We arrived about 20 min early for our reservation and the host said our table was not yet ready. Understandably, we asked if we could have a drink at the bar and he said unfortunately those seats are reserved for people that are coming. So we said, ok we’ll go to the bar next door and come back. He quickly replied unfortunately Bar Jamon is closed for a private party. I didn’t even know the bar around the corner belonged to the same chain. So I said, ok what do you suggest we do then? I mean, it isNYC and I assumed there was more than one bar to go to. He said there’s a bar across the street, and then he said, oh wait. The private event is done at Bar Jamon. You can go there. We didn’t. We went across the street and were texted by an unknown number at 8:21pm, “your seats are ready. Please come to the host within 10 minutes of receiving this message.” Then I received a phone call from a different number at 8:27Pm from the same rude host telling us our table was ready and if we were on our way. We were literally right across the street. We went over at 8:30 exactly. They offered to take my coat while dealing with another couple at their entrance. He pointed to our seats and said you’re over there in the corner. We were not sat or directed with menus. He took my coat but not my brothers and I had to hand him my coat and go around the couple the we’re trying to assist. Our waiter did not introduce himself or make a connection or even discuss the menu. I don’t even know how he would have given the tight space we were in. The only thing I can say is the food was delicious. Of course on exiting the same host from early merely said, how did you like everything. I mean my brother is only in town for three nights and I used up one of them on this AWFUL HORRIBLE service. Michelin star? Maybe once upon a time. If the host hadn’t been so abrupt and rude on our arrival, I may have had a different opinion but the server did nothing above and beyond to change my mind.

The waiter was very rude and impatient. He seemed like he hated his job…
