Carnegie Diner & Cafe
Great food and service.. would definitely return
Food wasn’t the best. Orange juice amazing.
We made a reservation but we still had to wait about 25 minutes. Additionally, my friends burger was very soggy. Overall, I was expecting more especially for the price.
Food is really tasty, the personnel is really nice and service is good!
We had a wonderful time here on a Saturday morning/afternoon,,, The food was awesome, the atmosphere was great, the service was on point and it was a great experience, tha k you for everything, great staff as well 👑🙏🏾🦾🔔
Great service!
Solid food and menu and really great service
Let me make a reservation for 10:30pm and they weren’t even open 😡
Fun experience, workers were quite lovely❤️, food was amazing
We had an absolutely fabulous outdoor brunch with our party of 6 at the Carnegie Diner & Café ! The tables were appropriately spaced apart, the ambiance was great, and the food was beyond delicious, with amazing options and great portion sizes! The friendly, warm staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, valued, and well cared for! We are so glad we chose to dine there, and can't wait to return soon!!!
Friendly courteous staff. Food served in a timely manner.
A new place in Uptown. It has only been open perhaps six weeks or so. Easy to get to as it is tight on the corner of the 57th Street station. Roomy, with lots of windows and plenty of seating. The menu is huge, featuring all the thpical deli favorites. Portions are very good sized, and food is prepared fresh to order.
I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was terrific!! Cooked as requested (medium), with great flavor. Burgers come with fries, slaw, and pickles on the side. The slaw has a very apple cider vinegar flavor which is nice and clean; a welcome palate change from most slaws. Fries are crisp and plentiful, with a hint of garlic, but not overpowering.
Service was great and attentive. This place was very busy on a Sunday late morning, but staff did a fantastic job of taking care of things for patrons. Food comes out rather quickly, and hot. A nice diner addition to the restaurant scene and definitely on my list of places to dine from now on when I visit NYC.
We were really looking forward to our brunch at Carnegie and with that name they had a lot to live up to. While the service wasn’t terrible, nearly everything else was. We ordered a simple meal (eggs & croissant, soup and salad for another, 2 burgers medium rare for the others). It was a busy Sunday afternoon but waiting 45 minutes for a meal that simple was unacceptable. Someone dropped a few cupcakes on the table apologizing for the wait. They were tasteless, but the gesture was made. The burgers were flavorless, carelessly assembled and served on cold rolls! I understand they’d only been open 9 weeks but the staff, kitchen and expeditor were clearly not up to the task at hand. They either need more experienced people of better training. We mentioned there was a birthday and that was ignored.
Such a delicious brunch experience. My friend and I shared the banana caramel French toast, which was out of this world, the Californian omelet, truffle Parmesan fries, and the BLT Quinoa Salad along with a Bloody Mary and Iced Coffee and it was all fantastic!
Went to Carnegie on a weekend NY trip. Had 6 people total. Food was quite tasty and well prepared. Salads were fresh, burgers nicely cooked with great buns and the ribs were very good. The only criticism is that you have to wait awhile to get your food- like about 40 minutes. Loved the extra1,000 points though on OT.
Would eat there again!!
Sad to report - we were so looking forward to something new in our neighborhood for before and after theatre. I made a reservation for 4 and specifically asked for a booth. We arrived - it wasn't a full house - but they told us that we couldn't have a booth and sat us next to a waiter's station at a table right opposite the toilets. Throughout our entire meal, waiters were back and forth at the station making noise (only doing their jobs - not their fault). Terrible seat. That table should be eliminated totally. Our waiter was attentive and had a lot of personality and we were served in plenty of time to make our 8pm curtain. But the matter of requesting a booth and being seated next to the toilets and waiters station is a deal breaker for me. I won't be going back.
The sandwiches were pretty expensive, for what they were. The chicken sandwich was dry and nothing special. The burger was OK, the pastrami was good. Salad dressing choices were limited. We won't go back.
The wait was too long. Ironically while waiting so long for our food the table in front of us complained about food and the table behind us complained their wait time and food. There was a couple sitting next to us and they left because the server was taking too long to service them. When our food did come 25 minutes later the food was horrible. I ordered the pastrami sandwich. On the menu they proclaim how they put a half pound of pastrami on the sandwich. My pastrami sandwich looked emaciated. It was horrible no French fries just a sandwich with pickles and sauerkraut for $20.
My wife had the avocado toast which tasted horrible and my daughter had the lobster egg platter which tasted horrible. All in all just a bad a experience. Never will I go there again. Oh and there was this old man walking around the restaurant back and forth. I thought he was the manager but he never asked a question or checked on the tables. Very very weird.
Glad to have this diner at this location. Perfect for pre/post at Carnegie Hall.
Good selection of egg dishes, along with salads and soups. Deserts were just what was needed after a show.
Will be back.
Service was great, appreciated our waiter and his attentiveness.
Convenient before and after local theater venues Carnegie Hall, City Center, MTC or lunch anytime. It's not like the old Carnegie Deli, but its great to have it in the area.
very overpriced for what it is. avocado toast was good but not worth $15!
Celebrating
Preconceptions dinner. Relaxing, good food and service. Newly redecorated. Pleasant experience.
Carnegie Diner is such an incredible addition to the neighborhood. It has a classic dining style but is modernized. With a newly opened restaurant expect there to be some missteps but as long as you are patient to the newly opened business it becomes easy to warm up to. Our waitress was attentive even though our order was some how misplaced, she made sure we were taken care. We had breakfast, coffee was unlimited and it was great coffee according to my coffee loving partner and breakfast was very filling as well. We will be returning to try their lunch menu soon. Definitely recommend this place.
Great service, poor food quality.
Very nice experience. Great chicken soup and coconut cake. Very fresh and clean. Delightful and helpful staff
Service was awful. Waitress brought my meal 20 minutes before my friend. No explanations. Asked questions. Never got answers. Food was good but worth the aggravation for a $20 sandwich that was smaller than a grilled cheese not so much.
Chicken was inedible, food order was inaccurate and sent bsck. Entree appeared completely different. And dessert was substituted and brought to me without authorized. I'm not going back.
