Food and service were great. The waiter recommended the trout. I was really surprised at how well cooked and seasoned it was. The waiter's recommendations were spot on based on what we told him we liked. The coctails and beer were also surprisingly good. The service was top notch. Dishes came and went as if someone was watching us. Desserts were delicious and what was really surprising was the de- caff coffee I ordered! Smelled and tasted among the best I've ever had. We went for our 35th anniversary. Actually great place for any special event. Super convenient adjacent to public parking.

Started off with the calamari (excellent!) and for main courses we had a house salad and spicy neapolitan ragu (delicious!). The atmosphere was great; we were there on a busy Saturday night. We had a couple drinks at Owen's before getting seated. Highly recommend Caruso's.

We always enjoy our meals at Caruso’s. Caesar salad, meatballs, linguine and clam sauce all delicious. We suggest they present warm bread rather than room temp. We definitely notice the portion sizes were smaller. Sufficient for us yet smaller!

Our second visit. The food is good and the service is excellent. The noise level was bad the first visit and awful the second visit due to 3 gentlemen. Staff said there was nothing they could do. We will not be back

Three-course meal for restaurant week. Appetizers to include them garlic bread with four cheese sauce and Caesar salad pretty much tasteless. The pasta was really good. Dessert was also mediocre. If we return we will only eat the pasta.

A few times we got the food an no silverware or plates. We had to ask. The service people were not very friendly. I even saw a mussel shell on the floor with other food. Mediocre service. The food itself was good, not outstanding but enjoyable.

Our waiter, Daniel, was outstanding! He switched out unappealing tables several times throughout the service and was super attentive and friendly throughout the service. What was out of his control was the quality of the rosemary potatoes that came with my truffle mushroom omelette; the potatoes were barely recognizable! They were burnt to a crisp and tasted like they were sitting in an old fryer overnight. I will be back, due to the service and location, but will request my potatoes be “…just cooked through; not overdone, please.” next time.

This is a slightly pricey Italian Restaurant, with a limited menu, however, all the food is prepared excellently, and the service is almost always exceptional. It you like Italian food, and are near Pick and Rose, you can't go wrong.

The food was extremely salty; Aal the entrées and the appetizer. We mentioned some thing to the waiter as well regarding one of the entrées, not being liked at all, overly greasy and salty. iPad at table in dining room was extremely high volume and loud. Term grocery is very misleading. We thought this was a grocery store with a cute cafe.

Delicious authentic and fresh Italian food set in a wonderful ambiance with courteous, polite staff. One of the best Chicken Parms I've ever had! The pasta Alfredo was unique and one of the most delicious dishes I've had the pleasure of having anywhere in DC. A+

Celebrated my mother’s birthday. Every aspect of the experience was perfect. Great timing on the courses. Baked Cavatelli, Chicken Parm and Shrimp Scampi were all excellent. Highly recommend and looking forward to going back.

The overall dining experience was just ok. The food is very good but service was pretty bad. Took a very long time from time we ordered til the time drinks came out which was after half the appetizers and first course was served. And half the dishes came out at random times so half the table had their meals and the other half waited 10 more minutes… very inconsistent service for a Sunday at 6 pm. Perhaps the kitchen was slammed and there was not enough staff ? I’ll def go back bc my trout piccata was excellent … but will go later when it isn’t as crowded.

After we ordered they brought bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar plus a small bowl for dipping the bread. The bread and balsamic were nice, but the olive oil was inferior--definitely not EVOO. We ordered two glasses of wine and one of the tricolore salads, said that we were going to split it, and asked for the dressing on the side. They split the salad in the kitchen (always welcome) but did not put the dressing on the side. It was considerably over-dressed. We've experienced this at other restaurants so we always ask for the dressing on the side. Half-way through eating our salads, we were still waiting for our wine. With no servers in sight after a while I finally had to get up from the table and find our server to get him to get our wine--most irritating. Fortunately, the entree we came for arrived and it was fabulous--the chicken parmigiana and side order of spaghetti! Both were very generous portions. Our last disappointment was the cannoli--the filling just did not taste right for some reason.

Thank you so much for this feedback. In regards to the olive oil, we actually infuse our olive oil in garlic and rosemary, so it is a little different than just EVOO. We do have EVOO if you'd like some next time you're in! We do apologize about the wine taking some time to come to the table and the salad dressing that should've been on the side. We love the Caruso Grocery on the Hill but the P&R location is actually part of a sports bar. Blaring [blaring] rock music and zero ambiance. We also found the tomato sauce to be really bad and tasted like it came out of a can (not even a jar) and the meatballs had a funny spice. The vodka sauce was good. The servers were v nice and efficient but several had a lot of perfume (which is off putting to me personally but obv might not bother others). Very disappointed and perplexed.

Restaurant week food was delicious, fresh & plentiful. I’m not a fan of Pike & Rose (too suburban for my taste) but if you’re there, Caruso’s is definitely the place to eat.

Tried Caruso during restaurant week to get a break on higher prices. Impressed by their attentive servers and had a front seat to their "open kitchen" so we had a show to enjoy too. The chicken Parm was a big piece and we got to take half home. Penne has a velvety vodka sauce. Nice desserts so leave room

Second time at this location and it was just great again. Jamal was very attentive and the food was excellent. The Burrata appetizer was creamy and the pine nuts added a nice crunch. The Neapolitan Ragu was perfect as always. The spice level is just right for us but for those who want to sweat you may want to have it boosted. The baked cavatelli was very solid with plenty of meatball and sausage chunks for the meat lovers out there. The Nutella cannolis were also tasty and a solid close out for a stellar dinner.

The food here is really good! You can order anything and everything off the menu and it is all excellent. The wine list could use a few more affordable options but overall this is a place to go and treat yourself! The alfredo is excellent but share it and get a spicy or red sauce dish to cut the rich sauces. Everything is delicious!

There for Restaurant Week. My friends and I got the $40 dinner. An amazing amount of delicious food...nothing skimpy about the Restaurant Week menu. Friendly, efficient, attentive service. Very enjoyable experience. Only negative....very loud, though I'm not sure what could be done to help with that issue.

I had the chicken alfredo which was good but on the heavier side-- would probably try something else next time. The caesar salad is phenominal. Didn't love the cannoli but my friend's butterfinger sundae was delicious. Service was so/so. Will definitely come back and give them another try!

This was our second time at Caruso’s Grocery Pike & Rose and the food is amazing,and the staffs are great! My favorite entree is the Caruso’s Alfredo with shrimp and I also love their calamari it’s very good.

Lovely little spot inside Owens ordinary. Excellent pasta. We had the spicy Ragu pasta and the Caruso special. Both were excellent! We also had the Burrata and foccacia garlic bread which were excellent. Cocktails were in point as well. We finished up with the excellent Creme Brulee to end an amazing evening. A+, highly recommend.
