Carmine's Chicago Ratings and Reviews
We brought our 10 year old grandson for a birthday dinner.
Got the second floor window corner booth and gratis tiramisu.
Salvatore was our friendly and k knowledgeable waiter, all our food was delicious. Our grandson said it was a great birthday celebration with us. Thanks.
Rush Street Better than Other Locations! We recently dined in their Naperville location and the food was a "miss" but here in the gold coast service and freshness shine. Started off sharing the grilled calamari and Caesar Salad. For the main, the appetizer portion of HUGE steamed mussels in a garlic tomato broth was more than enough. My husband had the chicken piccata which boasted two large chicken breasts (which he enjoyed for lunch the next day). Desserts are big enough for four persons.
I was in town for just a weekend get away with my 23 year old daughter. We wanted Italian, and Carmine's was within walking distance of our hotel, so we made a reservation. We were not disappointed! They got us in even a few minutes early so we didn't have to wait at all. The bread was great, the drinks were delicious and our entrees were amazing! My daughter had the beef medallions and I had fettuccine alfredo with shrimp and we were so happy with our selections! The creme brulee for dessert just topped off a fantastic meal! Our server was great and we enjoyed our entire experience and will most certainly be back!!
I find Carmine's a great place to take a large family, with energetic children to older family members whose focus is more on the great entrees. Our waitress was outstanding and deserved a generous tip. Very accommodating! It's my favorite "go to" restaurant in Chicago.
Disappointing experience, all related to service. The food and drink was just what we were looking for, but our server was never where she needed to be and as a result, we wound up with cold food which they couldn't replace without it taking forever. We eventually gave up.
The food was excellent and I was pleased with all of the menu choices and specials. Our service was a bit rough though. When our waiter was present he was pleasant and knowledgeable but it took 20 minutes to even get menus and we had to ask several people for our waiter when it was time for the check. They did seat us at a nice, out of the way table so we could have our business discussions.
Went for my dads birthday! Food was phenomenal. I had the breaded pork chops. There was 13 people and most had some pasta dish which everyone said was great. Two only drawbacks - wine was extremely expensive. For example they had a Cakebread wine for $150. The wine sells at the store for $40. The other drawback was the Calamari. Everything else we all loved! Prices for food were very reasonable.
