The food and drinks at Caroline are definitely worth trying. It's creative and tasty fare. The presentation on the "beet carpaccio" and jalapeno deviled eggs was great and picture-worthy. The portions are a tad small for the price, but that's a small complaint. We're glad we went.
I love the fresh, healthy food choices and the waitstaff are friendly and knowledgable. While we were a large group (7), and there is only so much to be done about the inability to hear one end of the table from the other I have to say it's a bit loud inside. I suspect it's all the concrete and hard surfaces. At any rate, I definitely have and do recommend Caroline to friends.

Oh my gosh! This was first experience at Caroline's and it was great! Perfect location, it was sleek and modern inside. The wait staff were on point, our waiter was so kind and attentive! And the food was phenomenal. 100% recommend this place! It's cute, it's delicious, it's just an overall yes!

Went for a friends birthday. We arrived early but they seated us immediately. There were 4 of us and we all ordered a different entree. Steak, Enchiladas, Salmon and the Chicken. Every meal was over the top delicious. We also had 2 servings of the deviled eggs, again, DELICIOUS! I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. I will be visiting them again, soon.

The atmosphere and meal were great! Hostess was extremely friendly, and so was the waiter. The timing was just a bit off. We asked to have some time between our salad and entrees and we were told no worries we will time it for you. Our entrees arrived about half way through eating our starter salads.... Other than that, everything was nice.

Have eaten here several times over the course of three days. Service is spotty, one day very good, the next day not so much. Food has been excellent and I highly recommend the restaurant and bar.

It really was a good experience! Loved the aesthetic but could have more lighting. We had a large table for our group of 9 and our specific table was dark if you were seated in the middle but had some light if you were on the end. We actually even talked about how we’d prefer more lighting. We also talked about how the service wasn’t very good but we didn’t blame our server it was really the staffing. He was spread thin and we didn’t see much staff around. It took foreverrr to get drinks and he did warn us the bar was backed up but then one was forgotten so he had to be reminded. It was an hour and a half or possibly even longer before food was served but because we were there for a birthday we didn’t notice all too much because we were enjoying socializing with the group. The food wasn’t great nor bad but good/fine. I do have to say the menu was a typical downtown Austin menu, as in there weren’t a whole lot of options. It was just a small one sided menu. What really attracted us was the aesthetic and the cocktails because man were their cocktails really really great. And they weren’t your typical cocktails; they had a twist for each one or something new and different entirely.

The restaurant had a nice decor and vibe, waiter was great, but the food left a lot to be desired. Everything my friends and I ordered tasted very basic with no exciting flavors; essentially tasted like we cooked it ourselves.

Some of the food items are very well executed. Others, the chicken schnitzel for instance, showed promise but disappointed because they lacked flavor (and in the case of the schnitzel, whatever flavor it had was overwhelmed by lemon; there was no balance). The entree portion sizes for schnitzel and halibut were much larger than expected, a real plus. Service was attentive at first, but neglectful by the end of our meal.

We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We were given a private in a room closed off by curtains. The decor was tastefully done, and the ambiance was great. Our drinks were made well and the appetizers and food were delicious. Our server was a little slow getting drinks to us and we didn’t get checked on frequently for refills, he was very nice though. We had a show to make so when he brought the brownie dessert for the birthday girl. We had to have her blow it out quick and he packed it up to go. Everything was perfect just would have appreciated faster service and more frequently. Maybe it was because we were in the side room.

Caroline was suggested to me via an email from the Paramount Theatre. I was seeing a show there that evening and they suggested going to Caroline for dinner since it was just moments away from them. I had no idea what to expect, but I think I found my new favorite restaurant. Our server was so incredibly sweet and funny, and the food! Oh the food is phenomenal! They also have wonderful cocktails. I went with my parents this time and we sat downstairs, but the upstairs looked like a super fun place to hang out with friends for happy hour. I'm going to introduce all of my friends to this restaurant.

Caroline has excellent ambiance, and the service is really good. We had the roasted corn dip, which is the right blend of corn and sweet. I had the Brussels sprouts salad, always a good choice, and my date had the haddock.

Had a business meeting there for dinner. Comfortable place, with good food at a good price point. Wasn't super hungry and order a salad w a piece of Salmon. Very simple, yet tasty.

The food was awful. We both ordered the schnitzel due to all the positive reviews, but wow it was bad. It was so greasy, all we could taste was butter. They clearly don't know what schnitzel is or how to prepare it. The burrata was soupy and inedible. Perhaps people like the food if they've had at least a couple alcoholic drinks? Also, the main dining room was rather dark given the decor. We would never go back.

Tasty dinner - salmon was cooked perfectly. Friendly and attentive waitstaff. Lovely atmosphere, but the loud pop music was rather obnoxious and didn’t fit the restaurant’s ambiance.

Great service ,food and atmosphere !
Very disappointing experience. We ordered the hot & crunchy halibut which our wait person said was the "best dish on the menu." If you like dry, fish with no flavor heavily coated in a tasteless bread-like substance, then this is the dish for you. It was sitting on about 6 wilted kale leaves & 3 warm grape halves. I still cannot work out which part of the dish was "hot." The restaurant was extremely loud, we were sat next to a bus station into which wait staff were apparently taking out their anger by throwing dishes into it. We couldn't wait to leave.

We do have an open kitchen that can be a bit loud from time to time and entrances on both side however our restrooms are located on the second floor.
