Casa B has an interesting menu, and the food absolutely delivers. My fiancé and I shared five small bites and plates, which was plenty, and were impressed with every dish. Don’t miss the meatballs and fried queso from the Small Bites menu. Service was attentive and friendly. We ate outside, where the tables are appropriately spaced and each table has its own space heater. The cocktails were also very good, especially the mojito and red sangria.
Fantastic Latin American oriented Spanish tapas, flavorful drinks, and a nice ambiance
Had a wonderful meal, this place never fails to disappoint! The food & drinks are fantastic and the service & ambiance are also terrific. Looking forward to returning soon.
Good food, terrible service. We waited over 10 minutes just to be given menus and then another 15 for our drinks. Also, the size of the utensils is both amusing and frustrating. The mini spoons/forks/knives may be effective for some of tapas, and while I understand the theme of shared, small plates, the tiny utensils actually made eating difficult and unemployable.
Delicious food, cozy ambiance dining downstairs and very attentive service. Our group got the lamb sliders, patatas fritas, plantain pizza, avocado rolls, yucca stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon, Puerto Rican pot roast, meat balls and fried cauliflower with brava sauce.
Consensus best dish was the Carne Mechada (Puerto Rican pot roast with yucca gnocchi) but everything really was tasty and no one had any complaints.
The food was all well thought out, pleasantly flavored, with subtle and tantalizing profiles, and it was well presented. We had both of the tempranillo wines and they were both great in their own way.
There is a consistency that a place needs to have the pundits return time and time again, but also when the menu is refreshed (not overhauled) the newer items are as good as they could ever have been. There's a reason CasaB is now over 8 years in Union Sq.
Great food and atmosphere. We really enjoyed the meal, top notch service
The food was great, the service was a little lacking but there appeared to only be one server for a fairly packed restaurant and while the food was decently priced it was still over $175 with a tip for dinner for 2 people.
Delicious food/drinks, great ambience, parking nearby, and really great waiters!
Every dish was delicious, not a single plate was bad and we had a lot. Highly recommended
The food, service, and ambience were perfect for a date night. Next time will have to save room for dessert!
Got great seats at the bar downstairs right in front of all the food preparation. Was a great experience and would definitely do again.
Amazing food and service! This place is our favorite!
This is the hidden gem in the Somervile/Cambridge area. It is always welcoming, delicious food and drink, and small, cozy and yet lively at the same. We are regulars, and bring friends from all over the world.
Omg, the food! How delicious! As a vegetarian, it is jot often I get such a super selection but my meat eating relatives got to eat their meat dishes as well! The drinks and desserts were just wonderful. Yes, it was a little expensive, but if you can afford it, well worth it. It ended up costing about $250 for four of us. It we all hd at least one alcoholic beverage and lots of tapas and small plates and 4 desserts with coffee. The service was super and the ambiance lovely. Everything we ate we enjoyed. Only negative? The portions were a little small, but not the end of the world!
Always so good! The food, wine, and service are top notch. I completely recommend this wonderful, local spot!
Nice restaurant. Dishes are very hit or miss. Seared tuna with plantains is by far the best dish, and it’s very very good.
Been to this hidden gem twice! Great service, food, and drinks! My favorite go to spot!
I’ve been to Casa B many times over the years, and even with some changes, it continues to impress. My husband and I went for his birthday. The staff snagged our favorite place to sit, made excellent recommendations, and even brought out a lit birthday candle during dessert. Always relaxing and delicious. Also, plenty of gluten-free options for folks like me (yucca gnocchi?!). Thank you, Casa B!
Excelente comidas y bebidas! The service is spectacular as usual.
Very special hidden gem! We dined downstairs and loved the intimate and eclectic vibe. Food was delicious and authentic. A tad pricier than expected but happy to support a local establishment. Excellent date night spot (I’d recommend dining downstairs!).
Food good as always! The seating downstairs is the best spot and a lovely atmosphere for a date night !
This place has been my local favorite for years. Great for a special occasion or when you want a nicer dinner out. Food is very thoughtfully put together, consistently delicious, and I'd argue one of if not the best gluten-free places to dine in the city (more than half the menu is naturally gluten free). High-caliber cocktails that you can't find anywhere else. Their pisco sour and guava daiquiris are a huge draw for me. I do wish the prices were a few dollars cheaper, but they are using high-quality and expensive ingredients in some of the dishes. If you pick wisely you can several tasty tapas dishes for $5 each. Food service can be slow but wait staff is very attentive.
Tasty food, great cocktails and classy service that’s not stuck up. Laid back and intimate ambiance. Be sure to order a mix of fried and non-fried items or it will get a bit heavy after a few plates. Not too expensive either. Great place for an intimate evening, since they won’t hurry you out.
great latin/puerto rican inspired food and ambience. They had some new items that were tasty but we miss some of the classics, regardless really tasty and fast service
As a vegetarian, there were plenty of tasty options. Plantain pizza was very good
Food and service was awesome! We had a wonderful birthday celebration.
Really great overall. A little pricey for a tapas place, and they do their own twist on Spanish tapas, rather than traditional like in Spain. So that may be a disappointment for anyone looking for “authentic.” But the ambiance, service, and certain dishes make up for the pricey-ness and dishes that aren’t always true to form.
This definitely our neighborhood bar and restaurant. Tapas are rich and diverse, and the barman certainly knows his rum selection.
Sat at the kitchen-facing table even though requested not to sit at bar. The table downstairs facing the kitchen is considered a regular table
Amazing food, perfect serving sizes, and friendly staff! I will be coming here again!
I love this place. Everything on the menu is delicious. The staff is always great and the cocktails are outstanding. A++
The ambiance, service, and drinks were great. The food was flavorful but nothing particularly special. The pot roast was good but I could have made it at home and the bacon wrapped shrimp consisted of too much fatty bacon. I would go back for the drinks and ambiance.
Made reservations for 4 for a friends birthday. Been here before and add nothing but GREAT to say. Was not informed about a party downstairs so only seating was upstairs. Had I been informed I would have planned to go another time. Upstairs is tight and crowded with very little seating. Wait staff were just OK.
As it turned out, we were the only diners in the restaurant, which could have been awkward but wasn't at all because of our excellent server. The lack of diners could have been the result of the nor'easter forecast for that evening... Casa B is a cosy, comfortable place that serves tapas with a Spanish/Caribbean influence. We enjoyed Bollo con Jamon, an appetizer-sized tapas with corn toast, guava and serrano ham, as well as two larger dishes of kabobs (chicken and pork). The spices and sauces were subtle and not overwhelming and the combinations of flavors were quite tasty. We also loved the crema de chocolat, a raspberry mousse-chocolate concoction that we had for dessert. Excellent cocktails, too. Our only complaint was the lack of more vegetarian options. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience: thank you to our server and to the cook.
My absolute favorite restaurant. Everyone I take here loves it.
The food was good as was the choice of both wine and cocktails. The service was so so. The waiter didn’t offer any explanation of the menu or suggestions for our group. At other tapas restaurants it is very common to share a bunch of stuff. The tapas were not suitable for sharing which threw us as bit. In the end we had a fine time and the food was tasty. A bit more personality and engagement from the waiter would have been welcome.
Casa B always delivers! Great food and service, a treat every time.
