The evening was wonderful! The waitress was gracious and helpful and very pleasant. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was warm and even romantic.

Great food and the server was very friendly. We will be back.

Even with what I'm about to say i would still recommend trying the restaurant at least once.

Everything was very good even the food but i had to rate the food as a 3 (good) and not a 4 (very good) because of price. I felt i have been other places where the food wow'd me (excellent) and paid the same price or where the food was just as good but i paid less. In the end 1 appetizer 1 steak 1 veal dish 2 sides and 1 glass of wine cost two ppl $150. I left feeling like something in the $100-115 range based on similar past experiences would've been fair. So not crazy over priced but moderately. I the end everything still tasted great and we were treated great so we left happy!

And i do give bonus points for being attached to a parking lot with an elevator, seeing as spots are on the top floor, that they validate parking for.

So go and try it out specifically for the quality of food, service and ambiance but go knowing that you may leave feeling like you've slightly overpaid.

My Salad did not have enough dressing. The side spaghetti was bland and flavourless. The fries were excellent. My steak was well done but by slicing as they did....it cooled very quickly. The food was not overly hot. I don't feel the quality and value were there for the price.

The service was excellent, the staff made some great food and drink suggestions, meals were brought out promptly and everything was top quality.

Our server Alan was excepional. He knew the menu and the ingredients. Wasn't afraid to recommend options. Loved that we weren't rushed and Alan gave us an opportunity to relax between apps and main.

Great food, service and overall experience. Menu is pricey but is worth the night out, recommended it for special occasions/date nights or just a night out, will be returning.

Best meal either of us have ever had!

We very much enjoyed the food and the ambiance. A little pricey for our retired selves but there were enough items of less cost that were satisfactory. Would definitely come back.

We would definitely return to Carne. The food was excellent, loved our booth seating and our waiter very knowledgeable and friendly. It was a bit pricy and our service was a bit long at 2 hours and 10 minutes considering we were the first ones in the restaurant.

As always Carne was fabulous. Service, ambiance, food... all well done.

My wife enjoyed the special of the day: an eye of rib with prawns. The latter being the only down side in that there were just three!

I indulged in the Tenderloin (harmony-Alberta)... perfectly tender with the expected melt-in-your-mouth follow through.

We went easy on the sides: Tuscan fries (always a safe choice) and tempura cauliflower; equally splendid.

We decided to go light on the wine... going with the governo from Italy. Paired nicely with our meal. Inexpensive to boot!

My boyfriend and I went to Carne Italian Chop House for our 3rd anniversary. The food was absolutely amazing & the portion sizes were good! Our server Krystina was very attentive and sociable. We will definitely be returning!

Every single bite of our meal was incredible! From the bread served with dipping oil and vinegar to the beef carpaccio appetizer to the Brussels sprouts, truffle fries and mushroom sides and of course the wagyu beef - our table of 4 couldn’t get enough! Truly memorable and worth the splurge! Treat yourself and go!

The meal and the service were exceptional! We had the Beef Carpaccio as a starter and it was fabulous! We then had the Sweet Garlic Caesar which was tasty and enjoyable, but not the best we've ever had. Our waiter, Brian, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the Snake River Eye of Rib which was AMAZING! I don't think we have ever enjoyed a steak as much! The steak came with garlic prawns which were also excellent. As sides, we ordered the Tempura Cauliflower (strangely delicious) and Garlic Butter Button Mushrooms (tasted as incredible as they smelled). The side dishes were very large portions and we took most of it home. We can't compliment our server, Brian, enough. He was attentive and helpful without being intrusive. We will definitely be making Carne Italian Chophouse our go-to restaurant for future special occasions!

For what you pay you would expect to be as good as 529. Much preferred the old 295 York. Calamari was under cooked and came with tomato sauce(felt like you were eating spaghetti), protein portions are tiny, and brussel sprouts were nice and burnt as well. Tacky decor in the back(where we sat), and no parking, just helped to burry the hatchet... to bad cause we really enjoyed the old 295..
On a side note all the staff are extremely pleasant!... except for the one waitress who wasn't rude or anything, but just felt like she was being forced to be nice, just not what you expect for a $200 bill..

grabbed a last minute reservation on valentines evening, appreciated being able to get in. we just had coffee and dessert, which was great. really appreciated the server brewing a fresh pot of decaf as it was a late evening, and we were attended to without being bothered.

Food is exceptional, however, very pricey for what it is. 2 people can easily walk out with a $300+ bill.

AMAZING! Cannot praise this place enough, I brought my boyfriends here for his birthday and we were both blow away. Service was amazing, the server was extremely knowledgable about the menu and gave fantastic recommendations. Food was unbelievable! We had the 16oz New York Strip, brussel sprouts, mushrooms and friends for sides and beef carpaccio for an appetizer. We didn't leave hungry that is forsure.

As amazing as the food is, you can't put service in the back seat.
Our server was extremely inexperienced; while clearing off the table after our salads, lettuce was left on the table - gross. Blind to social cues such as credit cards and coat check tickets on the table, our server continued to offer dessert and drinks instead of offering us the bill.
If service could match the meals and the price tag it would be a much more enjoyable experience.

This is an excellent establishment, we were impressed with it as soon as we entered the building, there is free parking in the parkade next to it.
We were seated in a private booth for 2 which was perfect for privacy and conversation.
Both had the Brandt lake Waygu steaks and they were perfect although I think my girlfriends was a nicer cut we both were happy, the seared scallops are to die for as well as the sides very generous portions.

OMG! We had such a wonderful dining experience at Carne! The food was amazing in freshness, taste and presentation. The service was super professional, without being stuffy. Our server was exceptionally polite, efficient, accommodating and helpful. I Had the Wagyu rib steak and it was most definitely thee best steak i have ever had in my 55 years!! And the side of scallops where cook perfectly - like butter, with just the right amount of spice to enhance. Prices are above average, but you get high quality food and good sized servings. You order your main, and add your sides to your meal as an extra: however, the side servings are big enough to share for two.
The baked mussels were cooked to perfection, and the serving size is big enough to share. My husband had the spicy sausage penne, and he had to take half his meal home, it was so big. They have an excellent Italian wine selection, as well as many craft beers and top shelf liquors. Not your run of the mill steakhouse by FAR!
If you are looking for a place to go to have a special occasion dinner, or simply want to treat yourself to an exceptionally prepared meal, I highly recommend Carne on York Avenue!
PS. Try the Godfather cocktail for an after dinner drink. :-)

One of the best meals we’ve had in a restaurant! Everything was absolutely delicious!! The wagyu steak, brussel sprout and Parmesan fries sides, carpaccio appetizer, everything was perfect! We will be back!

Service was extremely slow. Main meal took an hour after appetizers. Steak came cold.

This is our 2nd time visiting Carne, and it was again outstanding. My brother-in-law has worked in the cattle business for 20+ years and Loves steak. He said that was the BEST he had ever had. Our appetizers did not disappoint and the Black Magic was as good as the PLV days.
