Food was wonderful and our server was fantastic. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. Will return.
We were celebrating friends of ours wedding. This was a favorite dining spot for them. I did forget to tell the restaurant when I made reservation about recent nuptials. however I mentioned while there and they said they do not do anything special. Other than that we had a very nice and enjoyable dinner. We have been to this place a few times before and always good.
By far the best restaurant in Charlotte. The food is prepared perfectly every time. Your taste buds rejoice with every bite.
Everything was as expected from A fine dining establishment. Menu and daily specials were unique and excellent. Love the special touch of adding birthday graffiti on our table. Highly recommend.
Excellent meal-- one of the best I've had in Charlotte. The service was outstanding. Our table was even decorated for our anniversary when we arrived. Still one of the top restaurants in Charlotte and for good reason. Top quality from start to finish.
Excellent service. Consistently great food. The seafood stew was fabulous!
This was my 3rd time to Carpe Diem. All visits were outstanding. I get the vegetarian option while my fiancé always gets the fried chicken. Would definitely recommend!
We have been coming to Carpe Diem since it was located in its former space in Uptown. It is our "go to" place for special occasions (this was our 10th anniversary dinner). The staff is friendly and professional and the food is always fantastic. After 16+ years we still default back to this restaurant when we have guests from out of town we want to impress.
Lovely ambiance, excellent service and food.
Food and service was excellent! Will be back soon!
Reservation made. Anniversary. Table was decorated by staff. That was thoughtful and personal, much appreciated and helped make the evening special. Food was very good. Salmon very flavorful yet the vegetable and congee not flavorful. Steak was very good with great tasting compound butter. Carrot purée very interesting and good.
Our wait staff experience was fantastic. She was just attentive enough to know when we needed something and didn’t hover or interior is during dinner. If it looked like we needed water it was poured without asking. So refreshing . She filled out wine when needed . We talked withher after our meal and the entire staff was professional and prompt.
Perfect place to get together with friends. Food, staff, well everything was terrific.
I've been to Carpe Diem for a number of special occasions, nights out with friends and even rented the back room for a get-together and meal for 40 after a funeral. The food and service are always exceptional. The woodwork and warm ambience make even a table in the middle of the room seem cozy.
Another lovely meal at Carpe Diem -- this place is reliably excellent. Their soups are always good and sometimes amazing, and the cucumber soup I had this time was definitely in the amazing category. Menu items are interesting and flavorful but not bizarre, and always well-prepared. Service is solid, attentive but not intrusive, helpful and flexible. A good place to take someone you want to impress, or if you just want to take a friend for great food and peaceful conversation.
There was only 2 tables occupied for the first half of our dinner. The other table was so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk.
My Husband’s Birthday- and he wanted CD It was perfect- always has been, always will be. Innovative dishes with a southern twist- and some clever cocktails. Add a perfect wine suggestion to go with our entree selections, and you have a memorable, perfect occasion. Thank you Theresa and Crystal.
I've been going to Carpe Diem in all its locations, starting at the former First Baptist Church on North Tryon. I loved it when it was on South Tryon, much closer to the Observer where I worked, so friends and I could go there for lunch. The next location provided more room for patrons but the walk up the stairs was hard for some people. But the decor was great fun and the food was always delicious. The current location has a different, more sophisticated vibe, and the food is still excellent and innovative. Dinner there with friends for birthdays and book club meetings is always a special occasion.
The staff was very friendly, and the food was even better. Thank you for the wonderful experience. my wife and I will definitely be returning.
Enjoyed a good Mother's Day Brunch at Carpe Diem. Good menu selection.
We went for mother's day, not trying to eat here again.
Great Mother’s Day brunch menu. Service was a bit slow and inattentive but overall everyone loved their food and we had a good experience
We went for the Mother's Day Brunch. As they are only open for lunch twice a year, things did not flow as smoothly as one would expect. But it was a very nice meal and afternoon.
My daughter and I celebrated Mother’s Day at wonderful Carpe Diem.
The parking was easy to start with and the courtesies at the reception table were exceptional… Followed by Rebecca, our excellent server. The brunch selection on the Mother’s Day menu was very generous, the portions were very nice and Delicious!
This was our first time and we will return again.you can be sure we will be recommending Carpe Diem to our friends!
First Mother’s Day
The sword fish was excellent, the duck breast was disappointing: too salty and chewy. The choices for dessert were satisfactory (NO CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM). Our server was outstanding and pleasant I am sorry that I cannot remember her name
Our teenage grandchildren had not dined here; it was time for this experience.
We also wanted them to see the interior design architecture.
As always, we are never disappointed. The adults bar cocktails are chilled to perfection; only exceeded by the innovative menu.
We will always continue to recommend to everyone.
Carpe Diem is one of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte NC. The food is always wonderful and the night three friends and I dined here was no exception. I had the falafel waffle, a vegetarian entree that wasa amazing. The taste combination of the falafel (in a waffle shape), the brussels sprouts and the butternut squash was hearty and delicious. One of my friends had the signature buttermilk fried chicken which is one of the best fried chicken dishes any of us have had. The other two friends definitely enjoyed their entrees. . .nothing was left on the plates. We were able to take our time, our service was attentive but not overbearing and the whole experience was relaxing.
Always high class
Have been many times and never disappointed. Our server was excellent--sorry, can't remember his name but remember he said he prepares the butter--which was excellent!
We made the reservation because the menu had paleo-friendly options (no grain or white potatoes) and had good reviews from friends. It was my husband's birthday earlier in the week, and we were finally getting to go out and celebrate. I noted it in the reservation and we arrived to find birthday confetti on the table - a nice touch. The food came out very quickly and was delicious. Possibly a little too much gravy on the sweet potato puree on the lamb shank -- and the cherry stuff (sorry, I don't remember what it was called) was a little sweet, but I loved the scallops and it was the perfect sized entree for me. We opted to skip appetizers so we could enjoy a dessert, and I am so glad -- we went with the Mexican Hot Chocolate Cake and it was perfect!! A spicy flourless style dark chocolate cake that was even better than I imagined! They even put a candle in it for my husband. Only surprise was that it wasn't more crowded.
Thank you for a lovely evening!
Food was excellent and will definitely go back.
“Warm” food was cold. The “special” was all bone and gristle. I expected more and received less even though it was not very busy.
Everything was great! Noise level was a bit high though. Excellent restaurant for special occasions and everyday..,
I love this restaurant and go often! I have the scallops and they were amazing. My friend had the chicken which is their specialty. The waitress was attentive and very knowledgeable. Teresa at the front is one of my favorite people to see every time.
Try the pork shank, it is complex and paired perfectly with a sweet potato puree. Food and service has never disappointed us over the many years.
The food and service were both outstanding! I have been dining here for years and they never disappoint.
I have been to Carpe Diem many times- for special occasions and when friends and family come to visit. The food is always outstanding and the service is exceptional. The ambience is wonderful- I feel like I am dining in Vienna. Carpe Diem is definitely my favorite Charlotte restaurant!
Customer service was top notch!!
I love the atmosphere at Carpe Diem. It's a fine dining experience that is not stuffy. The menu has many small plate options to have a light, reasonably priced dinner, but also includes amazing main course options. We had the scallops which were amazing and the fried chicken entree. I also enjoyed a delicious craft cocktail. The service was excellent and exactly the right amount of attention to enjoy dinner conversation. Easy, free parking right across the street. I highly recommend Carpe Diem.
Thoroughly enjoyed the menu, hard making a choice, however, the shrimp and grits are my new favorite. Wait staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating to food restrictions. Will definitely recommend to others and return.
