What Insiders Are Saying
Casa Enrique is home to the best Mexican food in New York City, and we bet you've never heard of it. Time to get acquainted with Long Island City.
We went with friends who weren't spice or cilantro enthusiasts, although we did not know that when we proffered the invite. Oh well! We tried the guacamole, 4 other appetizers- ceviche, sopacitos, tostadas and fried oysters. Each of us had an entree. Seriously, I could make an entire meal of the appetizers and skip the entree. Hotness level was just right for me and I didn't need extra salsa. For my entree I tried the fish with elote. The title is a bit deceptive, not elote- esquite, and made with sweet corn. Tasted like sweet corn in a chili enhanced broth. It was tasty but not what I anticipated. Choose your dinner companions carefully and go heavy on the appetizers! And margaritas! We particularly liked that service did not seem rushed. We did not feel pressured to make the entire order at once so, with the right dinner companions, you could try different things and decide what else to try as you go along. More ceviche, please!
Sublime. The guacamole, the cheviche, each mouthful was devine.
Drinks were ok. Service perfect and food real good.
Friendly staff. Perfectly cooked Black Sea bass and scallops. Delicious rice & beans. Tasty drinks. Will be back.
GOOD, real Mexican food and such great service. Worth a trip to LIC!
Made reservations 5 weeks ago. Totally worth the wait! Excellent Saturday“date night”. Service and food was impeccable!
This is just the most consistent and best Mexican food and mixed drink restaurant in the US. Yes there are other nearby Michelin starred Mexican restaurants in NYC but NONE compare. Highlights include the BEST soursop Margarita, unbelievable Mole chicken, carne asada, lamb shank, and tres leches cake.
Great food, drinks, service and ambiance, but not so great that it should command month-ahead reservations for a table for two for a weeknight dinner (or a Michelin star).
Authentic and delicious! good service, excellent cocktails and to die for tacos. Did I mention the guac. I'm addicted!
We definitely wanted this place to be a WOW factor and while it’s def good it’s not what we had hoped for!
I would say it’s the best mexican food in town and the ambiance is great! I recommend making a reservation if you dont want to have a bit of a wait
Excellent experience once again. By far the best Mexican food I have had outside of México and abuelita's kitchen. The depths of their salsas, mole and guisados are remarkable. We had the special oyster appetizer and the scallops which were both delicious, smoky and the perfect amount of heat. Additionally we had a couple of favorites, the crab tostadas, guacamole and ceviche. Entrees included the lamb, pole con mole and the ribs, accompanied by homemade tortillas that are hard to come by in nyc. Gustavo our server was a pleasure too. Looking forward to our next visit.
Great food, little crowded, but will be back in the future
I have been many times at this place, never disappointed!
Amazing authentic Mexican food. Highly recommended
Great service, amazing food!!!
All the waiters were wonderful. Took my boyfriend and they secretly got him a tres leeches cake and sang to him! They were so attentive and the food was phenomenal
The food was absolutely delicious, with the tender skirt steak appetizer and flavorful and nuanced mole entree on the brunch menu were standouts. The pollo with salsa verde was delicate and divine. Fresh squeezed orange juice is also an elixir. The chocolate pot de creme was quite simply divine in every way. Service and ambiance were pretty good. I highly recommend Casa Enrique for brunch with friends or family due to its low key vibe.
Amazing food and drinks! And definitely one of the best dessert I’ve tried in nyc. Highly recommended, worth the wait, had to book two weeks in advance but happy with the experience. Server and busser where very kind and attentive. Thank you all
Food great as always, services was fine. Decor does need some help, not looking for a traditional mexican sarapes, bur yet a better decoration and more comfortable chairs and tables.
Just amazing! Not my first time in this places and I’m always pleased, from the quality of the food to the service! Thank you for this lovely dinner!! Highly recommended
Overall was good, the food came out in the wrong order but was very delicious.
Delicious food. Reservation is honored timely. Great for kids
I went for Sunday brunch and it was delicious. I had the enchiladas and my wife had eggs. Both were yummy. We also split a delicious dessert.
A superb place to eat. The food was terrific, the ambiance was nice and the owners were friendly and down to earth.
Authentic Mexican food at its best by far one of the better places to eat Mexican food around the world. Great job, bravo to you, I will definitely be back.
Had an amazing post Valentine’s Day dinner with my girlfriend.
Very great drinks and starters. The main courses were too hot for our kids - unfortunately the waiter did not point that out.
We loved everything about Casa Enrique, from the friendly greeting at the door to the delicious food. The waitress brought me out a taste of the salsa verde sauce when I was concerned about how spicy it would be. It was the best salsa verde I have ever had. And the mole was perfection. Still thinking about it and cannot wait to go back.
I see why they received a Michelin star. The service was amazing as was the food. I am telling everyone about this place!
Food and customer service is great but the noise level at the room we stayed was horrible. It was very uncomfortable.
The acoustic panels don't work at all. I could barely hear the server.
Also, we get it, you're super busy. But to ask a table to leave so you can seat the next group is ridiculous. Make fewer bookings in a day.
Everything I ate was exceptional. From the margaritas, to the chips, to the incredible desserts. I can’t wait to go back!
Very loud. Service is good but there seems to be the impulse to get you in and out to turn the tables. Lots of hovering. Food is good.
Food was delicious. Cocktails were fresh, fruity and herby. We sampled a few items and shared which is the way to go. The only downside is we felt rushed. There were lines of people waiting. And server was polite but checked on us a lot hurrying us along. I would have like to savor food more.
yes very authentic, very friendly they make you feel very welcome, great food
Always a pleasure to have authentic family recipes from Mexico City, here in NYC
Had an amazing experience with great food and great service
As exemplary as the first visit. Dishes are unapologetically seasoned. Delicious! Regresaré pronto!
