   Service was fantastic and chef made accommodations for allergies - it was a Tuesday night so not too busy for making accommodations. Bar tender was fantastic too - friendly and made a great martini.

    Nice space, excellent service and tasty food, don't expect to leave feeling full unless you want to spend a LOT of money. We ordered 6 dishes for 4 people along with a bottle of wine, we spent $250 and left hungry. It is a great place to stop for a cocktail and an appetizer, but not the best place for a birthday dinner with a family.

    I was warmly greeted and seated quickly. I had just the right amount of time to look over the menu and then every course was brought out right on time. Beet salad….amazing! Short ribs….amazing! Definitely a must try and will be back spot

    Once again Carnal delivered. Just a week night out was made special by our lovely server, Maylis. We shared the Pig Head Fritters, full of porky deliciousness, the Gem salad, which I crave and we each had the 4 piece chicken wings, which I highly recommend. Thank you for a really nice dinner out!

    This was the second time we dined here. We came back because the food is amazing, although they are very small portions. The service was atrocious the first time, and unfortunately, the second time. After we ordered our first course, we were ignored and not checked on, and had to ask another server for our bill and we left. I was hoping for a very different experience, and was let down. This place could be epic if they had amazing service and larger portions. I have read a ton of reviews that people have had the same experience. I would think that it would change of so many people felt that way that we felt, and others. I even let them know prior to coming back about the service last time, and nothing changed. If you go there, don’t expect to leave satiated, or with a good taste in your mouth like your business was appreciated.

    The food was great, everyone loved their food. The hits were the beef short ribs and the maitake mushrooms were a must have. Lots of servers. We went on a Saturday night at 5:15 and every table was full by 6:00. I will definitely comeback, but on a less busy night.

    Tried giving carnal a few chances and have been let down by the service on every occasion. The food kept us coming back, but the execution of both the mushrooms and the broccolini were off. The short ribs tasted like corned beef. Really disappointed that I most likely won’t be coming back and will definitely let others know that the service is horrible.

    Made our reservation, arrived early, and we were seated immediately. Ordered wings, seared pork cap, broccolini, and spare ribs. Phenomenal food, excellent service, and didn’t break the bank. We will go again.

    We love Carnal. Most especially when the menu changes as one gets a sense of how excited the kitchen staff is to put on their best show. The atmosphere is lively, the wait staff is exemplary and the drinks are above par for Bellingham. Always a lovely experience no matter when you go.

    Some table locations are better than others. Started out in the back, near the restrooms and by the garage door that opens in the summer when it is warm. Not so good. After a table opened up in the middle of the restaurant, they moved us near the fireplace and where there was more atmosphere and ambiance. Service was good but the hostesses could have been friendlier. The first one didn't even acknowledge us when we walked up to the hostess stand. Service got better as the night progressed. They also were out of the whiskey I requested (on their list) and one of the dishes on the menu. It was only 7:15pm. How do you run out of a menu item already? Timing was off a bit. They brought our cocktails, and after taking a sip, 2 of our 4 plates arrived. It would have been nice to enjoy the cocktail a bit before the entrees started showing up. The cod was extremely delicious, but lukewarm. The pork cap was overcooked and tasted like a rubbery pork chop. The beet salad and the broccolini, no complaints, tasty.

    I ordered the short ribs and they were amazing! Shared a salad and the broccolini, it was plenty. Lots of fun controls and a good wine selection. The ambiance is great, we sat up at the bar which was entertaining. It was pretty noisy so not great for conversations if you have a larger group. Great service, knowledgeable bartenders.
