And we also have a banquet hall that seats 250 guest
and allday on weekends.
Creative menu. So many salsa choices.
Mexican food from the southern states of Mexico, not Sonoran style.
Beet/red chile enchilada sauce was delicious!
Adorable, remodeled, historic red brick house.
Main waitress is very knowledgeable about the menu. She may have been the owner.
Although relatively new, Casa Corazon should quickly become a frequent stop for excellent Mexican food. They provide a varied menu to suit different ideas of what comprises Mexican food. The "salsa trolley" covers all degrees of spicy along with non spicy choices. The restaurant is extremely clean and the staff is very attentive. A caution on possible language difficulties, but just ask about any questions.
This new neighborhood restaurant is a real gem! Spotless, with lots of windows streaming in light when we went for lunch. Our server said they will be adding new things, and currently have live music, but only once a month for now. People in the neighborhood don't know about it yet, so go and check it out! You won't be sorry!
If you are a fan of mole, this was simply the best. We also had the lobster quesadilla, and it, too, was terrific. Compliments to the chefs! We highly recommend this for delicious, authentic food. The ambience is nice, not fancy, but open, clean and interesting in an old house in the historic Coronado neighborhood. A table nearby had young children, and they were treated well and seemed to enjoy their food. The margarita was a little too sweet for my taste, but nicely presented.
Great food, salsa bar , excellent service & very nice staff. You will enjoy it!
I picked Casa Corazon randomly while looking for a new Mexican restaurant, and I'm glad I did! The food was delicious, the drinks were outstanding, the service was great and accommodating, and the space itself was very clean and cool. Everyone I went with loved it and we all left stuffed and very satisfied. I highly recommend.
Excellent food and service
Just reliable, great food and service! Really happy to have this great local restaurant to support!
This is the second time we have eaten here and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The enchiladas in beet sauce are outstanding.
Great authentic Mexican food!
You receive a lot of food for the price. As soon as we say, we received chips and a fantastic bean dip. There’s a salsa bar with a flavor for everyone. We probably tried 5 out of the selection and that wasn’t even half of what they had. Delicious. My husband had the fajitas and I had flautas. They were huge and I was able to choose 2 proteins. The service is fantastic. The only slow down for us was waiting for our bill. There was a large table of 15 that slowed things down but we never needed to wait for iced tea. They brought a caraf of water so I was fine.
The restaurant decor is perfect.
We will return.
The food was outstanding. The Cochinita Pilib and Chiles En Nogada and fish tacos were delicious. One of the two red meat tacos was moist and tasty, the other one dry. Not sure which was which, however. The Qjuesadilla Lobster was good, not great. Service was friendly and efficient. The price points for the menu items offered value. Now for the not so good: the hard surfaces and A-frame structure of the restaurant makes for poor acoustics. Add to that the loud volume of the really great music and you cannot have a normal conversation without talking loudly. Lastly, although we told the greeter twice that ours was an Open Table reservation, it was not recorded, probably because there is no computer near the two entrances (as others have mentioned). Had to call the next day and ask then to process the reservation with OT, which they did. All in all, we will be back because the food was so good.
The food as well as the service were sub par. I would never recommend this restaurant nor will I be returning!
There were large parties there so service was a bit slow thought the effort was made to get the drinks and food to us. Once the food came we knew we made the right choice. It was delicious and freshly made. The sangria seemed endless and was the best I have ever had. Fruity and tasty. Worth a drive there.
Very pretty interior. The service was wonderful, although we were the only ones in the restaurant for most of our meal on Thursday early evening. The salsa bar was spectacular. Fantastic selection of sauces. The chips were fresh and hot. The drinks were sadly a disappointment. I ordered the sangria and I felt like it was frozen berries mixed with red wine. My husband’s margarita was a lot of ice vs mix. All our dinner selections were delicious. I will definitely go back and eat there again. Check it out!
The food is great! The noise level is bad, couldn't carry a normal conversation on our own table, need to do something about the acoustics.
Some confusion when we arrived on our reservation but they made it right and all staff very pleasant and accommodating.
Everyone in party loved the food
It seems the staff was over was caught off guard. Not sure why but it was very busy and maybe everyone arrived all at the same time But I will say they will working very hard to accommodate all guests
Love what they did to the residential house and the owner said he used to own it and live in it 10 years ago
The food was amazing and creative. The décor was cozy, intimate & created a nice ambiance. Borderline upscale feel to this restaurant. Great for a date night. Very small and limited seating, so be sure to make a reservation. One issue was in regard to being short staffed during a very busy Saturday night. It appeared only 2 waiters working along with the owner(s) running back and forth. It was @ least 20 min or so to get our first drinks after being seated. But afterwards, it was a bit more smooth sailing as far as service or as could be expected for how busy and short staffed it was. The only other issue - the cost of the drinks as far as shots. The menu had a decent or average liquor/shot list. However, it was a little pricey for everyday normal brands. Example- a shot of Sauza blue tequila was 8.00. The salsa bar was super cool as they had a variety of different salsas to try out with the homemade tortilla chips. The Steak Mexicano was super delish and worth ordering. And the same for Enchiladas Corazon. Yum!
