Carriage House Inn
Best French onion soup ever, delicious stuffed shrimp and asparagus. Great dessert choices - strawberry shortcake was awesome.
The food was fabulous!
6 scallops on the order, too much salt in the potatoes, else fine. Would like a senior menu with healthy senior items.
One of our favorite restaurants. Have come to Carriage House for 20+ years and have never gotten anything but incredible meals
This was my first visit to the Carriage House. The food was delicious, the service spot on and the staff very personable. Well worth the slightly pricey cost.
The Carriage House has exceeded our expectations and has become the go-to place for a quiet lunch or a formal dinner. Well worth it.
The food and the service are all top notch. Your establishment is a great calming influence after a hectic day.
Another delicious meal. My husband can't resist the jumbo all lump Crab cakes, despite being a steak guy. I opted for scallops tonight, once again done to pan-seared perfection. Highly recommend the creamed spinach as a side. Simply the best - not overcooked, in a light lemony cream sauce. Indulged ourselves with the seafood flatbread appetizer- could be a meal in itself. Enjoyed the weekend piano playing. Photo of my dinner after I had already downed some scallops.😁
We haven’t eaten here before! We love the ambiance and the cordial staff. We always get the baked Brie, because it is the best we have ever had. I usually get the scallops because they are divine, but this time I tried something different, the Korean BBQ meatloaf. Wonderful smoky flavor and the accompaniments of broccolini and garlic mashed potatoes made this a wonderful entree. Whenever we are in the area, we sto by for lunch or dinner!
Good experience all around. Great food, friendly waitstaff.
My husband and I adore this place. Best Crab cakes for a hundred miles. We live in Washington D.C. area but prefer to make drive here at least twice a month. Everything on menu is delicious, beautifully prepared and presented with no shortcuts. Live piano music on Friday and Saturday nights is a treat! Breakfasts are superb too!
Our favorite restaurant! Between living in the very cosmopolitan D.C. area and extensive travel, we have enjoyed many great places but feel privileged to dine here weekly. Everything is great, Crab cakes are best for miles around, and Chef T always has something new to offer as a special!
The food is always well prepared and very tasty. No matter what you may order from the menu, it will always be really great. The portions are probably designed for a football player, but bringing leftovers home for the next day is always an additional treat.
Very friendly staff. Clean. Great food.
Have returned several times. Good food and good value
We were not served bread.
The service was slow. I had to ask twice for a drink I order.
Good food, nice atmosphere...especially with the live piano music. Really added to the ambiance!
We went during Frederick County restaurant week, so enjoyed a three course meal for$30 ( plus tax and tip). Most outstanding were our Newberg spring rolls, and Johns fish and chips, but everything was good, and we brought back a meal of leftovers!
What’s not to like! Everyone is super nice - attentive - and seem to enjoy what they do here! What they do is serve excellent food in a relaxing semi formal atmosphere! Can’t wait for our next visit!
Food snd Service all always excellent at the Carriage House! Piano music in the background was a plus, as we were celebrating our 49th anniversary!
The service has never disappointed, very nice and efficient as always. Food is also consistently very good, fresh and well prepared.
We tried this restaurant as a catering option for a wedding. The food was delightful. The chicken, steak, crab cake, brie, crab dip, coconut shrimp were all amazing. The dinner rolls were also delicious.
Every thing was perfect. Can hardly wait to go back.
Overall we enjoyed ourselves and will go back, but there is defiantly room for improvement. First, we booked an early time because we wanted to sit near the fireplace, and I noted that on our reservation request. Although there were several tables open near the fireplace, not only were we not seated in one, but we weren't even seated in the large dining room with the fireplace, we were seated in another section of the building! So my view was that of a steel fire-door that was beat-up and badly in need of a paint job. That's all I saw the whole time there was that horrible steel fire-door separating the portions of the building.
They were busy and short on wait staff, so service was slow with significant lapses in seeing our server, but she was very friendly and moving as fast as she could, we didn't fault her.
The menu is awesome, with a wonderful selection of standards and unique items. It was one of those that it was hard to make a choice cause there were so many good ones.
We got the Cream of Crab soup, which comes in a cup, bowl, or boule (bread bowl). It was over the top, some of the best we've ever had! I had the stuffed shrimp with sautéed wild mushrooms and creamed spinach. My wife had filet with baby potatoes and the creamed spinach. The shrimp were advertised a Jumbo, they weren't, they were only medium sized, that was irritating, but they had a nice portion of crab on them and they were very tasty. The delicious mushrooms were actually a variety of wild mushrooms. The creamed spinach was actually fresh made. It had great flavor, but the spinach need to be wilted more before adding the cream. My wife's filet suffered the fate of most steaks, overdone. 80% of steaks we get out are overdone. She wanted med-rare & got medium. But it was tender and the sauce served with it was excellent. The potatoes were the worse part of the meal. Baked new potatoes, skins on, thrown on the plate, no butter, nothing.
I've been critical, but it was good & will return.
WentFor Valentine’s Day! Everything was great excellent service great food great atmosphere the only negative is they need more parking! We regularly visit the carriage house and we will certainly be back I do miss the Sunday brunch!
Don’t miss the gem as you won’t be disappointed....
Service was outstanding. Wait staff was great. Your online reservation system was easy to use.
The Piano music was just right. It was our 51st Anniversary
Thanks for the memories
The food and service were amazing. What put it over the top was the beautiful piano playing! We had two kids with us and they especially loved when she started playing Disney songs! It was a great dinner!
The food was well prepared with serving size equal to price. Service was attentive and complete. Chef is awesome who visited tables personally! Can’t wait for my experience
Lovely, personable staff. Best crab cake I’ve had in eons. Our server MJ gave us plenty of time to chit chat, and was nonetheless attentive to our needs. Honestly, I felt it was a bit over priced.$32 for two crab cakes was too much, no natter how good they were! The good thing was there were many many options on the menu besides seafood entrees. You could have a good neal there on a budget, for sure. They had a good wine selection, too. I’ll go back for sure.
Very nice, food was very good but portions small for the cost.
Loved the menu-food was excellent. Very attentive chef. Definitely recommend and look forward to going back.
Filet Mignon was cooked to perfection. The seafood chowder was loaded with seafood with excellent flavor. Crab cake had no fillers. Staff was very attentive, great suggestions and very friendly. Covid guidelines were followed for those that are concerned. Meals are excellent and consistent quality anytime we have had a meal there.
We were early but seated right away. Drinks came out quickly, food was timely and delicious. The wait staff checked on us regularly and were very friendly. The manager stopped by our table to check on us and we had a nice chat with her. A very friendly staff, wonderful service and great food. We enjoy our visits to Carriage House!
High quality food - very expertly prepared. Stuffed shrimp is delectable - not overly dressed or creamy - just well seasoned quality seafood beautifully prepared. Jumbo asparagus also outstandng.
Great little place. Very good value.
The food at Carriage House did not disappoint, and was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately our server seemed to be pulled in too many directions, so service was remarkably slow and we had to ask multiple times for a few things.
This beautiful little gem of a diving experience has become such a favorite, we even ordered party trays for the holidays!
Always a pleasure dining at the Carriage House. Thanks for great food and service.
I had the pork lion but thought it seemed a bit tough and not as much flavor as i would have liked. Rest of our party said their food was very good. Service was also very good. I'd go back again no question, just not order the pork lion.
