This is a hidden gem right in the middle of all of downtown LA's excitement. excellent, unhurried Continental style Service, fresh and very tasty pasta served piping hot. We had a lovely evening. I would highly recommend and I will be back.
We went after the lunch rush. Sat outside near the heater on the patio. Quiet, easy to converse.
Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and engaging (appropriately). He had been there for years and seemed to really enjoy his work. Very enjoyable dining experience
Staff treats you like family
Delicious! Great location in DTLA. Fun scene and outdoor available.
Casa Nostra is a solid Italian option Downtown. The service was pleasant and attentive, without being overbearing. The food is rich, yet not overly so. A beautiful expression of Italian classics.
Service was polite but very slow
I have never been disappointed with a meal at Cosa Nostra. Here in downtown L. A. or at any of it's other locations.
We chose to have dinner at Casa Nostra before the Laker game. When we arrived, the staff greeted us with open arms and warm smiles. They have a fabulous deal where you park in their lot, which costs $10, you received a $10 credit on your bill. Forts of all their complementary bread basket was joy. The cheesy pizza brad was fabulous. We had the meatball appetizer which were very flavorful. My girlfriend had the Penne Comodoro. She enjoyed it. I ordered the chicken caesar salad and it was quite good too with a very generous portion of chicken. My girlfriend had a glass of red wine and I had a jack and coke. Overall it was a nice meal and a great way to start an evening.
Super friendly and attentive staff. Wonderful food
Well made drinks at the bar. Great service and food. A plus with their validated parking.
The food was very good, the prices were reasonable, and the service was excellent. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.
It was a very good experience. Service was a touch slow but I was on vacation so I didn't mind too much. The food was very good. I had pappardelle with a wild boar ragu. Very very delicious and the meat was so tender it melted. There was a large group at the bar so it was pretty loud but not intolerable. By the looks of the restaurant I doubt it would normally be so loud.
A great alternative to the oversized and overpriced restaurants of LA Live before an event at Staples Center. Everything good enough, but not outstanding.
Upon arrival, I was created appropriately and given a table. It took 10 minutes during the lunch hour to be approached by a server. I told him I was waiting for the rest of my party and requested a menu. I was provided one promptly. After the arrival of the rest of my party, we were offered water immediately. It took 15 minutes before a server approached to take our order; he apologized for the wait. It was the business lunch hour despite the heavy rain (the only time it rains in So. CA). The food arrived very quickly after the server took the order without writing it down and even being interrupted during the taking of our order by the owner and or manager. I thought that was rude. The Manager and or Owner could have waited for his server to complete his business with our table before asking or given direction on another issue unrelated. The food was mediocre. I had the Piccata (Sauteed Chicken Breast, Artichokes in a Lemon Capers Sauce. Served with Sauteed Spinach). I was not impressed at all. the chicken was very thinly sliced and dry despite the sauce. I couldn't even finish it. Not everyone was completely happy with their meal but felt good about the quickness of the arrival of the food and the atmosphere. For these reasons, I rated them good instead of very good or excellent.
It had been a while since the last time I had lunch here, and the quality has not changed - it’s great! Good work!
The waiter actually got one of my entrees wrong but it was still good since it was my 2nd option.
Great pasta dishes, and very timely service as we were heAded to an event.
We have been here several times and always had a good experience except for this last weekend. We had a party of 6, our reservation was at 5:15, we were going to a 7pm hockey game. We ordered pretty much right away, cocktails and appetizers and then our food. The restaurant was not very crowded and our waiter was not in a good mood. When I asked about the Ceasars salad, he said it was safe, that his chef had assured him it came from a different place than where the lettuce was recalled. When I questioned that he said under his breath, where the others at the table could hear, "lady, then just don't order it". When it had been over 30 minutes and we did not get our food, I tried to get our waiter's attention but he never acknowledged me, when he finally did, he said "I see you" in a rude tone. I asked him politely to check on our meal, he came back and said it will be a few more minutes, now it was going on 40 minutes and my husband got up from our table to talk to the manage, as they were returning to the table the food was being served. My daughters pasta was lukewarm but everyone else's was ok. My husband's came out approximately 6 minutes after the rest of ours. I asked for our check as soon as we got the food so there would be no more delays. When the check came, they had given us a slight discount on the check and charged us 20% gratuity which was way too much for the treatment we received from our waiter. The busboy was nice and attentive however, without asking he poured sparkling water into regular water glasses and never offered to make it right. Our bill was still $300.00 and I feel we deserved an apology especially from our waiter, who was lucky the 20% was automatically put in there due to the larger party because honestly I would have never have given him that. BTW, the excuse we received was they had been closed for 2 days and were trying to get back in the swing of things!!
