Minuscule portions. $7 dollar wines sold for $80 but this is nyc these days. I wonder what would be the benefit/cost advantage of adding one more scallop to a $22 plate ...ummh. Those scallops are great btw!

Seating was poor
Have absolutely nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. From the service to the ambience to the food it was delightful. Only one problem, we didn’t get to taste everything on the menu. So now we will have to go back! Waiters explained every dish and made great suggestions for us as well. You must have a reservation as the place was really busy

2nd time I have had lunch at Casa Mono. I love sampling lots of different things and the wide variety of the menu is perfect. The chef has taken some creative license with traditional Spanish tapas and in every instance I tried, the outcome was delicious. I have not eaten a lot of goat in my lifetime but I will certainly order goat when I next return to Casa Mono! Great desserts as well.
Beautiful food, loved it. Well cooked, nice mix of ingredients. Would be great to see some more healthy (or healthier) choices. A little overpriced for the shared plates. Service was excellent.

Casa Mono is my favorite restaurant in NYC. And I was surprised to find that at lunchtime it is kid-friendly.

Very few customers for lunch so not much ambiance. Nice decor. Imaginative, tasteful and satisfying tapas overall although a bit uneven - some exquisite like fois gras, some less so like serano ham on baguette. Very pleasant house wine. Overall a nice place for a light and tasty lunch.
1/2 bottle of magnum wine was spilled however we only received $20 back out of a $275 bottle of wine.

Despite what we were told portions are not tapas sizes and too heavy . The marrow with three 5 inches half bones was huge. The sitting is very cramped. The food is good but not at the expected level given the one Michelin star.
Fantastic tapas in a fun atmosphere. Great Spanish wine list. Be sure the order the ensalada Mono, razor clams, and scallops. Also the whole animal menu is phenomenal. Sit at the chef counter and watch the plates fly. Enjoy.

Excellent cuisine, but a bit too rushed. I took my daughter here for lunch. We ordered four dishes - (1) Confit Goat with Avocado Queso, Scallion Ash, and Pistachios; (2) Creamy Eggs with Sea Urchin, Walnuts, Lime and Ancient Anchovy Oil; (3) Fluke Crudo with Blood Orange, Lemon and Ancho Dust; and (4) Scallops with Serrano Pepper Green Curry and Minted Cashews. All four were very good but only two were outstanding. Both of us found the creamy eggs with sea urchin just a bit too rich. We loved the confit goat and the avocado in that dish was extraordinary (seemed to be grilled, bursting with flavor). We also loved the scallops with green curry. The fluke crude was okay but not that interesting. So we'd go there again, but we'd be careful about ordering. However, one thing that wasn't great is that we were essentially rushed through our meal. Between when we arrived and when we got our bill was maybe 30 or 40 minutes. A bit too fast for any Michelin starred restaurant. Not sure how to get them to slow down.

amazing amazing food! didnt really look into the menu beforehand but they serve small plates which are the perfect size for two people. my boyfriend and i ordered six plates and it was just the right amount of food. we loved the pork belly and scallops!
Our soft eggs with Uni was done perfectly. The small plates of quail and fois gras were tender & delicious. Bread pudding and Crema Catalana were yummy.

Impressive was manager Jahdea who was most friendly and attentive, checking on us frequently to make sure every plate was to our satisfaction. Casa Mono is lucky to have such outstanding manager.
Space is very tight and can be a bit uncomfortable. While food was excellent, service was a bit unprofessional. They were nice and friendly, however, they brought items out of order after insisting that we order all items at once.
This was my third time to visit Casa Mono , last time was a couple of years ago and it was so good I wanted to go again. It wasn’t that good. The croquetas de bacalao were too cooked so you couldn’t taste the fish at all. The service was very good.

A birthday dinner for a friend. I have eaten at Casa Mono many times. The food is always superb and the tapas format allows one to sample a variety of unusual dishes. The creamy eggs with sea urchin was my favorite. The seating is very tight which is why I prefer to eat at the bar. What is my overall assessment of Casa Mono? I don’t return to a restaurant that doesn’t satisfy my quest for great food. As I said at the beginning, I have eaten at Casa Mono many times.
One of the best restaurants in the city!! You have to try the Spanish sobrasada and Foie gras with cinco cebollas, everything on the menu was so good!!
Service is poor but food is delicious.