We had Sunday lunch at Casa Corazon and are looking forward to returning next week. I'm writing this on 8/6/2018 and the restaurant has been open a little over 2 months. Clearly someone has put much thought and love into both the space and the menu. Ice water and chips still too hot to eat were brought promptly to our table along with a wonderful little bean dip. There is a salsa bar so you can choose your own. I really liked the avocado and my husband's favorite was the pineapple salsa. Almost the moment the last chip had been munched our lunch arrived. I had the house specialty enchilada with rice and black beans and my husband had a green beef burrito. Both were wonderful - not Tex Mex wonderful - clearly this cuisine is regional and our waitress told us where, but I've forgotten. This restaurant is a little gem which has yet to be discovered by the crowds. Definitely 5 stars.
Party of 8 - ordered 8 different entrees - all Excellent to Outstanding - Margaritas were also A-Mazing - Love the charm of the building - We will be back -
Great food that is served by amazing staff. Place is new but other then that the environment is so homey. They take amazing care of there clients. Drinks are amazing as well!!
Great food, great atmosphere, really good service.
This was our second visit and it was outstanding. We had their house special enchiladas with red sauce and two mini gorditas. Unfortunately, they were out of their Street Corn that we tried on our first visit that was fantastic. This is a Central Phoenix traditional recipe restaurant that is a must try for foodies!
Loved it!!! Everything we tried was totally delicious. Best nacho chips and sauces. Hot and fresh. Great garlic and pineapple sauce e. Attentive service working their butts off.
Nice hidden gem and wound indeed visit again. I highly recommend.
The food, service and ambiance are fabulous at this new restaurant. It has a fun upscale vibe. I had the chili rellanos which were excellent. The homemade corn tortillas are so light. We will definitely be back soon!
Can’t recommend this place. Service very slow and they weren’t busy. Margaritas good but not for $16. ($12 for the marg, $4 for grand marnier float). Sauce on both of meals was way salty. Just a lousy meal.
We found this restaurant to be a wonderful place to dine and talk quietly. The décor is excellent, as is the food. Great value and great prices. The owner was exceedingly helpful and friendly. I will definitely dine there again when in town.
This is a great little gem in Phoenix! They have great food, amazing cocktails and a great staff. If that weren’t enough, the salsa bar will definitely rock your world.
Tried Casa Corazon during Arizona Restaurant Week...and this place is now one of my top 5 places in Phoenix. The service, atmosphere, and food was amazing. We started with chips and our choice of salsas. My favorite was the Salsa Verde. We steered off the AZ Restaurant Week menu and got queso fundido with chorizo - delicious with the homemade tortillas - main coarse - I got steak enchiladas with the beet and chili sauce. Husband got the steak... then we ended with churros!
Where do I start? How about the entrance? Well I would if it were easily marked. The door leading from the parking lot looks as though it leads into the kitchen; oops we got the wrong door. We went to the front door and tried that one; oops we got the wrong door again. That door appeared to be the entrance to the bar and dirty dishes. Turns out the door we entered the first time was the right one.
Now for the service. The server we had wasn't impressive. This was our first visit and we had no idea there was a salsa bar; would have been nice had our server told us so we didn't sit there waiting for someone to bring us the obligatory Mexican restaurant chips and salsa. My water glass and beverage glass were both empty for quite some time and we had to ask for refills. He took the glass and continued to walk back and forth from the bar to the kitchen all while holding my glass. Several minutes later we finally caught his attention and he acted insulted that we dared ask about my beverage refill. Finally 45 minutes after placing our order our meal finally arrived. I would have thought taking this long it would be hot, but not so much. The presentation was nice, but my entrée felt as though it had been sitting under a heating lamp instead of in front of me on my table. He also forgot the rice and beans; how can you not know what does or doesn't come with the entrée? It's your job for heaven's sake!
Needless to say it was better than having cereal for dinner, but not a whole lot.
The food was delicious!!! Service awesome will be back.
Casa Corazon will always have a special place in my heart! My personal test for a Mexican restaurant is the mole sauce and this is OUTSTANDING. They have a salsa bar for you to choose for the complimentary chips. Our bartender/waitress was super friendly and very attentive. I can't say enough about the food and service here.
The place just opened so the service needed some kinks worked out but the fish and chicken tacos were good. Nice touch with a salsa bar. It’s not fancy but a good value
Love this place! Dropped in for lunch. They are newly open and still working on the place but the foot is wonderful. If your in the Thomas and 16th Street area you should check this place out. You can not miss the building. It is bright orange on the east side of the street.
