Carmelo's Coat of Arms
Classic Italian Restaurant in a fine little town. Wait staff excellent, attentive without being obtrusive, helpful with choices.
We absolutely loved every part of the evening, the calamari salad was incredible and the shrimp pasta did was wonderful our server Diane was a pleasure, we cannot wait to go back!
Delicious food, great drinks, and much improved environment since our last visit.
The food was well presented and very tasty. We split a few orders and they put the items on separate plates, which was appreciated. The food came in a reasonable amount of time. We had the lamb and calamari appatizers, both very well prepared. The main dishes were also excellent as were the deserts. The choices of wine was good. The wait-staff, while friendly, was not that attentive and we did have to request a few items 2-3 times. But, we will go back because the food was excellent
Consistently excellent food and attentive service. Can’t go wrong when you book a reservation at Carmelo’s
One of my favorite places. Excellent food, excellent service, great staff, definitely will be back
A very good dining experience. We enjoyed the food, and our waitress was friendly and competent. However, our drinks were a big disappointment. Three of four of us were unsatisfied with the cocktails we ordered. The Cosmos had too much cranberry and the Moscow Mule tasted nothing like a Moscow Mule should.
New menu items !!! CR chicken made me think I was eating at a Jonathan Waxman Resturant. Lamb ribs are unique, creative and awesome. Bolognese is the dish that will keep you coming back- the best pasta
The waitress was great!!! Diane
Best duck I’ve ever had. Great place!!
Chef/ owner operated restaurant. Carefully crafted food using fresh, quality ingredients. Nice wine and beer list.
This was our second visit. Our waitress Katie was great and very knowledgeable. The food was amazing. I love Italian but could not resist the duck breast and it seriously was one of the best I ever had. My companion had pasta bolognese homemade and perfectly done.
Will be back again. Steak was top notch! Squid ink pasta was also incredible. Waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Carmelo's never disappoints! The duck was amazing, skin was so crispy. And my wife won't stop talking about how delicious her crispy potatoes were! We will definitely be back soon!
Great cuisine prepared with special love. A fine chef. I was with two dear friends and we usually hold hands and offer a prayer before we eat. The really sweet and very competent waitress we had came and added her hands to our circle and prayed with us. Also great hammered copper bar. Do not miss going here
Great fresh unique
The food was outstanding!!!
If we weren’t passing thru town Carmelo’s would be our GO TO restaurant. Definite destination next time we’re in town.
Great food, service and atmosphere. What more would one want?
Best bolognese in the world!
Tasty, fresh ingredients. Perfectly prepared. Menu changes often.
Found restaurant a bit loud, but loved everything else. Beet & ricotta salad outstanding as was shrimp pasta. Will definitely return.
Carmelo's has been our favorite Lewiston restaurant in the ten years we've been visiting the area. The menu is small but varied, and it is obvious the chef takes pride in his creations. Also, it's particularly refreshing to be able to have a dinner conversation in the intimate atmosphere.
Amazing food and menu! Everything was excellent!
Everything was fine (as it always has been) except the room temp - too cold
We are local regulars and Carmello’s is our favorite place. Predominantly a locally sourced menu, house made pastas, outstanding fish and meats. Service is outstanding. We have never had a bad meal here ever.
It was a very nice dinner to celebrate my wife’s birthday.
Carmelo is an innovative chef who continues to raise the bar. It’s hard to believe he’s been running Carmelo’s for 26 years. I was home visiting from NYC. We had a table for two in the back and it was like private dining. The meatballs, squid Ink linguini and short rib were all on point. Carmelo’s is a go to.
This was our second visit and we were not disappointed.
Birthday everything was wonderful! I love this place
Always our go to place for dinner. Food and service are exceptional.
One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in recent memory. 7:45 reservation, we didn’t get sat until 8:45. Couldn’t even wait at the bar because it was so crowded and the bartender was inattentive. There was no hostess and the waitress was picking people randomly for table seating.
The food was good, but honestly there are 100s of places to get good food in WNY. No reason to go back to this place.
At the end of the meal our waitress brought our check then disappeared. I found her sitting at the bar talking with people. When I bought the check up to her she was super condescending and rude.
In summary: lots of waiting, good food, rude waitstaff.
Ohh they did comp us 1 drink.(insert hand jerking motion)
Wonderful evening, great food, good service. One of my favorites! I will be back.
Loved it! Great service and a great meal!
The service was great but the food was really mediocre
Food and service once sat was excellent. However waiting 45 minutes past your reservation time with zero communication from the staff is not a good way to spend your Valentine's Day.
Still, one of my favorite places to go, despite an average night of food.
The bar area was loud. Holiday night, and it was very busy; which added to the wait time which should be expected. (No complaint about that.)
Oddly, compared to years before, dinner was lacking from the normal spectacular flavors I remember. Entree 1 was the Duck, Entree 2 was Pasta with Lamb Ragu
The server was excellent and attentive. Although her assistant with the water pours seemed put out doing her job.
Favorite part -Tarimisu was excellent as was the Carmelos coffee
Lease favorite part- They took away the white tablecloths which led to a wonderfully romantic atmosphere in the past. Now, it reminds me of a country restaurant with hardwood tables
We went for Valentines Day. Made reservations and we were seated right away. Very crowded so noise level was bad. Hard to talk. We have been here numerous times and not had a problem so I’ll blame it on the occasion. Food was excellent, as usual. Great vegetarian selection. Table mate said the crab bisque soap was too salty but edible.
First time there!cant wait to go back. The meatballs were so good and both our dinners were excellent
As always Carmelo has a diverse menu with exquisite attention to detail. Love that he makes his own pasta using unique ingredients.
Always have a great meal at Carmelo's. Interesting combinations, love that local, seasonal foods are a priority helping local farmers.
