Truly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Strongly recommend!
It was delicious!!!
This is the best Italian food in DC! A must visit for any occasion!
Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the Chicken parm and calamari. Great service and drinks as well!
The meal and the service was great.
A new go-to for comfort food & great drinks. It’s loud and cozy & the service was great even though they were very busy!
Great atmosphere and the food was great. So many classics done well. Great service.
Spicy Neapolitan Ragu, Pesti Ravioli, and Caprese are utterly sublime.
Fantastic experience from start to finish food was excellent service speedy and attentive and great value
Met our close friends for a few drinks at the bar and then a leisurely dinner. Everything was perfect. Don’t miss their antipasto dirty martini and enjoy the bartender’s sparkling conversation! The tiramisu was delightfully light and not overly sweet. 1000 stars from a neighbor who is planning to make this our standard night out!
loved everything about this place. As New York Italians (from Staten Island!) this encapsulates all the northern Italian fare we were used to having at family dinners growing up, or on trips to little Italy. While our family is sicilian, and culturally we eat quite differently, this was just a solid spot. The drinks were amazing (between us we had the old fashioned, limincellotini, antipasto martini, and espresso martini - wow to all of them), and we also tried most of the pastas, the chicken parmigiana, the calamari and mozzarella en carrozza (!!!). It’s quintessential. It’s almost cliche. But the point is that it’s GOOD and the vibe is perfect. Service was also amazing. I’m so excited this is a spot in my neighborhood and can be a good stand in for my Sunday dinners if I ever feel like not cooking ;)
The food was delicious. I didn't realize how badly DC was missing a traditional "red sauce" place until Caruso's opened. Well worth the trip -- every detail was well done and the service was great.
We went to Caruso’s to celebrate our anniversary. A great atmosphere, with wonderful food and service. They treated us at the end of our meal with a complementary orangechello and a card for our anniversary. The little touches did not go unnoticed!
Great new place!
Impressive, small space and excellent, attentive service from the staff. Food was very good and well-presented, and cocktails are phenomenal (especially considering they're 25% cheaper than most places!)
Absolutely wonderful! The food was terrific, and the atmosphere/vibe was great. Very good service, too. Definitely get the ragu! Recommend 12/10.
Excellent. Perfect new addition to the Hill. Entrees a bit on the pricey end but love the food. Great kids menu.
Caruso's dining room is lively and cozy. Some Wednesday evening Italian classics were a nice treat to break up the week.
Hands down the best Italian food in DC. Wonderful and attentive service too. The cocktail and wine list is top notch. We are big fans of Caruso’s Grocery!
Great service, delicious food, phenomenal vibes. Will be returning.
Every dish was special - nothing mediocre - give them a shot you won’t regret it
Amazing place and excellent food! Excited to get back soon
Service and food - impeccable.
Great service by the bar staff. We sat at a high table off the bar area. The service was impeccable and the food and drinks were great. I would highly recommend!
Foid was great with strong flavors to enjoy. Service was awesome. Scott was incredibly and the wine recommendation on point. We were celebrating our anniversary and a surprise note from him was very warm. A place we will continue going.
The ambience is nice and the food is adequate but not worth the price. Cocktails were lovely and service was lovely too.
Lived up to its billing as serving great, old-style Italian dishes!
Tasty dishes and generous portions. Very good waitstaff. Only complaint was the level of noise - I felt like I was shouting across the table. I’ll go back though. It’s nice to have Italian in the neighborhood.
Our waiter was great, food (dinks, apps, salad, dinner) all delicious!
Started with the mozzarella, which is a delicious take on a breaded grilled cheese in marinara, and the Caesar salad that was the idea mix of ingredients, creaminess, and freshness. Good portions to share but not overwhelming. I got the chicken parm entree which is HUGE and comes with a side of delicious spaghetti marinara. The chicken was so tender and cheesy I wish I could’ve finished it all but wanted to save room for dessert — a homemade ice cream sundae. Service was prompt, attentive, and knowledgeable. Food was all delicious I can’t wait to try more items. Ambiance was great and as a first indoor dining experience in a long time, felt good spacing and adherence to masks by all staff.
A perfect meal! Amazing food, big portions, and reasonable prices.
A week later and we are still talking about this new amazing Italian restaurant! We thought we were back in NYC eating the classic dishes. The appetizers were delicious- the creamy burrata was nicely paired with garlic toasts and the mozzarella in carrozza was surprisingly different but just as delicious served as layers. The tomato and basil caprese was delightful too. They took a simple dish to a new level of yummy!
The entrees didn’t disappoint- all 4 in the party loved their meal. My veal francaise was a generous portion served with a healthy selection of fresh vegetables that were prepared perfectly. Again- a classic prepared perfectly. The desserts didn’t disappoint! How could an ice cream sundae be soo good? It is and its a must! Unless of course you can’t turn down a delicious tiramisu. We can’t wait to go back on our next visit to DC. Oh… almost forgot the housemade Sambuca and fantastic cocktails at only $10! Our waiter was attentive and engaging.
Everything was excellent… service, food and drinks
Delicious Italian comfort food, impeccable cocktails & phenomenal service — can’t recommend enough!
The special cocktails are delicious and the food is good. The service is excellent and Caruso's staff is very accommodating. We got a personal note with our check, thanking us for spending our wedding anniversary at their restaurant.
Great service. Attentive, professional and friendly staff. Don’t sleep on the chicken parm. Such a great new DC restaurant that has a classic Italian gravy.
The Negroni and fried calamari were perfection. All the entrees were excellent. The salad and tiramisu portions were large and were shared amongst the three of us. Everything was delicious!
Thanks for the compliments, Val! Hope you again soon!
So incredibly loud I couldn’t hear what the rest of the table was saying. It was too difficult to even yell over the volume of the music. The food was great, but it was hard to enjoy with the music volume that loud.
The food was amazing! Definitely a great place to go on a special occasion. The drinks were great too!
We love celebrating special occasions with you! But, in our book, any day can be made into a special occasion if you really want! Hope to see you soon!
