Candela Cucina is an upscale Italian restaurant from Servedwell Hospitality in the historic Candleworks building. Candela Cucina is not just another Italian American restaurant, Candela is an authentic Italian restaurant. Candela’s menu ranges from classic Italian dishes to innovative contemporary creations, all crafted with the finest ingredients.

This new concept from Servedwell Hospitality is in partnership with Peter Biondi. Pete has opened other Servedwell concepts and has worked at several NYC Michelin-starred restaurants. The menu is crafted and overseen by Chef Josh Riazi. Josh has been overseeing all Servedwell’s culinary development and operations since 2018. Josh has worked in several highly acclaimed restaurants; most notably, Josh was Executive Chef at Al Forno in Providence, RI. Josh is assisted by Chef Joe Melo, a Servedwell alum, who will oversee daily culinary operations at Candela.

    We will definitely be returning on our next trip to New Bedford as this was our favorite restaurant of our trip. The brick chicken and Caico de Pepe pasta were delicious as well as our drinks (two cocktails from the cocktails menu…mine was a butterfly martini). We really enjoyed the fresh ingredients of our entrees …they tasted like they were made with real love of food and ingredients that went well with each other. Jordan was a great server and made sure we had everything we needed but also made sure we weren’t rushed and had a wonderful date night. Plus it’s a nicely decorated and classy atmosphere, which we were really looking for—something beyond the ‘harshly loud casual beach atmosphere’ (and so-so food) we had the nights prior in other area restaurants. Truly a great find — we will definitely be back. Highly recommend if you’re looking for very well prepared food (and a place you can actually talk to each other while eating and drinking).

    Alexis our server was wonderful. Prompt attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. Started with caprese salad. So good and bread brought to table excellent. Dinner linguini and clams and Shrimp scampi very good as was dessert. Will definitely be back

    Atmosphere amazing things, food. Can't say enough. It's a great place to take your girlfriend or wife out for date night or even a family function.

    We loved it. Second visit. Veal chop was recommended and it was fabulous! Service was wonderful and attentive. We will be back!

    This was my 2nd time at Candel Cucina. I can’t rave enough about this place from the food to the service, everything was amazing! The whipped ricotta dip is one with homemade focaccia is to die for! Homemade pistachio ice cream 🤤 I wlll be back again and again!
