Located on the fourth floor of the Hotel Puerto Valdés, in Puerta de Tierra, it has a view of the San Juan Bay and one of the most complete Argentine wine cellars locally. Its cuisine offers a wide variety of select cuts of meat, poultry and seafood that are roasted using the thousand-year-old concept of Kamado.
But what is Kamado? It is an ancient art of cooking meat that allows its flavors and textures to be unique and of an exquisite flavor for the palate. As our executive chef describes us “cooking meat in Kamado is an art.
Carnes Steakhouse offers a relaxed atmosphere for dinner. On its terrace, the visitor will be able to observe the beautiful bay of San Juan, and when there are cruise ships, the view is much more interesting.
To accompany the meats, the pairing is made with a delicious selection of Argentine wines in a cellar that includes an interesting variety.

Sometimes a great experience depends on service, Manuel, the manager, exceeds in caring for customers. The food and the ambience were outstanding. We had the chance to greet the chef at the table and she was very open for any feedback. Overall a great experience. I recommend Carnes for a relax and intimate experience. Seafood options are limited but the salmon was exquisite. Wine choices are not many, but you can bring your own bottle for a small fee. We will definitively go back!

This was a great lowkey dining experience. Fairly priced, excellent service, and GOOD LORD they had a SALAD of all things with a lemon dressing that i can still taste now, 6 weeks later. The salmon was really well prepared, and my partner really enjoyed his ribs, and something else that was beef (I couldn’t taste either, pescatarian). If I return to San Juan, I’d like to dine here again! The server (Stephen, if I’m remembering correctly) was a gem.

We had a wonderful server named Lola and the chefs were all incredible. If you are lucky you might get to try something new on their menu included with your meal. Their churasco and rib eye were both insane. Get the potato purée, it was all delicious. Selections of wines were fantastic too

Nice Argentinean steakhouse featuring a delicious, authentic slow-cooking method imparting a nice smoky flavor. Excellent service, cozy dinning room with balcony and bay views, and good Argentinean wine list. Appetizers to die for!!

One of the best spots I’ve been too in a long time , the food was excellent , staff hands down the best with communication and attentive to my lady and I, plus it’s not over crowded ! Going back to San Juan in October and this time I’ll be sure to get their tomahawk steak !!!

Cozy, casual, great view. By far the best steak I’ve had since moving to Puerto Rico 4 years ago, and I lived in Dorado Beach where the food is outstanding. Definitely check this place out if you want flavor, quality, and satisfaction.
