Chicago classic! Great service, delicious food with endless pasta and seafood options. Beware of the giant portions, typical of Rosebud restaurants. Been going here for 15 years and Carmine's has never failed me to be an overall wonderful experience.
Nice service people make the difference and our service people were great.
Their is a reason why Carmine’s has been here for 27 years. It delivers. The best Veal Parm in the city. Great professional friendly staff. Manager came by for a visit. I’ll be back!
Amazing food and wine
Disappointing lunch. Being seated in the makeshift dining room in the room used as an outdoor patio under heat lamps was uncomfortable. My kids felt like they were roasting and the temperature wavered between being chilly in some spots and too hot in others.
Food quality was poor. Room was like a loud banquet hall. Servers were nice. Bottle of wine was only good part of the meal.
We sat in the bar the piano music was too much for us. The food reminded me of an Olive Garden, was hoping for something a little higher end for the price.
The service was very good.
Great as always, our go to place for holidays. Extremely busy Saturday night but service was very attentive. Portions are huge, love that I get to have leftovers the next day
Year after year, enjoyed
Too loud with sitting next to live music which was too loud
The food and atmosphere were wonderful
Good. Service was a bit skoe
Food was great! waiter was awesome.
I go to Carmine's every year when in Chicago. One of my favorite places.
Great food, service and menu
Our server, Nick, was the most amazing hospitality professional; he was attentive, engaging and knowledgable. A most enjoyable evening!
Excellent as it has been in the past. Extremely large portions. Quality of food excellent. Because of the size of portions this is not the average cost Italian cuisine. If you know who you are with well enough, sharing plates should be a consideration.
Excellent as always.
First time for sunday brunch , everything was awesome. We will be back.
Our waiter, Fernando, was phenomenal and the food exceeded my expectations.
This was one of the best places that I have ever had dinner at in Chicago! The service was spot on and the food was fantastic. The Burrata Tower was a nice sized app and my dad had the veal parmigiana and he said the only thing better was the veal his mother used to make him.
A true gem in the Gold Coast, solid food and service. We brought our kids and they are always accommodating. We will be back!
Service was very poor. We each had one drink and it 25 minutes before a waiter came back...food was like warm
Great but we were not in the main building and the heat lamps were very hot!
Some of the best, classiest, most accommodating service of any fine dining restaurant I've ever been to. I asked for a table that would accommodate my 88 year old grandparents and their difficulty with hearing and walking, and I also requested a table by the window in honor of their anniversary. I didn't expect them to be able to accommodate all of these requests on a busy Friday night, yet upon arriving and checking in they remembered (and wished) my grandparents a happy anniversary, immediately escorted us to the elevator, and took us right to the most ideal table away from the majority of the noise and right next to the window with the best view in the entire restaurant. Every time we've been here, the willingness and readiness to accommodate my grandparents has been top notch. Oh, and by far the best Italian food in all of Chicago...incredible variety of truly authentic dishes and great waitstaff ready to help you figure out what you would like most. My favorite restaurant in the city and always worth the trip in from the suburbs.
Great Italian food!!
The service was very confusing. We had two waiters who weren’t really communicating- they would come to the table and convey the same information. One was pushy for us to order and other was fine. When we ordered which wasn’t long the food came in less than five minutes. My lasagna was squishy and overcooked. I think the other meals were average.
They sat us by the front window which was very cold and did not make for a pleasant experience. The table rocked and we had to ask twice to have someone fix it. We ordered appetizers and they brought out our salads and appetizers together. Felt very rushed. Nice place and decent food but the service needs a lot of help.
Food was good side dish of meat balls they were hard vesiovio potatoes also were hard. Pasta was excellent service was great.
Great atmosphere, service, heavenly shrimp and other terrific food!! Like area where restaurant is downtown and valet park great even with price!! ENJOYED!!
Our holiday was fantastic. Service was great and the food was exceptional.
They were so nice. The past was perfectly perfect - al dente to another power
Carmine's is a family favorite and we are extremely loyal to this restaurant. The Chicken Vesuvio is mouth-watering and the Steak Velasco is a flavorful stand-out! Service is consistently fantastic. Throughout the entire dining experience my party and I feel like royalty. The location is 2nd to none in Chicago. As a native Chicagoan transplanted to Southern California over 21 years ago, Carmine's is and will always be my "Go-To" when I'm in town.
Great staff and atmosphere. Food was fresh and delicious.
We had reservation for 7:30p. We checked in and waited 30 mins. We had not been notified of a table so we checked in again. We were told we were sent a text message. We never heard it because of all the noise and we were standing 3-4 ft. from the receptionist. We finally were offered a table at the entrance which had 4-5 people standing around waiting for tables. We declined on that table. The next table was at the kitchen area and was so small that we would be lucky if you could fit 2 plates of food. They said they were sorry but never corrected the problem. We walked out and will never come back! They did not care.
Noise level way to loud for conversation of table of seven people. Maybe OK with smaller group. Piano/performer just added more noise than needed. High quality music performance but just added to noise level which did not help. Will definitely come again but will ask for quieter part of restaurant if available.
We had a really great dinner this past weekend! Everything was delicious. I loved that there were so many traditional dishes on the menu. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.
