Restaurant Perfection. Every aspect of dinner at Carters is an absolute pleasure.

Fantastic experience over at Carters. attention to detail was next level, as was the food. The enthusiasm for fresh local produce is infectious and it was a pleasure to eat here.

Delicious British food, really interesting courses and beautiful natural wines. Great service too - we loved it!

We had an excellent meal as always. Particular highlights were the razor clam with Old Winchester, the Holstein with grass was delicious and intriguing and the turbot roe 'butter' with the bread was completely new to us and very tasty at the same time. The natural wines that we tried beautifully matched the food and the service is always faultless. Looking forward to trying your new format menu in due course...

What an absolute gem we have found!

Holly is an amazing host, coupled with the FOH team and an incredible Sommelier, it was just so good.

Then there’s Chef Brad and his brigade, it was faultless, fantastic produce, handled so well and beautifully presented.

We shall return many times I just know it.

We were a table of 6 on 22-02-20 & 4 of us veggie. Our bill came to £80pp for outstanding food, wine, coffee & service. We were treating ourselves for ‘Xmas’ & we all agreed it was excellent value for money & enjoyed sharing the experience together.

There is nothing I can fault about our afternoon-thank you.

Had a great lunch. Food was excellent, staff were very friendly and welcoming. Atmosphere was very relaxed and fun and not stuffy or pretentious.

I've always loved Carter's, from when it first opened, particularly the ethos of local and sustainable. My visit this time exceeded my expectations further, not only with the menu and overall warmth of the staff, but because they'd gone above and beyond to research pregnancy dietary advice in advance of my arrival and sat and discussed the entire food and drink menu and possible substitutions for me. The best restaurant in Birmingham by miles!

Have not ben to Carters for sometime but decided to go on February 14th to celebrate Valentines night combined with my birthday. It was just a wonderful as I remembered. Food was very good and Holly is a great hostess.

Will not leave it so long next tme.

Food incredible, service incredible - honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had!

We had the 6 course lunch menu. Every dish was a taste adventure that used flavour combinations I haven't experienced anywhere else. Beautifully presented food that tasted amazing. The service is attentive and friendly. The wine recommendations were excellent and really complimented the food.

An absolutely wonderful meal - from the first "Snacks" (a sublime liver pate and other delights) through beautiful salmon with miso topping, leaks with a special cream sauce, a cheese with mushroom and many other dishes, finishing with some beautiful deserts - this was a not to be missed treat!
We are "foodies" and must rank this restaurant among the best.

Wonderful banquet dinner celebrating the Chinese New Year. Food amazing, service outstanding. This is our favourite special place to eat. Always a lovely atmosphere, staff make you feel very relaxed.

We always enjoy our visits to Carter's. The staff are incredibly friendly, the ingredients are superb, and the dishes brilliantly and inventively put together.

Today's was a special collaboration with Lap-Fai Lee for Chinese New Year, and it really was a great way to celebrate it.

Fantastic food and the drinks pairings were brilliant - the knowledge of the staff on both the tasting menu and drinks pairing, the provenance and processes involved in each, and the explanations provided were exceptional. It was also an enjoyable touch to give us the option to either view the menu for the tasting menu in advance or to have each course as a surprise. The attention to detail in both the courses served and to the table was also lovely - and all of the staff made us feel like extremely valued customers, particularly as we were celebrating multiple birthdays which had been mentioned when booking and confirming the table, and had been remembered. The ambience in the restaurant itself makes it a very enjoyable experience and time flew by - with our evening lasting far longer than we anticipated, but without feeling like we were there for 'too long', we were having such a lovely time we didn't notice the passing of time. It was also a lovely gesture for Brad himself to come out of the kitchen at the end of the service allowing the guests to thank him personally for such a lovely evening. Thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated our evening and hope to return again in the future.

Disappointing. Having been to several Michelin star restaurants we were really looking forward to Carters. Sadly it was not what we had hoped for. One of our party was a pescatarian (notified weeks in advance) and his substitute courses were poor replacements. However staff were extremely courteous and knowledgeable although we did get ‘told off’ for not eating our fat which was somewhat of a surprise. Shame!

Amazing experience. Staff were lovely. Food was gorgeous apart from 2 items I personally struggled with. The Highland pheasant and the trout weren't to my liking. An experience I'd definitely recommend.
