Razor Clams a la Plancha
Oxtail Stuffed Piquillo Peppers
Fantastic food, great wine, attentive service and, after the first 15 or so minutes, no music! My only reservation was that it was quite expensive. But although I do not expect to do this very often, it was a great experience and I don't regret spending the money
Wonderful meal, terrific service, ready to go back
If you choose a one star michelin restaurant you expect good food and an approipriate Space!
Booth were not at the rendez-vous instead we were at the cantine serving food that you will get in a bodega in Spain for a third if the price
The octopus was quite good and well prepared. A couple other dishes were a bit to greasy for our liking as well as too salty. It is a lovely NYC feeling location. The burrata was also pretty nice.
Great food great service
terrible service from the host who has a horrible manner. Didn’t feel welcome at all. Very disappointed
Amazing evening with an amazing meal. Highly recommend. A true gem in the city!
The appetizer was not chewable, the bread was over toasted, I asked for a knife to cut it and they didn’t had any at all.
The waiter told us that we could share the food but the qty of each dish is barely enough for one person.
Not sufficient heating when seating outside and the waiter is not close by, each time we needed to wait 5-10 min for him to come outside
Excellent michellin star restaurant. I went with some family members and enjoyed a tasty reasonably priced tapas meal that was easy to get to via public transit.
Food is delicious and creative. Interesting taste sensations and combinations. Wonderful waiter Fernando was very attentive and helpful.
Angie was a wonderful! The food was extraordinary. And the sommelier made a great recommendation for a Sherry.
The food was fantastic: Skirt steak, scallops, Duck and salad all cooked or prepared for perfection. However I miss the Pork cheeks I had a year ago. The service was easy and not overburdening. We celebrate my friend birthday. The two champagne glasses were on the house, we love this place. I live one block away. We shall be back.
Perfect for two. Interesting small environment couples with a variety of amazing dishes... I strongly recommend a wine pairing to go with a medley of flavors.
Outstanding in every way! Each dish was better than the next. The seasoning was especially perfect. I love salt but I also make a note of when cuisine is over salted to make up for poor quality ingredients. This was definitely not the case at Casa Mono. Would go back 100%!
Great, as always!
Amazing food with a variety of flavors. Pork Soprasata and the Goat with Avocado were the top dishes we had.
Just an amazing experience. Michelin star tapas in a spot you wouldn’t expect there to be a Michelin star restaurant.
One of New York City's best restaurants never misses a beat. The refined and vivid Spanish cuisine is augmented by professional, friendly service and a stellar wine list. There's a reason Casa Mono has been around so long...bravo!
Delightful, cozy Spanish tapas place in Grammercy Park. Food was wonderful....especially recommend the scallops, the goat, and the pork belly. Unfortunately no sangria.....?? A tapas place with no sangria?? Nevertheless, a lovely meal.
Very knowledgeable server! Warm and Friendly! Great wine and food. Host team seemed less than thrilled to be working but other than that it was amazing. We sat in the outside hut that was amazing and warm too. Inside was deff popping and upon my next visit I’m going to try to sit I side. Thank you Meredith (our server) for making night great!
Probably the best Spanish Tapas restaurant in the city. The food and service was outstanding. The hostess was a little rude but will not that against the fine waiters.
Best service ever, and the food was beyond excellent.
Great food, best service
Most delicious lunch I have had in years. The outdoor seating was comfortable with heat lamps, even though the day was cold.
One of my favorite restaurants. The foie gras is out of this world.
What a great place to enjoy the food and wine of Spain!
The steak was over cooked. It’s incredible that happens in a Michelin star restaurant. The host was rude.
The food was good, unfortunately the service was really bad, does not meet Michelin star quality at all.
Love this place, have been there more many times. Prices have increased SIGNIFICANTLY since the pandemic, but let’s say we can understand that. The sudden collapse of their customer service it is harder to comprehend. First off, we got there and were two tables available , both for two people, one very well located, one hidden, cramped and undesirable. We asked to be sited at the better one but we were blatantly lied to when told that a party of three was expected. No, just another couple was sited , but a younger one. Is there an age limit for when you get sited in the front of the restaurant ??? Service was surprisingly bad. When asked for a new plate when we changed dishes, the waitress was confused and reluctantly change them but with an air of complete disapproval. Many small restaurants have failed. I hope you take this as a sign that we want you to survive.
Amazing and inventive tapas in a very Spanish ambiance.
Sitting at the bar and watching the chefs at work is always a pleasure at Casa Mono. The service was incredible with a lot of attention to detail, and the food was superb, as always. The bone marrow and oxtail stuffed peppers were standouts! Might be the best bone marrow I have ever had
Indoor space is quite small, so a bit noisy.
Food - we came with high expectations , ordered 5 different dishes, they were all not 'wow' at all.
went on date night for spanish tapas. was incredible.
We love Casa Mono. The food is amazing, the wine list is interesting and offers good values, the service is impeccable.
Wonderful dinner at Casa Mono. My frisee salad, scallops and patatas bravas were all delicious. The chocolate ganache dessert was equally superb. My server Andrew was amazing. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and made certain that everything was perfect. Other staff members were also most helpful and professional. A terrific dining experience.
The food was exquisite!!! The combinations of flavors to make that perfect bite was incredible. Add to that the fact that Chef Jonathan Melendez is a very friendly and attentive chef who makes you feel like part of the family. Totally recommended.
For folks that have never had good Spanish tapas, this is perfect!
Amazing as always. First place to go after flying in from LA
Comida rica, con buenos ingredientes y variada, pero no tienen ningún plato sencillo o no muy aderezado.
No tienen endulzante para el café, solo azúcar regular.
Casa Mono is one of my favorite restaurants in the city and I come here often. Had the worst experience recently, however, as we wanted to do a bottle of wine and 2-3 tapas for a first date. 930 on a Tuesday evening and the waitress informed us that is was “full-service dining only” and we would need to order more than that if we wanted to stay seated outside rather than visit the communal tables at Bar Jamon. She proceeded to clear our table and waited for us to leave after conversing with the Som (loudly) that she “was so tired of people thinking that was OK.” In fairness, every time I dine here, we typically order 2-3 bottles of wine (the Numanthia is a favorite of mine) and the service has never been anything short of exceptional. I am so disappointed with the waitress and sommelier and upset that this has left a bad taste in my mouth for a favorite of mine. This would have been more understandable if there were not tables available or even a single person waiting to be seated but truly disappointing.
Above being said, I would still recommend Casa Mono as well as Bar Jamon - though be wary that there is apparently a minimum order required now.