Good food in a great location that would take a reservation for a large party. We will be back!
Was great !! Very good environment, delicious food etc highly recommended!!!
Great food, attentive service. Love this spot
Very nice restaurant if you are staying near Staples Center. Short, safe walk. Wonderful food, great service. Big wine list. Highly recommend.
Food was good, pretty small portions on pasta dishes, polite frirndly service. Good spot to eat away from the LA Live craziness before a game at Staples or event at microsoft theater.
The food and the service was excellent as usual. there's a group of us that go to dinner there before all hockey games.
Service was terrible. Bartender was “so tired” as he proceeded to tell all his guests. Had to ask other staff for silverware, bread, water, napkins ect. Started off sitting in a booth in the bar and when we weren’t getting any service moved to the bar to make it easier. NOT worth it. I work in the service industry and am usually very patient. But this was unexceptable.
We were in town for Rock &Roll Half Marathon and wanted some pasta before the race. Just the right portions and great flavor. I had the lasagna and it was very good. Great service and nice atmosphere
Come here for the first time. Food is good in a decent size. Will come again
Really underwhelming. Nice staff but the food is really ordinary and the place is just plain weird after happy hour. Must be a work day place.
Came here to celebrate my birthday with friends. The food and service are great. I would definitely come back just to have dinner.
It was a delightful experience. The service was exceptional and the beers on tap were very good. The calamari was a little over-breaded and the rosemary potatoes felt more like potatoed rosemary. Other than that, the intimacy, the noise lever and pink sauce all battle it out to take the night's highlight. I would definitely return with a smile.
Overall it was okay, nothing that would made me go back for. What was annoying was when we asked the waiter what would he recommend, he told us how he couldn't recommend anything because what he likes we may not like blah blah blah. . . This was our first time dining here, we have been to 5 star restaurants and never have I ever! received this answer, ever! Extremely put off by this.
Stopped in for happy hour on a Saturday night before heading to a concert at Staples. The bartenders were great, happy hour deals, outstanding. Full menu at bar.
The setting and food was fantastic!
The service was great and the setting well worth the visit!
We come for every event downtown. We are treated like family. Food is fantastic as is the service
Pre-game before the King's season opener. Close enough to Staples but without the crowds. My wife and I have had several different entrees and have never been disappointed. Service is always exceptional. Noise level is commensurate with the proximity to the bar, with many quite seating options. Will dine here again during the season.
Always a fantastic evening
Service and food
Disappointing service for a large group with a reservation on a slow night. One waitress unassisted and handling additional tables. Maitre d provided no assistance in guiding hosting for small group. Service uneven. No sense if timing, I e. Drinks, specials, order timing.
Food is not flavorful at all! Paid $9 for a small salad that had withered lettuce and barely any dressing. Drinks were basic. Pasta is very basic and the prices were expensive for no reason! Seevice was ok. I will NOT be returning or recommending this restaurant.
We needed a convenient location to LA Live and the Conference Center to have a dinner with vendors, and scheduled at the last minute. They had an available table to fit our group, and we happily stumbled upon their happy hour prior to getting our table. I recommended making your reservation for 7PM and planning to be at the bar for an hour before to take advantage of the drink specials before you sit down for your meal. Perfect place to discuss business or catch up with friends. The food was excellent and the servers were knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly! We'll make this a regular location for dinners during our annual LA trip.
