Our first time dining at Casa Nonno and most likely our last. Server John R., was persistent about us ordering drinks immediately after being seated. His service was poor at best. John R. took our food and drink order. We ordered two glasses of wine and a Caesar Salad plus a margarita pizza and Chicken Parmesan. John talked me into getting a side dish of pasta that I didn’t really want as he said the chicken didn’t come with anything else. He didn’t tell us what the up charge would be for the pasta. Our wine and salad came out quickly, but afterwards it took nearly 45 minutes to get a small pizza and the chicken Parmesan. John said he forgot to put the order in. We had a show to attend at 8 so now we were hurrying to get our food. The Chicken Parm was poorly prepared as the chicken was paper thin and all breading and came out by itself so I was basically eating it by myself as my wife was waiting for her pizza. Finally with the help of the manager the pizza came to our table. This was over one hour after it was ordered. When our bill came I was shocked to see that the 2 ounces of pasta was priced at $16…..that’s outrageous. Had I known the side pasta cost I would have ordered a full pasta dish for $24. The manager did take the pizza charge off the bill but the overall experience was less than desirable. My recommendation for Casa Nonno would be a No No. Had it not been for the manager who was very caring we would have missed the opening of our show.

The service is good but the foods are too salty for my taste.

The Caesar Salad was wonderful -- large, fresh and tasty. The rigatoni with Sunday ragu had so little meat in the ragu that we wondered what really made it a ragu!? Pasta was cooked properly and the dish was otherwise tasty. The linguini with clams had more butter in the sauce than white wine, but was very delicious. Unfortunately some of the clams were sandy. Our server was friendly and attentive.

My husband and I are BPG restaurant group veterans--Bardea, Bardea Steak, Wilmas--we expected similar ambiance, service, and food. We got 1 out of 3. Food was excellent. If you aren't aware, food is served family style on small tables. That's where they need improvement compared to their better restaurant siblings. No serving utensils, food attempted to put down on tables already cluttered with dirty dishes, inattentive servers to clean off table and provide serving spoons for lasagna, for example, that wasn't going to make it's way cleanly on to my plate without a utensil. Finally, there are 2 areas to this restaurant in DeCo, one that is energetic, near the bar, cozy ambiance. And the other--definite wedding rehearsal dinner and diner vibes-- with unnecessary easy access to the bussing station, a table pedestal without a table, and pictures leaning against the wall that are waiting to be hung up. BPG restaurants are not cheap but they are usually worth it. I cannot recommend Casa Nonna using my usual restaurant group criteria.

Hostess seemed majorly stressed, but not sure why. Some manager guy with a man bun was busy reading his phone at the hostess stand. Not a good look. Long long wait for a table but there were many open. Maybe there were too few servers but it didn’t fill up. Waiter was fine. Food was fine. Small things like no serving spoon for a shared appetizer and no one to flag down to get one. In all not a very enjoyable experience.

We were seated about 45 minutes after our reservation time because a party was lingering at their table and little effort was made to get them to leave by management. Food came out very slowly (even after the rush). We were asked if we were ready for our check while *3* entrees were still missing. Super frustrating considering we waited 45 minutes for our table while the previous party took all the time they wanted. Service left a lot to be desired- We were not even offered basics like pepper and fresh parm which is wild for an Italian restaurant. The timing and delays were just too much considering we were dining with a 2 year old and chose our reservation time around her needs. Our check was partially comped which was.. fine. That all being said- the food was absolutely delicious and I will go back with hopes the service is better next time.

My family and I really enjoyed Casa Nonna. We ordered a variety of dishes for appetizers (mozzarella stick, octopus salad, misto fritti) but what was very alarming is that they put some kind of meat in their Caesar salad, a salad that you would not normally assumed had meat in it, and we had someone in our party that has a pork allergy. This ingredient (may have been salami?) was not listed on the menu. It was a little bit of a scary situation for a while but luckily the person did not have a reaction. I think for such a high end restaurant, asking about allergies ahead of time or more importantly listing all potential allergens in each dish is very important. The entrees were all great as well. But again I strongly urge the restaurant to list ALL ingredients in their dishes on the menu, to avoid a potential health emergency.
