Incredibly slow service! Food took forever to arrive, and server was inattentive.
Salted Carmel waffle was delicious! Thank you for a great brunch!
I am giving this place top marks .. eventhough on arrival and having a booking at 11am with a subsequent timed appointment after we were added to a waitlist!! Firat come first served - apparently!! So why make a reservation??? The wait was around 20 minutes outside in the autumn chill - would not fancy that mid-winter. Once seated the food was excellent and management gave us a couple of mimosas as an extra. Thanks again!!
Great service and excellent food! We were a larger party with 7. We were dining prior to going to theater.
first time at this renowned location and it was sort of what i expected. good brunch menu, great coffee and fine food
a lot of servers so despite being busy the pace was quick
definitely a place for a mid day brunch
Omelette was overcooked. Long wait for the food to arrive.
Wonderful food and service
Slow and unfriendly service. The only thing that came fast was the bill, but we hadn’t ordered dessert.
We made a reservation for 14 people on a Sunday morning, which is a big ask for a busy diner. Despite that fact (and some miscommunication), the Carnegie Diner managed to seat all of us. The food was very good -- I had a country style omelette and coffee. However, it was busy enough that they weren't allowing customizations on the omelettes and they didn't have crepes. Otherwise, everyone in our large party was happy, and the service was attentive.
Great vibe and fast service. Food was very good for a diner.
The food was not as good as expected. Bacon was too crispy and dry. The hash browns were not seasoned the best either.
The food was very good, and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed the view of Carnegie Hall.
My husband and I decided to try the Carnegie for lunch because it was close to our hotel. We enjoyed it so much we came back for brunch a few days later and then brought our granddaughter for lunch on a third visit. The dishes were interestingly composed, beautifully presented and delicious. The wait staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. We will visit again the next time we are in New York.
An amazing place to brunch ! Love the fact that they serve family style meals
Stumbled on this great Diner across from Carnegie Hall. Our hostess, Janelle, was so pleasant and helpful, and seated us at a perfect outside table. The hamburgers and sandwiches tasted great- plus they had an afternoon happy hour with 3 choices of margaritas, and beer specials. Went back for brunch a few days later, and the fruit covered waffle was the best.
Went there for dinner to use a $100 OpenTable Dining Reward. The Onion Rings were very good, but our's were served in a bowl while others were served in a much nicer way.
The burger with fried egg was AWESOME, and my wife liked her salad. Asking for more water, and other things took time as they weren't super attentive. It was also clear our server didn't know the menu well at all.
The big disappointment was dessert. The cupcakes looked bad in the display case and the cakes and pies look very ordinary for a $9 slice. Our Carrot Cake was mediocre to bad. Total waste of money.
Overall very good but not for dessert.
Tourist trap with terrible service.
I made a reservation to take my parents out to breakfast here at 10:45am on a Sunday. The hostess denied we had a reservation and then seated us in a spot that is in the middle of the line of people waiting to get in, if I turned around there was just a wall of butts.
We ordered and then waited 1 hour 15 minutes before leaving without food. The server was unapologetic and dismissive. I would never recommend this place.
All the staff was super friendly, the gentleman that removes empty plates and glasses from Mexico went above and beyond to assure our visit was perfect. Our server was also super friendly and curteaus.
Everything was great and will be coming back very soon
Excellent! Sat on the patio, great service, great food. Split the Ruben and blueberry pancakes, yum!!
After theater. Staff was fine. Chicken was undercooked. That was main part of meal.
Waiter was very rude
The food was great, had so many different options and the price was the icing on the cake. They messed up my order and immediately fixed with no problem. My party loved sitting outside. The only bad part was the noise but we are on 7ave, they can't control the noise.
Restaurant was very crowded which is to be expected on a Sunday morning. We had a large group so made a reservation which was honored with only a short wait. Bus person came with water glasses and after a bit the waiter came for drink (coffee, juice and tea.) and food orders. Because of crowd couldn’t order make your own omelette or crepes. Not a big deal as there are some nice breakfast choices. Problem came as food took over 40 minutes to come out. Again place crowded but that’s a bit long for breakfast food. No one came to refill water glasses or coffee cups. That would have been a nice touch. There were abundant staff. Problem I believe, is that they added tables outside but didn’t add cooking space. Or they don’t have an experienced organizer running the kitchen. Food was very good and waiter was nice but not particularly attentive. Eventually did get coffee refilled after he brought the food. We were charged foe bottomless coffee - not quite really.
Overall food was good so just bring patience!
Lovely breakfast and coffee
The food was very good and the service was great
Very good pricing for New York
Well over priced even for this part of the city. It’s all pre made food and nothing special about it. I had the chicken and waffles, very bland and boring presentation. Pre-made chicken strips etc. wife had pancakes, nothing special there either. Much better food and bigger portions to be had in Manhattan.
Amazing food! Pastrami was to die for. Melt in your mouth. Also got the Times Square burger and it was juicy and flavorful. Fries were very crispy. Speedy service. Will definitely go back again to try other items on the menu.
Food was good but not great. Service was friendly and answered our questions.
So the atmosphere was great I enjoyed everything about the place, I think my only problem was the food. I have mixed feelings about the food. I think they make outstandingly burgers personally, I think the patties are really great I can really get behind this place if they only sold burgers and became a burger house. Yet they sell other things such as pasta and chicken, my problem isn’t them selling the dishes, it’s more along the lines of how the food was executed it was poor in my opinion, the pasta to oily and not enough flavor to it and the fried chicken was horrendous I added salt to it and it still didn’t taste very flavorful. What I think I enjoyed was the burgers, I haven’t tried a few items on their menu but I think sticking to burgers seems like a great idea.
Buen desayuno familiar en buena ubicación
Portions were surprisingly generous! (Almost more than I could eat!) I got an omelette was excellent. The breakfast meats were flavorful and tasted great. There were also good reviews from our party for the ham and cheese croissant and the fresh fruit bowl was huge! I would definitely eat here again.
La atención y la comida!
Genial como siempre
Muchas Gracias por la atención
Underwhelmed. Especially given the ratings. Food was bland and forgettable.
Great diner with fantastic food and great drinks
Great location one block from our hotel. Delicious food (we did Sunday breakfast) and a great size cup of coffee. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Food delivered quick and hot.
Overpriced generic food. Just a diner trying to convince people it's a nice place. It isn't.
Great food and drinks. We all enjoyed trying out different waffles & French toast. Our server was so sweet and very helpful! Will definitely come back :)
