Located just steps from the beach, Casa Ado is situated on Washington Boulevard in Marina Del Ray. The restaurant is a nice upscale respite from an otherwise very laid back environment. The authentic Italian cuisine at Casa Ado includes classics like prosciutto burrata e pomodoro, cappuccio e burrata and insalata di polipo alla griglia, amongst many others. There is also a full wine list to choose from too.
For a romantic setting in Marina del Rey, Casa Ado is perfect. You can enjoy an amazing meal while watching the sun set over the ocean and then finish it off with panna cotta or chocolate soufflé.
Great food. All made there. Fun place. Service very warm.
Excellent food and service, but noise-- mostly music -- level makes it very difficult for a party of 4 to converse. Best to go only when there are 2 of you.
An excellent meal. Great food and great service. Would go again.
Fantastic food. In particular the pastas were very well done.
Love this place!! Great food and fun atmosphere!
Great food in a comfortable setting. Loved sitting outside! The service was also great, very attentive service with people who really seemed to care about your experience and the food!
Rissoto with seafood was amazing!
One of my favorite neighborhood places to go... even if I didn’t live close by it’s worth the travel in traffic. Great food, wonderful, friendly waiters that are attentive and always next level up fun at the table.
This place is a scam from the word go. Website lists entree prices $5-7 below actual prices. Waiter
asked my date still or sparkling, before we sat down. Not thinking, she blurted, "Uh, still." That misstep
cost us an additional $10. The waiter proceeded to list the specials, which naturally were told to us without the prices. My date tried to order the salmon entree off the menu, but was persuaded with a hard sell to choose the sole special instead. That mistake cost us $46 instead of $26 for the salmon. This place really takes advantage of their diners in every way possible. Caveat emptor.
We love Casa Ado - but they continue to raise prices on their menu, and it's starting to be come a bit out of our price range. Manuele and team provide great food and service, and I imagine their rent a block from the beach can't be cheap - but with the average entree approaching $30, it's going to really limit the amount of times we can go there. The portions are much smaller than C&O across the street and more expensive, but in many ways better - however not always. As "regulars" who live two blocks down the street, it's always funny to hear that the "daily special" is the filet mignon carpaccio with black truffle... which is ALWAYS the daily special - but it's the best thing in the world - literally. Get it. You won't regret it. Sometimes we actually order two portions at $27... er... now $30 each! Not quite sure it's worth that, but it's great. Food 5 stars, Service 5 stars, Value... falling... I'll be back, just not as often as I have before.
Unerring delicious and authentic. I do think some of the dishes are a bit overpriced, notably the pasta, even for the (high) quality. Granted, it was Valentine's Day, but I would have preferred prices under $20 for Linguini Bolognese and Gnocchi. That said, this is really a neighborhood gem, no too overrun by tourists, and the live piano music is always a plus.
Unexpected good food, will definitely consider coming here again.
Love this little place!! Food and serve is great, not to mention the amazing location... ❤️
Food was delicious as always, but prices for specials are very high. Pasta shouldn’t cost over $30/plate!
Always has great food and great service! I love going to this restaurant and hasn't disappointed anyone I have brought with me!
Great restaurant. Came here with my parents and had a great time. The staff took care of us and everyone absolutely loved their food. The seafoods risotto was incredible. Shared a tiramisu which was fantastic. Would definitely come here again.
Food was delicious waiter was great!!
Music was fun !
Casa Ado is our family favorite for special occasions.
Always a terrific meal, incredibly authentic Italian. Our go to restaurant for great food and great service. Get the sole that they prepare at your table, and the truffled pasta as an appetizer.
Complaint: booked a table for a birthday. This was never acknowledged by personnel even though I mentioned it twice
Service was sketchy, water glasses were empty and we were never asked if we wanted a refill.
Very noisy, over served diners at next table...
What we liked: the food was excellent!
The food here is very good, and since I'm local, I'd come all the time if the prices were anywhere near reasonable. At first glance, the menu prices don't seem too bad, but it always ends up being $100 per person, and we aren't over-indulging. The specials will get you, and wine is way over-priced.
