Casa Nonna - Midtown

It’s truffle time and CN had a couple nice dishes featuring it. The truffle risotto with porcini mushrooms was satisfying for 3 of us who selected it. The burrata and calamari starters were delicious (snuck in some veggies with the squid, so I had a little green). The place is cavernous so it’s always a little noisy but the tables are spaced far enough away from each other that it’s not a big deal.
Casa Nonna is a real find in an area which is a food desert!
Happy to have found this place - the food was very good, variety was good and accommodated our vegetarian as well as the carnivore in our group. Service very good and attentive. Wine list needs to be updated as the listed year for our wine was sold out and replaced with a later year, though also a good choice. Should be brought to the customer's attention. My particular complaint was with the wine glasses, as with most restaurants, were too small for the wine being served. Our server did offer and we accepted the decanting, which opened up the wine a bit sooner than otherwise. Will definitely go back. Location perfect for both seeing a show on Broadway and meeting others who are coming into the city from a variety of places - very convenient to Penn station. NOT a tourist trap like those restaurants closer to Broadway, but rather a nice neighborhood place.
Perfect meal and experience as usual!
The food and service were both very good, I would like to return to try the brick oven Pizza
Always wonderful to eat here. Love it
the menu is amazing; the ambiance very Italian and love it...a wonderful oasis in the garment district.
It was our Anniversary. They hand wrote a very nice card, had complementary champagne and even comped our dessert. Truly a great night.
Good service and lots of menu choices. Also options for pizza. Convenient to convention center and MSG
I ordered the scallops. They were very good but the portion was so small. It came only with 3 scallops and a small amount of cous cous... no vegetable. It was $36 or $38. I was actually hungry afterward. I usually get 3x the amount of food for $10 cheaper at an upscale restaurant. I had the Spumoni dessert which was just ehhh and small. I was still hungry After dessert.
Amazing staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Great meal suggestions by our waiter. It was my wife’s birthday which I had indicated through open table. They. Fought her a birthday card and complimentary Prosecco. I had the chicken parm. The chicken melted in my mouth. Perfect. My wife had veal tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto. Everything was great.
The third time I have eaten here. It’a a large restaurant. Food has been consistently excellent. Service staff could not be more attentive and accommodating.
In an area of Manhattan with few good restaurants, this is a find..
As always, it was an excellent dining and conversational experience at Casa Nonna. It’s such a beautiful, spacious, and welcoming place for a quiet business and personal conversation. And the food and service are always exceptional.
The filet and spaghetti were delicious and perfectly prepared.
My wife and I went there based for our anniversary. We didn’t know the restaurant but were staying nearby in Hudson Yards and went there basing our decision on Open Table ratings. We had been 8 days in NYC in a “culinary adventure” and this was our last evening.
We were greeting by a nice host (who we later learned was the manager) who took care of us. Seating was spacious and quiet - rare for NYC! We just loved the ambiance. More importantly, the food was exceptional! We took the host’s recommendation and ordered the Siamese Agnolotti and it was absolutely delicious!!! - never had anything like it and enjoyed it so much, we wanted a second!
The entire evening was exceptional!!!
I Highly recommend.
A local gem in midtown NYC. Good for a business meal or before broadway.
Everything was perfect.
Food was excellent, service was even better!
I hope to have time for another visit this trip
We spent the weekend in NYC for our anniversary, and went to Casa Nonna for dinner one night. The staff were notified in advance through Open Table that it was our anniversary. When we arrived, we were given a handwritten anniversary card, and once we were seated, we were given two complimentary glasses of Prosecco. I had tortellini made from fresh beets with a light lemon sauce that was delicious and very unusual. Finally, they came to our table with a complimentary dessert of cheesecake and lemon gelato, which were also delicious. We have never been to a restaurant that made such a fuss over an anniversary! It was wonderful!
Food was great, service was outstanding - waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful and nice.
Awesome service and food, always.
It seems that all employees must have read Danny Myers book on hospitality! Not only were the meals delicious, but each and every staff member made us feel good. We walked out of the restaurant saying we had enjoyed the evening, our indication of a top restaurant.
Large space with much better than average food. Given the dearth of restaurants in this part of town, I would not hesitate to recommend it for dinner.
Love this place. It’s ridiculously pricey though. Great food. Great staff. Great wine. I wish it weren’t so expensive. But will come back!!!
Food was excellent, portion was just right and the flat bread was amazing!
Amazing atmosphere and service! Will go back every time we are in town!
Rare find in this area of Midtown. Creative Italian cuisine with tables that are generously spaced. Attentive service and low noise level rounds out the experience. It is my favorite restaurant in NYC.
Excellent venue for a small or large gathering. Food and value top notch. Only problem was a long delay in providing the nice flavored pitta bread they asked us if we wanted!! My waistline appreciated the abstinence!!
Great lunch! The food was superb! Can’t wait to come back for dinner and to hang out at the bar!
Pretty large spot for NY. The pasta was incredible and the dessert was so good. I would recommend for a business meal as the noise level was low.
Fantastic, outstanding friendly and attentive service. Large restaurant with plenty of space to spread out between you and your dining neighbors. The food was good: meatballs are tender; calamari is fresh grilled branzino is excellent - salty & crispy. Really, the only downside are the complimentary breads which lack any real taste. Would love to see the restaurant have a more creative menu for pizza offerings.
We had a business meeting, and it was easy to carry on a conversation. The food and service were excellent.
Great service! Great food! Great place!
It was our first time! We will definitely be back. Food was amazing. Service was spectacular.
The perfect pre-Broadway show location. Exceeded every expectation I had for a top restaurant. Will be back for sure!
We had a great time! Food was excellent and perfect! Service was outstanding, treated us like gold!
Food was really good! And the ambiance was great!
Enjoyed a great meal with business colleagues. After searching for restaurants that cater to larger parties, near our hotel, I was happy to have found this lovely spot. We were seated at a round table. It was perfect for talking and the center lazy susan was a nice feature to share appetizers. I appreciated the low lighting and the quieter atmosphere. We opted to order from the menu and skip the restaurant week specials and all 7 of us enjoyed our meals. The ravioli dish, Siamese Angnolotti, was amazing. Service was perfect. I’m planning on going again.
Loved our server, food was delicious, but dinner was more expensive than we expected
