Dining at Casa Enrique was by far one of the best dine-ins I have had, being a culinary student. I got the chance to savor the flavors that Chef Cosme had used to make his dishes taste the way they do. Would I come back again? Most definitely! And this time maybe get a chance to speak with Chef Cosme too.
Graciously kept a table for us despite our late arrival due to weather. Very good affordable wine list and excellent food. Would have loved a more spicy mole with pork. If it is ever added to the menu as a special I would like to reserve a table that day
This was the second time in Casa Enrique, and we totally enjoyed the food as we expected. The service was outstanding, and the environment was cozy. Highly recommended!
Wonderful top notch place for Mexican food. Dishes are well balanced and flavoured.
Fantastic! Best Mexican in the city
Little bit expensive and cramped. But the food and service were great. Bold flavors and a cool location.
Good food but nothing extra special in terms of service or food.
Starting with the walk in, greeted warmly and promptly shown to our table. Drink order quickly taken and delivered with nibbles on the table. Three sauces were introduced hot, mild, and green. Hit was hot, mild used roasted tomatoes and had good flavor, green also had a similar char but very cooling. Definitely work your way from green to hot. Waitress was all smiles and took our order. Food came pretty quickly starting with the guacamole and 2 lengua tacos. The chips and tortilla was awesome. Guacamole was really good. The lengua super tender and plentiful. Then came the chicken mole and lamb. First time having mole and it was unique. Sweet, bitter, very complex flavors. The chicken was super tender. Lamb shank had plenty of meat and tender as well. Both came with rice and beans, as well as more tortilla shells. Finished with the tres leches which was just the right amount of sweetness. Will definitely be coming back to try other dishes.
Best Mexican Food in USA
The food was excellent and my margarita was unforgettable. My Husband and I will definitely come back soon.
Much better years ago. The Michelin star just caused prices to go way up and food portions down.
Guacamole with chips was good but for $16 was too small. Tacos were a joke. My wife wanted to order a pozole soup which she loves and ate here several times, but went up from about $14 to $22. So she chose some tacos. Two insanely small and bland tacos for $17. There is a food truck one block away which you can get a taco for 1/4 price and ten times better. Sangria was so so.
Very dissapointed, not coming back!
Delicious food, great service.
My friends raved about the dishes with mole sauce, but can't say the tacos I had blew me away. Service was pretty average. Our waiter had to be reminded a couple of times to take a friend's drink order.
Amazing food and really good value. Drinks are also good, but the restaurant could get a better wine list.
One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. Exceptional service, extremely professional, great atmosphere. Food was outstanding
Amazing menu even better service. Great atmosphere I love my time here. Spectacular food
I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday. We both got "Mole de Piaxtla" and both thought the food representation was beautiful and tasty. The service was very fast! Would definitely return to try more dishes.
Too loud to actually carry a conversation
Truly a great restaurant worth going to. The food is simply delicious. The ambiance is low key and great service
Best Mexican food in the NYC area hands-down (coming form a native Mexican ... who loves food...)
Too bad our waitress had a bad day and offered not-that-great service....
Amazing shrimp cocktail & molé, but everything is surely worthwhile. The cocktails were quite flavorful, and dessert is not to be missed. Horchata was delightful. Will return when my wallet allows!
Was there to Celebrate a Birthday, this restaurant never disappoints, great authentic Mexican & Excellent Service. Well Worth it, Highly Recommend.
My boyfriend and I came here last minute on a Monday night. It was such a perfect little date. The server was very sweet and explained all the specials to us. My pineapple mojito was not too sweet - it was perfect. The food came up promptly and was absolutely delicious. I’m a vegetarian so I got the Blanco Enchiladas and they were amazing. My boyfriend is Mexican and said this is the closest he’s ever come to tasting food like his mom’s authentic! The server recommended the Cheese Ice Cream for dessert and it was AMAZING. My boyfriend doesn’t have a sweet tooth and even he wanted more!
Wonderful experience all around. Craving those enchiladas again!
Excellent restaurant, menu delicious, excellent service great location
The food was disappointing for a Michelin star restaurant but very good for a regular restaurant.
Service was excellent!
Case Enrique is our favorite place for a celebratory dinner and drinks (without breaking the bank or having to dress up)! Could not any more love for this place!
Excellent food and service. Cocktail hit the spot as did the food. The noise level is tough to deal with, however. But great place. Can't wait to go again.
Great food but servings were a bit small.
Excellent food, nice environment. Love it. The taste of their plates were excellent
Excellent meal at Casa Enrique. The guacamole is a must try. My wife really enjoyed her tacos (although they don’t offer flour tortillas) and my Branzino (not on menu, was chef special) was prepared immaculately. Easily one of the best tasting fish entrees I’ve ever had!
Food and atmosphere was excellent! Will return over and over to experience all items on menu.
Amazing, food was great and staff was very accommodating
Always such a treat to go to Casa Enrique. Service is amazing, food is consistent and well...the enchiladas verde speak for themselves (AMAZING!). As Texans we are always looking for great Mexican in NYC and it’s easier said than done. Casa Enrique has become a quick favorite.
FOOD - We got the pineapple pork and fish avocado tacos which were tasty, but not mind-blowing. The carrots were very sour, and the poof of avocado droplet on the side was very messy to eat with. I guess they were trying to "elevate" the look and work with its plating, but I'm not sure it worked. Then we got the Menudo soup, that was a little too rich (very salty) for us. Again, I feel like they're trying too hard to "elevate" comfort food.
SERVICE - The waitress we not was friendly or welcoming at all. When asked to reiterate their cocktail specials, she seemed very impatient. It definitely made the experience quite unpleasant.
AMBIANCE - It's cute and cozy.
Maybe we just ordered the wrong food because we left wondering how is this a Michelin one star place?
Great food great drinks.
Still the best mexican restaurant ive ever been to. Great food.,
Greatest food in NYC, the tacos are out of this world
The best Mexican meal that I have had by far. All of the food was prepared perfectly with unique flavors and beautiful presentation. Will recommend and will revisit the next time that I am in NYC.
