Carmine's McGregor Square
Artichoke hearts, portobello mushrooms, and spinach in a pomodoro sauce
Boston and arugula, toasted pistachios, fresh sliced pears, gorgonzola cheese, and a pear cider vinaigrette
Medallions lightly breaded and fried, baked with marinara and melted mozzarella
Great lunch choices. Can't wait to try it for dinner.
From hello, the service and food quality is consistently exceptional.
The food was excellent and the service was great!
Not worth the money. Food okay but not worth it. Service was awful.
Just not sure why not fish dinners without pasta but good!
My friends and I want to preface by saying we know everyone is short staffed and we also work in hospitality so we get it. But, I think the bartenders need a lesson is making Moscow mules, there is no olive oil or butter for the faint garlic bread you get. We asked for a Caesar salad with the dressing on the side and I’m so glad we did! Not only did we have to send it back and wait 15 minutes for a naked salad to return but someone was very heavy handed with the anchovies in the dressing. It was to the point where it was inedible. The rest of the food was fine. Nothing extraordinary or note worthy. We eventually complained to the manager about some smokers outside and am shocked no one at the bar complained first. I truly hate being a complainer but I think restaurants needs to step up their game and I also think everyone should look happy to be at work serving people instead of looking like Patriots fans after they lose a game.
The service was excellent! It was a beautiful restaurant in a nice area.
Zero description of menu items and many traditional dishes are made very none traditional. Pasta choices are very limited and just taste like what you buy at the store for 2.19. Reviews suggest this is one of the top places in Denver. I hope Denver food isn’t this bad everywhere.
Wish they were wearing masks
We love Carmine’s on Penn and were excited to try the newer location. The food was excellent just as we remembered, however the wait staff was way less than to be desired. She was defensive regarding everything we asked for including that we did not actually order another drink. It was also not removed from our tab, but instead we were told we did order it. We confronted her about this and she again disputed. Finally we were given new wait staff who was great, although I do believe it would be been reasonable for the management to come and speak with us about the change. Also, it would have been really appreciated to discount our tab for the horrible initial service. But alas…
Loved it. Highly recommend. A little cramped but we did ok. Would definitely go back.
Too loud. Back room so loud we had to practically shout to each other.
Wonderful food and service in a great location. Will definitely eat here again.
A perfect birthday dinner for my Dad!
Everything was great but they are understaffed and it showed. However, our server tried and accomplished the best she could with the situation.
Food, drinks, wine and ambiance all beautiful!
Food was delicious, ambiance was romantic and calm, great for a date night or a family dinner.
This dinner took 2+ hours which was crazy
I think I would recommend the restaurant if we had experienced better service. It would be great to have other wines besides Italian.
Wanted to love but it was a rough experience. Terrible service. Mediocre food.
Service couldn’t have been better, but food was marginal. We used to dine regularly at Carmine’s on Penn. This didn’t come close.
Great meal! Large portions, even for family sizes. We liked it.
Dinner at Carmine's was delightful. Our waitress, Brittany was fantastic and we really enjoyed our table at the front of the restaurant. The family style food was terrific and the cocktail and wine selection was very good! A great time was had by all!
We would recommend Carmines to friends and family both the Italian food and atmosphere.
Quick and delicious. Our drinks and meal were served promptly and did not disappoint.
Birthday get together. Great food wine and Ambience
Tyrone was an amazing server- so friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Food was amazing!
Food was really salty. We ordered the carbonara, white clam sauce and vodka ravioli. Atmosphere was nice but the restaurant was already loud. The experience was okay
We were trying the McGregor square location for the first time since we have had great experiences at the Penn location.
We will not got back nor recommend.
Our server was constantly up selling us on dishes. We ordered the seasonal ravioli as an app and said for two, she brought us the family size.
The Pasta del Capo did not have the same flavor/creaminess as the Penn street and the cook did not put the sausage in it (we were told my our server it came w sausage).
One person in our party asked for a small cup of soup. She did not explain how the soup is portioned - just brought the large pot and explained that was the only option.
Seasonal cocktails were ok - the one w thyme seemed a bit light and watery.
great customer service. Made it feel like a family owned business!
Food was amazing and service was wonderful. Lighting was a bit too bright for some reason.
The food was good. Tyson our waiter was excellent. Ambience was mediocre. We did not like the menu which did not allow individual dinners.
Poor service and very loud! Good food though.
Wonderful food and service! Really enjoyed our time there. I agree they need to invest in a dimmer switch the lighting is way too bright for dinner. Recommend giving it a go.
Our server was great!
Far less noisy than carmines on penn, which is nice!!
Please make a dish with spaghetti, sautéed garlic slivers and vodka sauce.
Kitchen prepared it for us upon request and it was the best dish we had out of three. Simple but amazing!
The only part of the meal that was a tad bit more than I expected was the tiramisu, although it was just soaked in the topping versus being a square piece, which is much more appetizing
The lights are too bright we all noticed right when we walked in but after asking 4 or 5 staff members a lovely water boy clarified that they could not be dimmed ! Boo.! The space felt like it needed some warmth or coziness added . Felt stark like a museum. Our waiter was great and seemed to be passionate about his job . Food was just ok not great .
Won’t be back to that location .
Love this location- great food, not too expensive. The vodka sauce is amazing! A fun night out!
We met another couple at Carmine's for dinner. Our first time there and food was decent. The hostess was friendly however, the server and food delivery staff were not friendly at all. We had a reservation and were on time. The four of us felt they were little abrupt and we were a inconvenience to them from the beginning?? In fact at the end they had a delay in getting us our desert, I think they forgot about it and then we overheard one of the servers say fill up their water and get them their ticket! We all thought that was a little rude since they were the ones holding us up and then wanting to rush us out. I'm all about experiences when I go out to eat and this was not one of the best ones!
We’ve been to Carmines on Penn many times and will continue to go to that location. We thought we would try Carmines at McGregor square because it’s new, but wish we didn’t switch it up. The food was almost as good as the Penn Street location, but the service was far behind. The atmosphere at Carmines on Penn is also much better. We were rushed through the entire dinner process in under an hour. We were not offered dessert or another drink, which we wanted, and we would have stayed longer, but felt like they wanted our table. Carmines at McGregor Square needs some work, it seems like the staff is still learning and does not quite grasp the entire concept of the original restaurant. I would recommend Carmines on Penn, but not this location.
Food is served ‘family or 2 person style’ when really the portions are for one person. I’m a tiny person and the 2 person servings were embarrassing. Veal was extra chewy and overdone- the few pieces we got. I didn’t expect a ton of veal $27, but I thought it would come with a side of pasta or something so my fault for not asking. Not worth going to again and I’m not picky, but pricing and quality do not match at all. Even the salad was an iceberg mix for the salad- right out of a bag. I’ve seen dive bars with higher quality lettuce lol
