I went there with a girlfriend and she’s gluten free so she ordered the truffle risotto which was amazing and I ordered the lasagna which was a bit underwhelming, but still good. Wouldn’t get the truffle fries again ($17), as it was an Italian restaurant and was hoping it would taste more truffle-y. We also ordered a glass of wine. I ordered the Malbec and she initially ordered a Pinot noir which the waitress highly suggested and then sent it back because it didn’t taste like wine. Pricing was a bit high for what we got. The decor is was interesting and location was close to freeway entrance so it was a bit noisy. Overall it was enjoyable and I would consider going back again if not just for the truffle.
The food was amazing. One of those hole in the wall places that's insanely delicious. Authentic Italian at its best. Definitely going back soon and have told others as well.
Food & service was excellent. However, be ready to pay for the quality & service. $$$$
Best Italian. So good
Good food and service… wonderful ambiance. We are most pleased .
The absolute best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. We will be regulars for life.
Pretty good Italian food. They are really into truffles. The location isn’t so cool but the place is very cozy and charming
Delicious food, met the chef, really lovely man. The space feels a bit run down. Quiet and the food makes it worth it
Wonderful to meet the owner, head chef, amazing food and sweet atmosphere. I had a great date with my husband!
The food was amazing.
There was a custom dish which was a spaghetti with sea food and it was marvelous.
Additionally, the risotto is very good.
Real, fresh and delicious Italian food from the Modena region. No meatballs, no garlic bread and no pizza. This is a high end restaurant and the food is amazing. Service is always friendly and the restaurant space is unique and very interesting in it's own right, like a shrine to Italian cuisine and culture.
We went for DineLA and it utterly amazing. The food was to die for and the service at Casa Modena is outstanding!
Great hospitality and food is delicious!!
Great Italian, highly recommended. The specials are 9/10 awesome.
Took my girlfriend here on a date, and we both loved it. Attentive, friendly service, nice atmosphere, and incredible food.
Food was phenomenal and service was exceptional.
The place is super cozy and romantic. Please don’t slip the sea food pasta OMG delicious
The most delicious dinner and perfectly romantic ambiance. The owner made us feel like we were back in Italy. A place not to miss!!
My husband and I love Casa Modena. We have had dinner there twice and everything we have tried was delicious. I highly recommend the truffle fries, lasagne and panna cotta.
Wonderful evening, owner sent some great bites and suggested a fabulous Italian wine. We had a great evening!
Pay for the tortellini with black truffle and they filled the space of the plate with another pasta (not tortellini) , and I paid 45 usd for that dish .... so a completely failure.
Risotto was good but not extraordinary.
Truffle Fries, meh .....
Too expensive and food was just okay. Owner was nice but overall meh. Tasted and felt very basic.
Such a cute restaurant, truly made me feel like I was in Italy! The truffle risotto is a MUST as well as the pumpkin ravioli. Our server was so knowledgeable and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!
The hospitality is excellent, the food is superb, lovely ambiance, good for a romantic dinner or get together with friends. One of our favorite places to eat. SO charming and tasty!
We had such a fun, nice dinner at Casa Modena! The food, atmosphere, and service were all great and exceeded expectations. We can’t wait to come back!
We went for DineLA for our first Casa Modena experience. It was all around exquisite! The food was not only beautifully plated but tasted out of this world. They definitely do not skimp out on the truffles! Stand outs were definitely the burrata crostini, truffle pasta and lobster ravioli. So glad for things like DineLa because it brought us in and now we will definitely be back!
Amazing customer service!
Love this place. Authentic, delicious, great service. It’s a hidden gem especially if you’re into truffles.
Great place to go to for good Italian food. Funky ambience makes it a fun place to go!
Fantastic authentic Italian food!
Amazing food and ambiance! The best truffle pasta!
Wonderful food and warm caring attentive service, we will be back soon and often!
The food was amazing and the staff were warm and inviting. The eggplant appetizer and panna cotta was phenomenal!
Everything was fantastic - from the food to the ambiance to the service. A really cute restaurant tucked away in a random strip mall but the food and experience speak for themselves!
Nice quaint place. I had the Lobster Ravioli and it was great.
Went for the dine la special, $59 for prix fixe 3 courses and desert.
Showed up the first day of Dine LA for a 7pm reservation and immediately they inform us they are out of the meatballs, one of three apps choices. How in the world are they out of one of nine menu items early on the first night.
First course: crostini with burrata and shaved black truffle. I was shocked to see the heaping amount of truffle shaved over the 6 crostini’s (2 orders) they placed in from of me and my date. Once I tasted the extremely bland flavor and chalky texture of the truffles I understood. Simply poor quality. The dish was also severely under seasoned.
Second course: spinach tagliatelle with meat sauce, and a lobster ravioli in saffron cream sauce. The tagliatelle was very overcooked, pasta was soft and soggy, not even close to al dente. The meat sauce was lackluster and tasted like salt and beef. The ravioli on the other hand was undercooked. The lobster inside had a fishy quality. It tasted frozen, and did not have the sweet savory flavor of fresh lobster.
At this point complained to the waiter who then brought out the owner. I politely as I could expressed my dissatisfaction with the meal. He ensured me I was the only guest who had complained all night. Looking around the room, I was not surprised, it did not look like a crowd who could know and appreciate good Italian food.
Took our third course to go, a New York steak dish and a pan grilled sea bass dish. Tried a bite each back home and they were equally unimpressive. Seemed like poor quality ingredients cooked lazily.
All in all, If you are looking for Italian in the west side, this is not the place. Overpriced, poor quality, don’t make the same mistake I did and spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
Good service, cute restaurant but food was stone cold
One of my friends recommended me this place and we had black truffle pasta, french fries and Filetto E Spinach. Those were so great and tasty! The service was great too. It was my first time visiting but I will definitely to go this place again.
Each time we eat at this place, we rave about the food. It is homemade Italian food that is truly special and delicious. The place is cute, homey, a perfect reflection of the owner and his mother who started it all.
The only issue we have, and why we don't visit more often, is that the prices are high, especially for the amount of food served. The portions are small, you will not leave this restaurant stuffed; frankly I'm very ok with that part. But to pay $200 for four thin/healthy people, without alcohol, and leave not full, seems like a lot.
So this is a special occasion place for us, because again, the food is outstanding.
