   We have dined several times at Casa Don Alfonso for breakfast/brunch. Last time was in May. Between May and today they have fired staff and/or staff have resigned for some reason. Regardless, I doubt that we return. The prior people that ran service were fantastic as it ran like clockwork and was professional. Today, was literally like dining at a Burger joint. The other thing that I noticed was the very rude and rough clientele and at one point wondered if they were accepting coupons. A restaurant this aesthetically pleasing that is inside a Ritz Carlton should ooze refinement, excellence, and professionalism. Again, I do not know what happened for most of the staff to turnover but what ever the reason the outcome is not appealing.

   Felt like eating tapas style. Had THE BEST pea soup 🍲 n my life! , Mediterranean salad with eggplants, topped off with truffle pizza! Amazing food, amazing service. I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find a good cocktail because of different cocktails every so often, and found an awesome one on Amalfitano!!! Thank you Dallas, Luis and thank you executive sous chef Yalçın for an AWESOME experience❤️❤️❤️

   Lovely experience - service was well choreographed and not over bearing. Sommelier was very helpful with suggestions and information about their cellar. Food was very good and the shrimp were cooked just right. We had one of their pizzas and the crust was also just right. Tables were well spaced and we could talk in a normal voice and be heard. A nice place for a semi-casual meal.

    One of the most beautiful restaurants in St Louis. The food was amazing. The service was impeccable. Brock our waiter and Paul our other server were so attentive and wonderful. Will be back!

    Casa Don Alfonso is a great experience overall. We had the ability to sit at the chefs counter to fully watch all pizzas and bursts caprese salads being made right in front of us. Staff was incredibly polite and accommodating and our server was amazing. We were greeted with fresh bread and high quality olive oil to dip. From there, we had several different things off the menu - almost all items we shared to have a little bit of flavor from all over - everything from Tuna Tartare to fresh Tomato & Basil Soup. I thoroughly enjoyed the homemade fresh tagliatelle with shrimp as my entree - which is completely dairy free. It had so much flavor without sitting so so heavy. I would 100% return here and look forward to our meeting t experience.

    The food at Casa Don Alfonso is outstanding. The service is great. The ambiance is amazing. We had dinner this time but we have also eaten breakfast there many times. The food is always fresh, tastes great and is high quality. Everyone who works here is very friendly and accommodating.

    Always wanted to go here. Sat at the counter with my date. EXCELLENT service. Really cool looking place. Very open and bright. Beef carpaccio was very good as an appetizer. Mediterranean salad was okay. Fresh focaccia was good for bread service. Before the entrees, my date and I shared a pea soup. Very flavorful. For our main meals, my date got the gnocchi and I got the meatballs. Watching the kitchen, it looked like the lasagna was flying out. I was jealous. Gnocchi was good. Meatballs we’re just okay. I’d get something else next time. They were supposed to be on top of polenta. The polenta was VERY watery and just blended into the tomato sauce the meatballs were on. I’d give it another shot. Be prepared to spend some coin.

    It was really good experience for me and my wife. We went there for our Frist Year Anniversary. I’ve been there before too. I Love their ambience and that was the reason I chose this place for our Anniversary Dinner. Their food was really delicious. I would say more Authentic, like how Margarita Pizza should be or those Pastas. The recipe is very authentic. Staffs were very friendly, everywhere from valet to dining. I do highly recommend this place to people who actually know food. Also, their drinks were nice. I asked them if they could do something for our anniversary, some kind of surprise for my wife. Someone from their team called me, ask for a picture. And it was printed inn a dessert. That was super cool. She really loved it. Just one thing to mention, from open table, they only allow booking in the chef area. For tables, you will need to call them and reserve. They might move you at the table but this place can be full house too.

    Ebony our server was a delight. Food was good but not exceptional. Dinner was pricey ($60 each) but not as outrageous as one would expect from a Michelin restaurant. Lovely ambience. No need to return.

    I took my out of town New York friends for dinner looking to impress them with what St Louis had to offer. I had such high hopes for this place, but unfortunately it fell short in some important ways. Namely, the pasta. On the advice of our server I had the citrus scented tagliatelle. It lacked flavor and the pasta itself wasn't cooked properly. My friend had Grandma's Ziti and instead of al dente, it was uncooked and hard. (FYI I am half Italian and know good pasta.) My husband had the meatballs and they were delicious. And made us all envious. The highlight was the truffle pizza and even though it was $60 we agreed it was worth it. The desserts were fine. But, all and all, if I was to come back I would sit at the bar and just have a pizza margherita and a glass of wine.
