Great food but horrible service. It was 15 minutes before we got even a glass of water!! We ordered wine which took another 15 minutes to appear. Even with a reservation we were seated at the worst table in the restaurant -- tucked against a wall of wine bottles -- and we insisted that we move. The food at Casa Mono is truly wonderful but they've squeezed in far too many tables for the space and the service staff is overwhelmed! IF we were to return, we'd sit at the bar where the staff seemed more attentive.

We had a wonderful meal at the chefs counter (where I in fact prefer to eat at CM). Clean flavors, flawless execution and sublime wine. Don’t miss the foie gras.

Wonderful food and great wines. A little cramped - we didn’t realize how tiny the place was, but we managed. The food made it totally worth it. Would definitely return.
Consistently magnificent flavors, spectacularly deep wine list and expert service. A bit less consistent is service, which ranges from terrific to somewhat inattentive. Our sommelier seemed to be doing the heavy lifting for most aspects of our meal, which may have allowed our primary server to neglect replenishing our water. A minor criticism of an overall wonderful experience with vibrant flavors and cheerful staff.
All was excellent: food and services, only the music was a bit too loud when we almost finished around 7pm.
Food turned out not to be that good. The service was very slow between plates. Some dishes had to be sent back twice to cook more.
We came to enjoy a trip past memory lane fro our vacation to Madrid. With an extensive Spanish wine list and the traditional dishes offered we were able to reminisce in the way we had hoped. We will be back!
We were crammed into a table so close to the window only our skinny kids could sit in those seats. The room is small, busy but very quiet. Whilst clearing our table between courses, a server managed to both almost shove me off my seat whilst squeezing between my wife and I and then spilled on me clearing a plate. Food wise, the level has gone down since our last visit in late 2017. The Patatas Bravas has moved from sublime to ridiculous and you have to search for tiny pieces of fingerling potato between oceans of sauce and onions(?). The Sobrasada and Razor Clams were amazing though. Overall a little disappointing.
It’s always exceptional. The food is off the charts... the wine selection is staggering, and the joy of watching the chillest chefs in the city casually throw together these little plates of gustatory art is unmatched.
Sit at the bar if you can. The restaurant is small and cozy - doesn’t feel cramped, just intimate and exciting. At the bar you can watch the chefs making everything in the kitchen behind the bar, which was really fun. This was a great meal - excellent wine recommendations by the staff and the food was amazing. Lives up to the hype.
This is my go to for business lunches. It’s typically not over crowded, so you get the benefit of even more attentive service, plus, Jahdea, the host and sommelier, is awesome and always makes me feel like a rock star!
I was expecting excellent food but not everything was as good as expected.
We have visited the place years ago and was excellent.
Portions are small which I don’t mind when the food is delicious.
Of our 6 orders we found only 3 very good, sardines, croquetas and spaghetti with clams and chorizo which was the best.
Service was ok.
Dessert was good different.

My partner loves this place and always asks to dine there when we are in NYC. Food is consistently great with thoughtful preparations. She loves the Sweetbreads and I love the Skirt Steak but had an excellent Lamb Chop this last time. Wine menu in Spanish is a bit confusing at times but staff help you navigate it. The only negative is the table spaces are very cramped in most of the restaurant. Overall we keep coming back so that says something.
Some dishes are really good -- e.g., the pan con tomate and, according to a friend, the scallops. But there's too much deep fat frying -- e.g., the soaked in fat sweetbreads and sardines. And some dishes are meager -- e.g., the duck breast and the baby squid. The sommelier upsells. According to him, there are no good bottles under $75.00. The noise is deafening in this tiny place. Our server was excellent.
Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Loved the ensalada, razor clams, pulpo, setas, confit goat, scallops. New plancha cook was on point. Great service from Stacey. Counter seating a must.

Service was great. Food was pretty good. However, cheese served on salad was just the crust.
I ordered the 5 spice lamb chop. They told me that it would take sometime to cook. When all entrees were served they told me my order was never launched so I had to quickly change to another dish to be able to eat with everyone else.
I was surprised to see they charged me for my dish when they made a horrible mistake for a Michelin rated star.
We went in a week day lunch taking advantage of the restaurant week menu, the food did not disappoint, very up to par ingredients served . Table service good . Last minute , had to changed from 3 to 2 person for dining but the phone did not pick up until my third trials
Charming smaller restaurant. Loved the tiled floor . Food is unusual. Service friendly. Good location if you have been shopping at 14th St stores.

If I hang out with close friends, I always choose this restaurant. Every dishes are great and savory. its a bit noisy but no problem for me.

I had great hopes for this restaurant. I went for lunch with a friend during restaurant week. Understanding it’s a tapas restaurant, the portions did not meet its description of lunch. I had Bacalao croquettes to start. Yes the cod is salted, but it was overly salted. The sauce was heavy and unappealing. So the dish was heavy on heavy. For my main I had Gazpacho with Dorado. The postage size piece of fish was tasty. Sadly the soup was more of a sauce (very thick). The wine, a Navarro rose was great. The restaurant itself is very small and tightly packed tables. Service was perfectly fine. The restaurant has a Michelin Rosette and so I left confused. Unless the restaurant week menu was an afterthought, perhaps the main menu is better. It’s a sad thing when restaurant week is many times the initial introduction to the cuisine of a restaurant. It didn’t work. I ned not return.

Went for restaurant week lunch and they had an extensive menu. Had dorado with gazpacho for main course which was excellent with perfectly cooked dorado. Salad with manchego for first course which was simple but well done. Outstanding chocolate can galleta for dessert. The room is kind of small with moderate noise level when half full at lunch. I suspect higher energy in evening when tables full.
The waiter seems very upset when I asked for balsamic vinegar because it is a Spanish restaurant. When I asked for any vinegar at all, he told me he has sherry vinegar but he is sure I won't like it. We waited for an hour between our appetizer to main entry. The over all experience was poor
Place is small, but food is delicious. Price is decent. Nice place, worthy a try.

Wow!! Just wow!! Aside from the seating being a little tight, the food was just outstanding and the service was on point the entire night!! The Black Bass was incredible!! Why the sauce is not served here in the US more is astounding to me!! Oxtail stuffed peppers was amazing!!! Red snapper was incredible!!! 5 spice rack of lamb was cooked to perfection!! No wonder this is a Michelin restaurant!!! Worthy of all the accolades!!!!! What an experience!!! Run don’t walk down here!! It’s small so make a reservation!
