Turn and burn service - in and out without even finishing a drink. Rushed, tacky atmosphere. They rely on the heavy street traffic in Old Town to justify their service. Skip this spot and head across the street to Cafe Coyote or OTMC (Old Town Mexican Cafe).

I loved how I was able to have lunch with my family and take our fur baby with us on this beautiful day.

THIS is the very best place to eat in Old Town....great food, great and helpful service staff...you will be very satisfied here....and you, like us, will come back again and again....oh and we live a hundred miles away !!!!!

Taco Tuesday was delicious. We enjoyed the wide selection. Queso dip was the best. Must try it. Drinks were large and tasty but not very strong. I’ll go back.

We are in San Diego once a year, and Fred’s is a tradition for us. We always have dinner there on our first night in town, and we are NEVER disappointed!

The legs of one end of our table were seating on top of a broken metal floor drain. Server didn’t pre-bus at all.. we all finished our dinner and every single dirty dish was still on front of us. She loose a great opportunity of upselling more for sure. When the appetizer was deliver to the table it was literally DROP on the table it actually make a noise when out it on the table ... NOT okay ... Three of us work in the industry including a manager, a supervisor and a server. Unfortunately for the server they were several things wrong and hard to missed ... she could it get a much better tip for sure !!! We know how it works but she only got the suggested 20%... Big time missed opportunity for her...

Awesome place as always. Good food good people good time. The staff are always the best. The drinks are amazing and the food is authentically mind-blowing.

Fast excellent service and really great food always brings us back to Fred’s. BUT...Only thing that shocked us this time is that they asked my boyfriend and I to hurry and finish up our dinner after being there for an hour and a half..because “they needed to bring in other guests and each table has a 90minute dining limit.”

Despite us ordering food and drinks and racking up a hefty bill we were asked to pretty much hurry up and leave so other people could be seated. Ruined our date night and No where in the restaurant does it say there is a 90 minute dining limit...

I’ve been here several times and after our experience yesterday...we will not be returning.

During this pandemic we tried lunch at Fred’s based on its outdoor seating. As always, the food was great and we were even more impressed with the safety precautions — acrylic partitions between tables and host and servers wearing masks. We felt very safe. Thank you.

Loved it! It was the first time I have been there, I treated a friend of mine for her birthday, and she'd not been there before either. She loved it too! Especially when they brought out a complimentary dessert with a sparkler on top! Great service, delicious food.

You can’t go wrong eating here. Festive dining are, really GOOD food! Try the carnitas tacos or the rolled chicken tacos.

We really enjoyed our dinner there! Probably some of the best Mexican food we ever ate!! Everything was very fresh and the service was outstanding !

Food was great. Order the Diablo shrimp plate of you like spicy food. Definitely worth it.

Spent the day in Old Town decided to have a late lunch. Patio dining was perfect. Our server was very attentive and accurate. Enjoyed the food and would definitely return on our next visit to San Diego.

We had such an amazing experience at Fred’s. We are visiting San Diego from Glendale, AZ and the staff were so welcoming and appreciative of our visit. The waitresses worked as a ‘tag-team’ and made sure we had everything we needed. The margaritas were awesome and the food was delicious! And, yes, their churros really are better than the ones you get at Disneyland! We shall return!!!

The ambiance of this place was very nice. I went at night and the lighting was dim but not super dim. Perfect for dates. The restaurant is also very colorful which is nice and the staff of super friendly. Since it’s a outdoor patio they allow your fur babies to tag along which is always a plus! Food was also very good. The nachos are delicious and very filling. And don’t skip out on the margaritas!

We came here while on our quarantine family vacation. There are plastic shields up on every table and hand sanitizer as well. All of the servers wear masks and disinfect their hands regularly. Our food was delicious! Some of our entrees included: gringo tacos, crispy chicken tacos, fish tacos, shrimp and beef fajitas, chicken enchiladas, and carne asada fries. Everything was delicious! Our waitress Victoria was a sweetheart!

The portions were great! The chips and salsa were so tasty! We really enjoyed the queso! The house margarita was a huge and delicious! The outdoor seating was perfect! We made a reservation on a Friday night, thank goodness we did because they were busy! Glad to see them doing well!
