information while booking this place. First off it said city island ended up not being, than they didn't find my RSVP but called me earlier in the day to confirm. They sat us next to a table smoking hookah which had I known that hookah was going to be an option, I would have never booked. The only good thing was the water it keep flowing the food was gross so many different flavor not one complement the other. The burger was raw when we told the waiter she didn't believe us we had to use our phone for a light because it was so dark in there. Everything we ordered from the menu came out different totally not what we was expecting. It was my birthday and this was not the environment I wanted to be in. But hey if you like hood spot this is your place!
Great place, great food, drinks and a great place. I would definitely be going back there again.
No complaints! Food, drinks, service were all superb. Had previously gone for brunch and wanted to try dinner. Trey (hopefully I spelled it right) our server was very accomadating due to my shellfish allergies. Not busy for a Wednesday night which was surprising. Probably will get busy after this review. :)
The food and drinks where very good I will definitely be back soon
Fantastic Brunch Experience!
Always a great experience
My friend and I went here for Sunday Brunch, and had such a great time. The food was good, the music was even better and the service was on point! We never had an empty glass during our unlimited sangria brunch, and our waitress was super attentive and extremely nice. The best part was once we were done, we weren't rushed out and were able to stay for a few more drinks. Most restaurants usually push you out, even when they're not busy, which is a huge turn off. Not here! They definitely show their appreciation for their customers, and that goes a long way. I hope to be back soon, and hope to experience the same type of service. :)
Arrived with my husband and kids 9 y.o and 11y.o. THe place was empty so there was no need for reservation. The host had us choose where to sit. Place is modern decor-dark greys, white, reddish light fixtures. Place seems small but looks nice, good bar area and bathroom was updated and clean. Waiter explained that he’s was new, which explained why he was unfamiliar with the fact that their website showed there was a kids menu and only gave us regular menus that had no kids menu. For the kids I specifically ordered plain burgers-hold the bread, with side order fries for the kids. We ordered two drinks-coconut margarita and a red sangria. Red sangria came in mason jar but the coconut drink was watered down and we ordered a 2nd sangria. Kids food came with the buns, some sort of topping that tasted like bbq/bacon with ground meat. Had to scrape it off for he kids to eat and the burgers were overcooked-had burnt grill marks. As a result my husband ordered just appetizers: chorizo flatbread, short rib tips, 4 empanadas. The presentation was appealing, overall the appetizers tasted good, had flavor. The empanadas were spinach and cheese, chicken, and 2 ropa vieja-The ropa vieja was a bit dry but ok. Overall the experience or rather the feel of the place was cozy, empty with a few young patrons at the bar. I would not come here again for dinner but on the positive note they are open for night time lounge. If I returned for drinks at night, I would probably just order just appetizers and drinks.
