Casa Nostra Ristorante Downtown Ratings and Reviews
We have eaten at the location in Westlake Village and loved it. This was out first time at this location and it was terrific. Great menu selection and great specials. Our waiter Guideseppe was from Puglia and he was fantastictic! All in all, a greatt dinner.
Great restaurant. Amazing experience.
I was looking for a great Italian restaurant downtown and came across this one.
They are a bit pricey but it's perfect for a date.
I had the shrimp tortellini. Which was excellent.
They make all their pasta from scratch, which is a huge plus for me. Everything is cooled to perfection.
The food was excellent! It was a lunch party of 8 and everybody was happy with their orders (mostly pasta dishes with one margherita pizza). The service was also very good. Where we sat though was very warm. We were seated under a skylight and even though the air was supposedly on at the area, it was still warm. The food is also a bit on the pricier side. All in all, would be back to dine here again!
The service is weird here. I always feel awkward like I'm bothering the waitstaff just by showing up. The food is reasonably priced and I'd say priced appropriately. Some solid pasta dishes on the menu make this place a great casual place to dine. I just wish the staff woke up a bit and seemed more welcoming.
The pasta special with scallops was really good and the gnocchi with pesto delicious. Also the pasta fagoli soup was very good. Downside the prices were a tad bit high, especially for the crab cakes appetizers @ $19 were just so so, better store bought from Costco!
We had a most pleasant dining experience at Casa Nostra. The weather called for outdoor dining, which they beautifully provide along with superior service, great food, and a noise level that allowed for pleasant conversation rather than the raucous atmosphere found in so many other "hip" places. Besides all that, they validate for up to four hours of free parking...in DTLA near LA LIVE! no less. I don't frequent that area too much, but could imagine having a nice dinner then checking out the Grammy Museum, attending a movie theatre, or taking a nice stroll through this exciting part of town.
We've been here on about five other occasions and I know we'll be back. All that and anche parlano italiano!
It's a great place for a happy hour ! From 3 pm to 8 pm great food , prices are very reasonable ! Great service ! Nice ambiance ! Great place for group get together ! Free parking
The best happy hour in LA ! So close to LA live , Staple Center in the heart of DTLA!! One of LA ' s best !
very disappointing ambiance and crowd. Was expecting a fun, upscale crowd downtown and it was poorly dressed older people and people with babies. Zero ambiance and our waitress was terrible with no personality or energy. Completely inappropriate for this restaurant - she Could have worked at a coffee shop. Food was very good - but would not go back due to ambiance and waiter service.
It was extremely hot in the section we were seated in - we had a group of 8 and were put by the bathrooms with a big heavy curtain surrounding us. It blocked the AC and it was not comfortable.
The food was okay - nothing to write home about. One of the orders was incorrect and had to be remade - my coworker didn't get to eat until we were all finished & my boss couldn't eat her pizza as the meat had a distinct odor that was unappetizing.
Overall, I'd call it a work dinner "fail" and I wouldn't return. I'd recommend Bottega Louie instead and we ended up there after to get dessert.
The main restaurant looked nice and was a lot cooler temp-wise, perhaps it'd be great for a date or smaller party.
This is one of our favorites for a consistently good Italian meal with a nice wine selection. They opened downtown a few years ago the original in Pacific palisades is also lovely. It gets fairly lively in the main dining room so we usually ask for one of the patios. Service pacing is great for a meal where you want to savor and not rush. It's walking distance from staples and they validate if you're catching an event and dont want to be in l.a. live.
Nothing spectacular. The price was too much for food that did not seem authentic. Spaghetti sauce was too brown almost a distasteful color. The squid ink was not even as good as others I have had. No squid ink flavor and there was broccoli?!? Like frozen broccoli? The bread was too hard. The sauce olive oil and balsamic we pour ourselves. The balsamic bottle was sticky and dripping. Service was unatenttive and almost cavalier. For the price it was hard to digest this place as a 4 stars restaurant.
A confused restaurant that played Usher and served salty ill-conceived Italian food. If you're in for a business lunch it might be passable, but for anything that might consider the actual taste and environment that an Italian restaurant should have it was laughable. They prey on eaters using their excellent location downtown only to leave them empty handed with wine that competes to outdo the food on gross misrepresentation of Italian fare. I don't know how this has 4 stars especially considering all the great food in LA - go somewhere else, I hear there is a McDonalds opening up down the street. 0 stars.
Restaurant staff was so amazing, friendly and accommodating. They were flexible with my reservation and met our needs and expectation. It was my birthday, they went out of their way to make me feel special by providing my guests and I a round of shots that evening! Very amazing service! Definitely would come again!
