The dining room was maybe 55 degrees at best. We complained and they brought 2 portable heaters in to help warm the table. We had our entire meal with our jackets on. The waiter approached and got our drink and appetizer order. We asked him what he recommended for an appetizer. He suggested the Octopus so we said we will take that. He brought our wine and when the appetizer came it was a shrimp and potato dish. We told him we ordered the Octopus, he said the shrimp was good. We then tried to order some more wine and he said he only had enough for one glass. He then brought the entrees. My wife ordered the seafood risotto. Pretty good! I ordered the Guinea pig. I could not even cut it with knife he provided. I requested a steak knife. Very tough!! He explained that the Guinea pig had allot of small bones and should just chew through them. Took one bite and I sent the whole mealback and we asked for our check. They did comp the GP. Worst meal we had on our 16 day vacation to South America!

An excellent restaurant in the heart of Cusco, directly next to the Cusco Cathedral and Plaza de Armas. I had the Ceviche Imperial and the Pato con Arroz (Duck and Rice) dishes. Both were excellently prepared and presented and very tasteful. It was a lot of food for one person, but I enjoyed what I was able to eat thoroughly. My server, Jhonny (sp?), was outstanding. He was friendly, very knowledgeable of the dishes, and attentive. He is a very good server. The mid-afternoon female host was also outstanding. I am sorry I didn't get her name. She was very caring and gave me a warm welcome. She made me feel a valued guest; unlike the evening female hostess who ignored me after I said "Thank you" when I exited the restaurant. If you are in Cusco, Peru, I highly recommend dining at Casa Cusquena for a very nice special dinner. I plan on going back one last time before I leave Cusco.

To begin with this is a gorgeous restaurant located on the main square in downtown Cusco. The ground level entrance is a little difficult to spot, but once you head upstairs the interior of the restaurant is beautiful with a nice mix of both indoor and outdoor dining options. My wife and really enjoyed the view at night from the rooftop dining patio, but it can get a little cool at night. The food was exceptional with a great selection of local cuisines. I recommend the Imperial Ceviche and organic tomatoes as a starter. We really enjoyed the suckling pork for two. The service from our waiter Johnny was exceptional. A truly wonderful experience.
