The chicken parm was awesome and that coconut cake...fuggitaboutit...
Carmine's is always great. Fun,lively atmosphere on Saturday night and equally great for early lunch on Sunday! Food and service are consistently excellent, never rushed though they are always packed. They can handle a big group ( not everywhere can) for dinner. The servings are very generous so either be really hungry or split with someone. Carmine's is one of my "go-to"
Food amazing as always. Very loud next to the band but it was still great! We will be back soon!
Good restaurant...but I'm a foodie and not my place for dining. Great for large groups.
I love this place! Had a great waiter who helped us choose the best options for food & wine. We come here every time we visit Chicago
Our waitress was very knowledgeable and accommodating. They are very willing to customize your pasta dishes. The eggplant stack is delicious. Stay AWAY from the $22 pizzas. We had five people at our table that ate the pizzas and no one said they were great. My nephew didn’t like his pizza at all.The pizzas also are made in a separate oven and arrived at our table ten minutes after everyone else’s dishes arrived. Stick with pasta here.
Food was superb. Service was top-notch.
Wow! Everything about the evening was fantastic. The service was top notch & thefood was some of the best Italian I’ve ever had. My only recommendation would be to consider sharing an entree. The portions are huge. I will definitely go back on my next trip.
Great family style Italian. Part of the Rosebud restaurant group in Chicago. Menu is similar to the Rosebud in Little Italy. Homemade pasta. You can't go wrong here.
Great restaurant, legendary. Excellent service, waiter had been there 24 years, honestly, best service you can ask for. Prices are not cheap so be ready for that and everything is ala carte. Dinner for two including tip was $150.00 and that was with one drink each. So, great for special occasions and would go back again. Food Quality was excellent.
Our Waitress did not care to help with questions and seemed uninterested in our experience. I wish she would have told us the side salad my son ordered with his filet could have served four people. Maybe I should have known since it was $12. My daughter’s gluten free pasta was cut up into small pieces which she didn’t appreciate and we were charged more than what it stated on the menu. The whitefish was very good but did not come with the side of pasta I ordered. We spent a lot for poor service and presentation.
staff is nice, but food is very overpriced for what it is. Portions are large, however.
Excellent service and delicious food. We will definitely return!
Took 10 minutes to be seated, even with reservations. Food took half hour to arrive after apps were finished.
Carmines did not disappoint. Grilled calamari is my new favorite food and our waiter Scott was fabulous!!!
Consistently great. Every time
The server me and my husband had was amazing
Consistent quality service, consistent quality food and decent value.
Our waiter was excellent, the mushrooms were to die for, & i just plain loved everything about the restraunt! My compliment to the chef!
Everything was good but our favorite is the Brick Chicken
The wife and I had never been here, but heard many good things about the restaurant. So we decided to try the place and I can tell you that this will be my favorite place when I come downtown from now on. The selection on the menu was complete, I was just stuck with what to order and had the rigatoni with vodka sauce and sausage, with a garden salad. The food was without question outstanding and the service from our waiter “Scott” was excellent. From Zion to Evergreen Park, this was the best Italian I ever had, well worth the trip over.
Great times! A great waitress has to be much more than nice; they must understand timing from start to finish; know the menu and your order, and be friends and offer great service. Rachel did all that.
Food was excellent. From warm bread, to tender calamari (which you can't find just anywhere), to wonderful pasta dishes.
As far as environment, a table near us had an engagement so it must qualify as romantic, several dates were clearly going on, at least one business group, and several groups of friends.
Finally, one of the more reasonably priced excellent restaurants in that area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Carmine's while visiting Chicago for a long weekend. It was only a short walk from our hotel. Though crowded, we were greeted with a smile and seated immediately upon arrival for our reservation. The waiter was attentive and engaging, but not annoying. He was able to fulfill a special request for a vegetarian (pasta primavera) dish. The fried calamari was crisp, yet tender, and served with a warm marinara and a cocktail sauce. My spouse had the Risotto with Shrimp & Asparagus, while I had the Rigatoni alla Vodka. Both portions were large and the entrees were delicious. The Pasta Primavera was very good and enjoyed by one of our guests. We would gladly dine here again.
Fantastic dinner with a group of 8 for a birthday. We had Danny as our waiter and he was top notch. We never wanted for anything and he made sure we had enough but didn’t over order. We will now only request him when we return!
Food was really good. Service was great! Will definitely return.
The restaurant was great, the food was great but the service was not good at all. The serve acted as if she didn't want to be bothered she was very short and sarcastic.
Very accommodating going from 8 to 6 people. Excellent food and service without breaking the bank. Will definitely go back the next time business calls me back to Chicago.
We sat with our group of 7 in the back of the indoor/outdoor room. We immediately let the waiter know it was freezing, we all wore our coats. They were never able to regulate the temperature, the food at the end of the meal was as cold as if it had just come out of the refrigerator. Waiter was good as was the food, but it was very uncomfortable and ruined the evening. They should never use that back table, disappointing.
Fabulous! Food and service was absolutely amazing!
We have been dining at Carmine’s for years and have always enjoyed the experience. This time they seated us on the 3rd level. It was 20 degrees hotter than the second floor and stuffy. The noise bounced off the wood floor and the wood ceiling so we spent the evening yelling at each other in order to hear over the neighboring tables. It was a disaster. My crab and lobster fettuccine was boring and it was difficult to find the seafood. My husband had veal saltimbocca and raved that it was delicious.
Stay away from the 3rd level here as it is both hot and loud.
Party of 2 with reservations and was bumped to another table within the enclosde-heated outdoor casual family dinning area. If we had our family, that would had been OK, not when your taking a break from the routine and dressed accordingly.
The food and service were excellent!
Very well greeted, server was very friendly, courteous and flexible. Food was delicious (thumbs up) ambience and crowd was also great. Highly recommended
Very loud but decent Italian meal
Great food and good spot for a team dinner!
Our waitress Nicole was amazing
Entrees were pricey. Had a great experience though
Seats by the kitchen were loud and had a bad draft. Luckily our server was excellent!
Great as always!
