Whether you’re hosting a dozen friends for your birthday, treating the office to lunch, or sitting down with 30 other food obsessed celebrants for a multi-course culinary journey, Casa Mono and Bar Jamón can craft an event to remember.
View Private Dining DetailsMario Batali’s Gramercy-based Spanish tapas haven is still a must visit restaurant. Get in line for some jamón serrano.
One of the best restaurants in the city!! You have to try the Spanish sobrasada and Foie gras with cinco cebollas, everything on the menu was so good!!
Service is poor but food is delicious.
Birthday - great experience. Fast meal
Paying the bills and inputing the credit card pins with waitress standing behind look at you.
The best. Go as much as I can. Date, special occasion, with your mother. Doesn’t matter. Knocks it out every time.
Overpriced for what it is. Not many gluten free options
So delicious!
Great food and service!
We’ve been to casa mono many times, and have never been disappointed. Love the food; everything’s unique and delicious! Excellent professional service, including a knowledgeable sommelier and a helpful waiter. Can’t wait until our next meal at casa mono!
スペインで食事しているような雰囲気の良いレストランでした。
all dishes we ordered came out cold and everything was under-seasoned. the new system where the waiter brings you an ipad to pay and stands over you while you select your tip, which is calculated as double when you split the bill between 2 cards is tacky and uncomfortable.
The food was excellent. The restaurant was way too cold. The sever rushed us...
Be prepared for hideous crowding and painful noise.
Awesome meal. Illuminating experience for our foodie teenager!
Post matinee at Classic Stage nearby. They were out of razor clams but that was the only disappointment! Still my favorite NYC restaurant!!
It is a small restaurant on the corner, quite cute, but honestly I could not understand why they have one michlen star. There is nothing remarkable or unique about it. Yes it is nice and interesting concept of small plates which typically you would need 5-8 for two. There are around 12 tables, the seating is not comfortable, very small tables and chairs so its a challenge to try to fit right and we struggled.
Service is fair, but not excellent, waiter was quite impatient and gave judgmental looks when you would ask to repeat or exlain stuff, but on a positive note brought everything we ordered without time wait,
Some dishes were good, while others like sausage for example was very salty and not tasting so great so i could not finish it. Desserts were not delicious at all.
place was clean, including the bathroom.
But in my opinion not worth the price tag and nothing to remember about.
I was ready for an amazing meal but was really disappointed. Maybe it's just what we ordered, but the only one worth talking about is the Razor Clams which were delicious. Otherwise, everything else was either too bland (croquetas de bacalao), too greasy (pork croqueta) or just not impressive (fideos). I love Battali's other restaurants, but Casa Mono didn't hit the mark for me. I might try again during dinner and get different dishes (other than the clams), but for brunch this is a huge pass for me.
Fantastic food and service
We have been coming here for 10 years, never disappointed with any of their dishes or wine.
Restaurant Week- The food was well prepared but the entree portion wouldn’t have fed a pigeon. It was more of a snack than a meal. The dessert was awful- Two stale cinnamon buns around some ice cream. Way below Casa Mono’s standards.
I ordered octopus and it was really hard. My husband ordered the bone marrow and he really enjoyed it.
It was one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time!
We had an amazing experience celebrating our anniversary! We’ve been there many times but Fernando made it extra special. Thank you!!
Visited Casa Mono for NY Restaurant Week & wasn’t disappointed. The food is impressively fresh & the staff is very attentive (they came over to level our table).
When I got to Casa Mono, I was a little cranky. But the staff there were so patient and attentive, my bad mood disappeared quickly. The food was outstanding and my best friend, who is not food adventurous, said he would love to go back and try some of the other dishes. He thought the mussels were spectacular! I’m definitely looking forward to visiting this place again.
Serving size is not enough and very small
We reconnend the Pulpo with grapefruit, grilled sardines, fried quail, scallops with green curry.
If possible, sit at the kitchen counter to watch the masters at work.
Beware of the loud sound volume of the venue, it is not rimantic but fine for a casual dinner.
This is one of our favorite spots but the food was not as memorable tonight as it usually is

The food was simply amazing. Even thought they are tapas (small portions) the food is really worth trying. The service was also great. everyone was so attentive. I am definitely going back!
Casa Mono is always the best food and wine period. When I eat at the bar I always meet interesting people and have great conversations. The waitstaff are friendly and helpful and well versed on the food. Order the razor clams. They will make you happy!
I had been to Casa Mono several times in the last decade. Last time I went was probably two or three years ago. Since then the quality of the food has decreased while the value went up. Portions were smaller, flavors more bland, and every dish lacked that special kick that made Casa Mono one of my favorite places back in the day.
Food was excellent as usual. The staff at the bar counter was little unfriendly, that was sad.
It was outstanding came into New York City for a quick 48 hour weekend and it was one of the best places we went to!!!
Food was delicious!! Great wine choices also! We will be back ...
Great wine bar with perfect sized and different tapas. Not the standard italian Mario Batalli comfort food.
Absolutely delicious food, we sat at the bar so we could see how they cook! Don’t miss it! Well deserved that Michelin star!
Food was good, and I knew going in that it was a tapas restaraunt but I really wasn't expecting 3 scallops to split with my other friend. The jamón was really good too, same with the steak! I'd check it out for sure
Great place and food
Casa mini, year after year, doesn’t deceive
Extraordinary mix of flavors
