   We had a 7:00 reservation. The restaurant was very busy but we we sat immediately. We then waited for service. Our waiter finally came and took our drink and appetizer order. We had no place settings or water. Runner brought our queso but no chips. Asked but never received them. 10 minutes later waiter comes and we ask for and receive chips. My husband had to hunt down silverware and plates. 45 minutes still no drinks. Others around us were receiving food and drinks but not us. Also very hot inside and appeared ac not working. Paid for queso and left without drinks or dinner

   We went there specifically to hear the mariachi. They were supposed to play 7 to 10 pm according to their website. We heard 2 very short songs while they warmed up about 6:50 after we got their. The menu said they play 7:30 to 9. They played around the restaurant during that time and never once did they play in the area we were sitting (near the door-where the hostess put us). We never heard another song. I'm very disappointed we drove an hour away to hear recommended mariachis. We will not be coming back.

   Casa Chapala is out favorite restaurant for small to large groups. We are always greeted like family and hosted with joy and enthusiasm. We were a large boisterous group and Casa Chapala has become a holiday and any day tradition to celebrate friendships over amazing food. Must have the menudo and flan. Many Mexican restaurants claim to have authentic menudo and flan, but Casa Chapala is like homemade. If you really want to treat yourself try the La Pachanga appetizer. Loaded with flavor and just enough heat it is a must have.

    It was super packed but our waiter Fabian was amazing and took great care of our party of five. He was so efficient and we never saw him stop running around taking care of all his tables. He had a great attitude and didn’t seem stressed at all. The drinks and food were delicious. Casa C never disappoints!

    Was the birthday celebration for our friend, we choose this place because we like Kareoke besides we normally there 3 Sundays if the month but to be honest i think this was the last our waiter was absolutely careless of us i was absolutely surprised of this person still wk there number two the expensive price for fajitas of two $40.00 oh and the lack of service because our group was (6) people we end up getting charge almost $20.00 or that was me and i can proof that with my ticket obviously when this guy seems annoyed every time we ask for something and at the end with bad attitude he stated was EXTRA CHARGE FOR CREDIT CARD transactions hellooooo we live in EEUU We all used cards how is this even legal to charge us for this? So when we asking about all this questions the waiter call EMANUEL THE guy in charge i ask for owner info he denied to provide and say to us if u don’t like the prices or the way u need to pay for everything Don’t came back!!! How can someone who is the guy in charge say that to the clientele i think someone need to let this owner the this person is the wrong one on her Business. Our birthday celebration was ruined because of this lack of service and poor customer service experience. People don’t waist ur money in places Where you don’t feel appreciated like CASA CHAPALA Or take extra cash for all the extra expenses they will be charging when they think u won’t be checking the bill. Oh and the waiter name is Maravilla by the way is no Maravilla about him.

    Service was outstanding. Our table on the patio was ready when we arrived. The waiter took good care of us even though it was a very busy Friday night. I always enjoy the food, they offer several dishes that other Mexican restaurants don't. The patio had quite the part atmosphere, although that made conversation a little difficult at times, it was OK since we were celebrating a birthday.

    Casa Chapala has to be one of the best places to go for Mexican food in Austin. I came here my graduation dinner and it was by far one of the most memorable restaurant experiences I've ever had. We were seated quickly, our server was great, AND she even gave us a free Margarita from a mix-up with another order. The owner/manager? came around to our table and took several photos of my family and then put them all on a custom CasaChapala-themed photo collage. He then sold us the others he had taken, 2 for $20. To top it off, the Mariachi band came around and did shots with students (of age) who were graduating! It was a blast. 10/10 would recommend Casa Chapala for any occasion.

    We went here for my moms birthday. The outside is deceiving as this place is HUGE! The service was good, the portion sizes were large. The food was good, not amazing but we will definitely return. My only issue was the patio was amazing, love the set up but the DJ was SO loud. The waiter couldn’t hear to take orders, we couldn’t have conversations without yelling. I loved the music and vibe, but maybe just a few decibels lower.

    Great experience from start to finish! We were given a hearty welcome from the manager upon entry, which was surprising but quite heartwarming. Our server, Fabian, was just the sweetest and most attentive server you could hope for. The food and drinks were great, a major step up from the typical Tex-Mex fare. We will certainly be back.

    We waited about 5 minutes after reserved time, which isn’t bad at all. The food was GREAT and our server was very attentive, which was great stating the fact we had peak time reservations on a Saturday night. I would definitely return to this restaurant

    Very good Tex Mex food and margaritas. Friendly service. We were at the back where it was very quiet so easy for our group to talk. Only negative is that not all dinners were brought at same time, one person had to wait a long time about 10 min and two others had to wait just as long for tortillas to go with the fajitas. They should time this better, but it was a busy Friday night.

    I absolutely love this place. I have never had a bad experience. Food is great. The mangonada was scrumptiously delicious. Service is outstanding. Our server Fabian was absolutely wonderful and efficient. Just what we needed after a long work week. We will be back real soon.

    We really enjoyed celebrating my husband’s 75th birthday at Casa Chapala. Service was fabulous, food was great! They had a festive centerpiece on the table, a fantastic Mariachi band who sang Happy Birthday in Spanish, and delicious Tres Leches cake for the birthday boy.     Overall, I enjoyed the food. I had a fairly large group and they sat us very quickly. Our waiter was a little slow to get us our drinks, take orders, and give the check, but the food made up for it. I also think the price was reasonable.

    Tuve un evento para 10 personas el domingo en la nooche y en general casi todo fue bueno. Respecto a la comida y el servicio del mesero fue rapido y amable, por lo que me parecio excelente. La unica razon por la que no merece una calificacion "Outstanding" es porque el sonido de la musica era EXCESIVAMENTE fuerte, estabamos en la terraza (por razones de seguridad por COVID) en la mesa mas alejada de las bocinas, y aun asi, no podia escuchar a la persona que tenia a un lado, a menos que gritaramos demasiado fuerte. Ademas era Karaoke, lo que significa que la mayoria de la musica era muy incomoda para escuchar(por lo desafinado) lol, por lo menos en la opinion de la mayoria de los que estabamos alli afuera, no solo para mis invitados. Le pedi a la persona de recepcion si era tan amable de bajar solo un poco el volumen y me dijo que no era posible. Tal vez si recomendaria ese lugar pero entre semana, cuando no haya musica.
