We met some friends for dinner to try their Restaurant Week three course menu. Upon arrival (with reservations) we were immediately seated and told our waitress that our two friends would be there soon. About 3-minutes later the waitress came back and asked if we were ready to order dinner. We told her that we were still waiting on our friends and asked her if we could order some drinks. After our friends arrived and we all had drinks we placed our order and soon three of our four appetizers came out, but we waited about 5 minutes before the last appetizer came out. The Aguachile Camaron's (shrimp) were very acidic and needed more guacamole or something to cut back on the acidity. The Chicaharron Pork Belly served with green salsa and guacamole was very good, the pork was crispy on the outside, tender and tasty on the inside. Then the main entrées came out, my wife had the Asodo Puerco (pork) and it didn't have any flavor, but neither did the rice or beans just no seasoning or distinguishing taste. I had the Braised Short Rib with mole sauce, the rib was not tender you had to cut it up, paired with the mole sauce and mashed potatoes made it better, but it was still chewy. For dessert I had the Choco Flan, not sure it should have been called Flan, it was more or a dry chocolate cake texture, my wife had the Arroz Leche (rice pudding with cinnamon), however there was very little cinnamon, and it did not leave a good taste in your mouth. The other thing that became a growing issue was the music, when our dinner started it was a nice background volume so we could easily talk, we ended up leaving earlier than we wanted to because the music was so loud, we were practically yelling at each other across the table. It was a very expensive meal, plus having to navigate and pay to park downtown, not worth the 45-minute drive. It was great to see our friends, but I don't see us eating here again.

Very disappointed with temperature of food. The enchiladas were cold and flat. Portions small and prices high. We won’t be back.

Everything we ordered was amazing and the flavors were fantastic. My only constructive feedback is 1) lady waitress we had was just not paying attention and not following through with basically anything - drinks we ordered, ready to pay, needing refills. The guy with the thin moustache was the opposite and very helpful. 2) the short ribs with mojo were surprisingly a bit dry but flavor was great. Would love to come here again.

Ordered Enchiladas Cremosas- Sauce was rich, little meat and poor quality + soda was slighty flat and my guest's meal Cheese Enchiladas Rojas had no noticeable cheese. Ambient was decent, tables are small and a crowd makes it hard to use. In addition rest rooms are combined and need combinations to access lol

An absolute Gem of a restaurant. The space has a romantic feel to it and is a great place for a Date night. The food is authentic Mexican and done artistically and with a little heat as is common to many places in Mexico. The Ceviche and Enchilada Rojas were perfection. Our Server; Anise was absolutely wonderful. Her desire to make sure we enjoyed our experience was palpable. On the corner of Jefferson and First which doesn’t necessarily see a lot of foot traffic despite being a busy intersection, this is a Go-To destination restaurant. Go and Thank me later…

Food came quickly, however temperature was low and was generally underwhelming with taste. Wait staff all were very polite but not very attentive. Good if you’re in the area but I wouldn’t consider a destination experience.

Not gonna have the amazing value of a small authentic Mexican restaurant that serves huge portions that send you into a food coma. But, it is still really tasty and the food is high quality. If you’re not too hungry and want someplace with great food this is a good spot. The quesabirrias were amazing but the enchiladas were lacking in filling.

Lovely place. My friend ordered mole, I asked for Tacos Xicali and a side of the corn "ribs." Cocktails are beautiful. Gorgeous coupe glasses, mine with a purple flower, hers had a slice of lime on a toothpick across the top. The corn was delicious. Cut into wedges, sprinkled with cotija cheese and tajin after being grilled. The mole was a small thigh and drumstick covered in a beautiful, brown sauce. She received a small side of rice in a bowl and 3 very thin blue-corn tortillas. Chicken was cooked perfectly & the sauce was good. I believe that was $35. The 3 tacos were tiny. Picture the bottom of a water glass. That was the size of each tortilla. Two tortillas per taco and what could not have been more than a sliver of steak on each. Beautiful & the toppings were tasty. It was served with a quarter of a perfectly grilled onion. DELICIOUS & very authentic, but couldn't taste the steak. My friend shared some of her mole & rice. I am not a big person but I was still hungry after eating my dinner & part of hers. We ordered the arroz con leche and tres leches cake for dessert. The presentation could not have been better. Both were very good. My friend loved the tres leches. The arroz con leche is comfort food & was very good, but not my nana's. The fruit was a nice touch. I enjoyed it. The music was a bit loud. Everyone was very nice. I don't mind paying for great food, but some of the prices seemed disproportionate to what we received. They clearly take a lot of care with their ingredients and presentation so I'm a little torn because the portions that night were very small.