Casa Ado is located just off the pier in Marina Del Ray—that explains its casual character and naturalistic charms. A man plays piano without fanfare; the servers work their tails off with efficient service; and the food arrives as advertised and delicious. We loved how everything tasted, and - if initially underwhelmed by the atmosphere - came to appreciate the come-as-you-are vibe of the ocean, without the swanky fuss of high-end coastal neighbors. Don’t get me wrong, Casa Ado is NOT cheap! It’s priced like the big leagues...but it presents itself straight up, dressed down, and with value. :)
Lobster was a rip off. Way too expensive. Sorry but having to take my family of three for dinner for $300 is not for me.
We booked a reservation for dinner through Open Table; and upon arrival found that the restaurant was closed. Very disappointing; and a waste of an Uber.
Excellent casual restaurant, with pretty good food. Very good ambience, smart service. Wine list adequate but not exceptional. We would certainly revisit next time we are in the area.
The food was delicious but it was hard to understand the waitress when she explained the specials. Also she never gave prices of specials and got the bill and the steak special was $70! Not worth the price at all! Crazy. It should have been stated up front.
I am a restaurant consultant and this is one of the most authentic Italian restaurants in LA.
The food is excellent, the wait staff is excellent and be sure to ask for the specials for the
day. You wont find better Italian food in LA and you can speak Italian to the owner, if you like to.
Great seafood and wine selection, try the grilled Calamari for a Italian taste treat!
Excellent homemade pastas. Authentic Italian food, great atmosphere and service. Full bar and great wine list. Live piano music.
Our favorite always
My food was quite good, I had the special Dover sole, which was cooked perfectly. The service was attentive without being interruptive and we were not rushed.
The live music was a lovely bonus that we had not expected, but made the evening even more fun.
The service was awful, left a small tip on purpose, they changed my credit card quite a bit extra. I am contestintg the change, but will never go back.
Love the good and staff! Always a pleasure!
Way too noisy. They need to fix their acoustics in the back.
Our favorite italian restaurant in venice, california.
Always a fantastic meal. But the noise factor is a problem
Maybe some area rugs, idk
Still love it but very hard to hear table mates
Wasnt a big fan and that is too bad as I live in the neighborhood and was looking for a more upscale option.
We waited about 20 minutes for a table even though we had a reservation and were seated by the ladies bathroom door.
The service was slow it took the water some time to take our order .
We ordered the Special Fish of the day it was sole that they deboned at the table and the seafood risotto along with one of their salads.
The salad was good but things went downhill from there the sole was very dry I make better sole and I am no chef. For a $45 dish which is more than anything else on the menu it was very disappointing.
The risotto did nothing for either of us I am more impressed with the frozen risotto from Trader Joes.
All in all $150 plus for a poor dining experience when there is great food a few blocks away means no repeat business from me.
I was seated at a table that seemed like an afterthought. I had to beg for refills on my drink and had to ask for bread which was placed on everyone else’s table. Abysmal experience that even better than average food couldn’t overcome. Don’t recommend this place to anyone!!
I cannot recommend Casa Aldo. Buyer BEWARE!
I have been to Casa Ado on 3 occasions. The reason for the single star out of five is because during my last visit (Saturday April 28 - my birthday), is because of the surprising bill.
Most items in the main course section list for prices in the $20s and $30s. The most expensive dish being the "Fileto di Manzo" or filet mignon for $36. When ordering, we were told the list of specials, including a Tomahak steak for two people. Highly recommended by the staff.
The dinner went on fine and the food was satisfactory, with the taglietelle bolognese being very good. However, when the bill arrived, we were STUNNED to learned that the recommended Tomahak steak was $150!!!
\How could that be? There is no menu item above the $30 mark. If this was for two people, ok, it may cost $80. NOWHERE was this price published and we were not informed of the cost when presented with this "off-menu item".
I feel that we have been head. Casa Aldo is a Restaurant in my neighborhood and one that I want to come to more often as the food is good. But I HATE being TAKEN ADVANTAGE of.
I still had to leave a $30+ tip, but this is bordering fraud in my book
