Casa Oaxaca - Bethesda
Carnitas, Barbacoa, or Pastor
Chips & Salsa
First one on the house!
Grilled marinated chicken, steak and shrimp, bell peppers, onions, jalapeño, rice, beans, guacamole, and pico de gallo
Second time to Casa Oaxaca and I've wanted to go back since. It was just as good as the first time. This time tried the steak quesadilla and mango margarita and easily will return for this order another time. The staff was great with their suggestion for items for the table and nothing order was disappointing. Next trip will start trying the list of tacos.
A higher end Mexican restaurant with a pleasant interior and very good food for the price. Much better than your typical Tex-mex
The regular margaritas were balanced just right between the alcohol and the juice taste. The Mole Oaxaca was outstanding. The mole was a rich but not sweet chocolate influenced by nuts and raisins. The underlying chicken leg/thigh and breast were juicy/tender. The fried cactus was a different but good taste. The prices are quite moderate; the Mole Oaxaca entree was about $20. There are more expensive (steak) entrees. The ambience is a bit rustic
Great food and great service. The fish ceviche was outstanding. We had a variety of tacos and they were all great. Also loved the hibiscus margaritas!
But Expensive. The food was a little late.
It may be that we went during a busy time but the food we received was not good quality. The pozole we ordered was mostly just cheese and the quality of the cheese seemed off— it was very rubbery. The mole dish we ordered came out burnt. The restaurant did make an excellent cocktail and the appetizers were good, but the entrees were really off.
Wonderful experience. Great food. Service was superb!
Casa Oaxaca never disappoints! The staff is so nice, friendly, and attentive. The outdoor area is large and very warm. The food is always delicious! Highly recommend the carne asada tacos and the guava margarita.
Great place for Mexican. Authenic and very well done.
We sat on the patio which was heated and enjoyable even on a cold night. The hostess sat us outside without any distance to the only other table that was on the patio, we asked to switch. The service was friendly but very, very slow which was odd since it wasn't busy.
Outdoor seating is lovely, servers are a bit “rushed” but food is amazingly fresh and well done
Delicious food, nicely warmed outdoor seating, friendly and attentive service.
Delicious food and drinks and great service! One of the best spots in Bethesda
Had a great meal and service was exceptional. Highly recommend.
Great wait staff. Fun environment. Tasty food.
Helen, our server had great recommendations and sense of humor!! We had a wonderful evening and felt comfortable with outdoor seating and plenty of heaters. Would highly recommend.
It's a nice place but the tortillas were like eating a dry sponge.
Fun spot, excellent food and very authentic Mexican options, good prices. Service was very friendly and improved through the night but initially it was very slow. Our servers were great, but initially things seemed a bit disorganized. This may have been due to a large rush of diners with insufficient numbers of service staff. Towards the end of the evening when things cleared out, our servers were incredibly attentive and their attitude was just great!
Outstanding ambience. Food was outstanding and very esthetic. Price was reasonable for the amount of food. Great job accommodating outdoor dining. Loved it. Will be back.
Great meal, great service. The margaritas are fantastic! We sat on the patio which has a wonderful atmosphere and patio heaters to warm it up in the cool evening air. Will definitely be returning.
Great date night!!
Good was ok but the service was terrible. Took them 10 mins to ask them if we wanted drinks. No one came to check on us to see if we liked the food or ask if we wanted anything else. We both wanted more drinks but we didn’t get to order them because of this. I wanted dessert but had to literally flag someone down to order it.
Great overall. Definitely worth a revisit. Outside table was nice and service was prompt.
Any mistakes were efficiently corrected. Food was delicious.
Absolutely delicious. The mocaljete is the surefire winner of the dinner menu. Will definitely return!
This place is hopping outside, must have been 100 diners at narrow picnic style tables. Server was very friendly, stretched pretty thin though. Fun atmosphere but pretty loud. Cocktails were good, ceviche excellent, food (mostly tacos) could have had more seasoning (not just heat but spices). Overall a good choice. Inside is very small, not sure what will happen when it gets really cold.
It was fine experience. I think it's totally worth to revisit this restaurant. I probably will.
Excellent food, generous portions. Large ourdoor dining area but, as of now, no heaters.
It was all good except for the rat that ran across the floor at the end of the evening outside. Need more traps!
This place is slightly better than fast food. Food and drinks were barely mediocre.
Tasty food, good service. The cactus margarita was extraordinary (flavorful but not sweet). Not really "Oaxacan"--more like TexMex--but we don't really have real Mexican food in the DC area. Still, I liked it.
Tacos are delicious
I love this spot. The food is always delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive.
Perfect venue for a birthday party! The staff was awesome, the service was superb, the ambiance was magical and the food and drinks were delicious. Highly recommend!!!
My sister and I enjoyed our weekday lunch at Casa Oaxaca. We had a comfortable table on a spacious, covered patio. The staff was responsive and did not attempt to hurry us. We had a pleasant get-together for nearly 90 minutes.
But one thing wasn't great: the food. We left a good portion of our guacamole unfinished. My sister thought it had too much garlic, I thought it had too much onion, and we agreed (despite it being visually attractive and served with crisp chips) it had insufficient avocado flavor.
Our tacos got mixed reviews. I had a fish taco that was quite good and a creditable mushroom taco. But the two tacos made with pork (a pastor and a carnitas) were mediocre. The predominant flavor was salt; despite plenty to drink at the restaurant, I still needed a couple glasses of water once I got home.
Such a fun outdoor space with delicious authentic Mexican food and drinks!! Fun girls’ night out!
Great fajitas! Fun outdoor patio
There were 4 of us and all of our entrees arrived cold.
We really enjoyed our drinks and the food. Super value! They have a very large outdoor covered patio. The tables are quite close together and there were a lot of families dining the night we were there. So just be aware that social distancing can be a little tough.
Really nicely presented food with flare from Oaxaca. Filling and tasty! Our only issue was that the mosquitos didn't allow us to sit outside.
