Carmine's Chicago Ratings and Reviews
Went for my dads birthday! Food was phenomenal. I had the breaded pork chops. There was 13 people and most had some pasta dish which everyone said was great. Two only drawbacks - wine was extremely expensive. For example they had a Cakebread wine for $150. The wine sells at the store for $40. The other drawback was the Calamari. Everything else we all loved! Prices for food were very reasonable.
Food is great at Carmine’s, we had an eve new year 2018 dinner with the family, Kent was a great host, food perfectly cooked and hot. They gave away some New year stuff for celebration as well as a bottle of champagne to each table. We had a great time, Carmine’s is a must when I come to Chicago and last night was the confirmation of it. No way I come to Chicago without stopping by this great restaurant.
We were in town for New Year's and wanted to go somewhere for a nice meal. Carmine's was recommended to me by a co-worker. We really enjoyed our meal and the restaurant in general. The service was great and the food was excellent. Serving size was generous and the prices were not too bad. We will definitely be returning in the future.
I lived in Chicago for 12 years and this is one of my all time favorite Rosebud restaurants. Very consistent when it comes to service and food. Never had a bad meal or poor service here. You will never leave hungry. I now live in Dallas and would love it if they opened up a Carmines down in the Big "D".
We are from out of state and always enjoy eating here when we are in town. Both of my grandsons ordered the mussels as they had ate them in the past. On one of the orders there were sand crabs in the mussels .. 5 of them. When we asked the waitress about this she gathered them up acting somewhat shocked and took them to find out. Came back and said the cook says that it can be common as they have no control as to what gets in the mussels. Felt they could have compensated that meal or gave him a desert or something. 5 in our dinner party and we were all a little taken back by the sand crabs especially that he actually ate one...
They overbooked people. I’ve never seen a restaurant quite this full. There were people standing between tables. They seated us half an hour after our reservation time at a high top table in the bar. There were people bumping into us the whole meal. All that said, the food was good. It was just an unpleasant experience overall.
Carmine's was one of the few places open on Christmas Day and we needed an outing for dinner and Carmine's was the perfect choice. Our server was one of the Best I have ever had, pleasant, helpful, attentive, but not overly so and the food was delicious. ....large portions gave us some to take home for the following day. It was Very Crowded, and High Energy as everyone was enjoying the evening.
Carmine’s in Chicago was a Christmas treat. The place was packed. We arrived a little early for our reservation. We ordered drinks at the bar (65 for 4 drinks with the tip). An older gentleman passed out a one of the tables and my daughter helped his wife out until the paramedics arrived. They proceeded to seat us at the same table in the bar which had people bumping into us all night. The meals arrived and the steak was way over cooked. We sent it back and got another over cooked steak. The rest of the food was good.
Our family wanted a place to celebrate Christmas and we needed a place for the get-together.
We selected Carmine's. We had been there before on special occasions, but this was different. The group was larger than the others. This time ten were going to be with us, and we needed to keep two generations happy. Carmine's handled the event perfectly. Our helped us make the best selection and serve everyone without a long wait. We passed the selections around the table family style and the result was a success worthy of the celebration.
The service and food where great. The table we had was by the bar. We had people standing around our table the whole time we where there, seem like they should limit the crowd around the tables. We spent $350 for the meal seems like they should protect the experience.
We were here for Christmas dinner. Crowded but we were seated promptly at time of our reservation. The food was wonderful and our waiter was even better. The only downside is we were seated at a table where I looked at the comings and goings of the kitchen. Will be back but will be seated elsewhere.
