The food was excellent and service was great. We received a complimentary wine to try, and that was good too. They also have some of the best crab cakes I’ve eaten. This is a great place to bring a date or a get together with friends.
Excellent food as always. My wife and I were surprised and grateful for the complementary dessert since it was our wedding anniversary.
Service was good as usual. The fish was a little dry but still very tasty. We all enjoyed our meals and will return.
From being greeted with glasses of sparkling Pinot Grigio to the delicious seafood heavy Italian food to the attentive service, my husband and I had a wonderful evening at Carmello’s. I highly recommend for a special night out.
Excellent service and food.
This was I and my wife's 3rd visit to Carmello's. This time it was for my birthday. The service, food and atmosphere are wonderful. Our waiter, Javier, was very attentive without being too much. He recommended an excellent wine. We will definitely be back.
Fantastic atmosphere and perfect for every course. Will be back
Acoustics are loud in the restaurant, but the food is excellent!
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. A little expensive compared to others but worth it for sure.
We truly enjoyed our dinner at Carmello's. Delicious food for a fair value. The customer service was also wonderful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Carmello’s. Great service great food!
We had heard a lot about Carmello's of Old Town Manassas but this was our first visit but definitely will not be our last. The food was outstanding. I had the beet salad, wow, really different and delicious. My husband had the veal and thought it was the best he had ever had!
The small storefront restaurant was quiet even though there were two bands playing right around the corner from the restaurant. It has wood floors and white tablecloths. Just lovely!
We look forward to our next visit.
Our service and dinner at Carmello’s was excellent. Great flavors and presentation. I loved the experience and will be back!
Great Portuguese Italian restaurant. Nicer than most in the area with reasonable prices.
We had a delicious dinner here. It was a special occasion, and we were extremely pleased with the food, the service, and the atmosphere. Would highly recommend it!
We have been to Carmello’s four times now. Although it is a 45 minute drive for us, we always enjoy the excellent food and the friendliness of the restaurant. It was a wonderful discovery for us. Highly recommend.
Awesome as usual.
The 4 of us each ordered something different and each dish was very good.
We had a very nice time - my husband & brother each enjoyed thoroughly a special drink(a mule I believe) from the Father's Day menu - lovely experience all the way around - we each had the cream of asparagus soup - my brother & I had had it before - really great - the size of the shrimp was colossal
Look forward to our next experience
Went for Father’s Day lunch . The service was buffet/brunch style and didn’t offer any of the options from its regular menu. There was no Portuguese food options , and minimal Italian options that we’re poorly executed. Regardless of the day, Carmello’s should stay with it’s portuguese, Italian theme. It’s upsetting that they didn’t stay with their theme as I traveled over 1hr for the experience and didn’t get it. The waiter was friendly and attentive. Only positive.
Good food. Great service. The menu is excellent. Decor is very welcoming.
The food simply could not be any better. Fresh and perfectly prepared. It's a smaller place, so the rooms can be a bit noisy with several ongoing robust table conversations. Service is attentive without being obtrusive. This is our "special event" restaurant for 10-12 years now - never disappointed and it seems to be getting ever better.
Grsat food, great service and great atmosphere. Will definitely recommend and return!
Second time at Carmello's, just as enjoyable as the first. The food is exceptionally well prepared and an eclectic fusion of Italian/Portuguese. Our waiter, Christopher, was quite pleasant with a fun personality - he struck a perfect balance of attentiveness and engaging us in conversation while also allowing us time to enjoy our meal and conversation.
Wonderful! Knowledgeable service. Comfortable and romantic atmosphere. We loved it!
Very nice restaurant in old town Manassas. Great food and wine list. However, if you are expecting a special event, beware that the restaurant may seat a large party in the main dining room (as opposed to their separate dining areas). The noise can be unbearable to the point that you can’t carry on a conversation at the small tables / booths.
Service was excellent, food great . We had a loud person sitting behind us which us not the restaurants fault . Perhaps some soft music would have helped .
Food was great, menu was fantastic, wine list easily one of the best I’ve ever seen. Instead of just listed the wines they have each wine listed with a picture and full description of the wine...amazing! The only critique would be the server, while he was very nice he seemed quite confused the entire evening. Maybe he was new but it did hinder our experience slightly. I will be back for sure.
Noise level was very high but only because of a reserved party happening in one side of the dining area that was partitioned off
We have eaten at Carmello's many times over the past thirty years for special occasions, both before and after the fire forced a major redesign and redecoration eight or nine years ago. The ambience is warm and intimate, the service top notch, and the food so far above average as to put in the top tier of outstanding restaurants. This is a special place and the prices reflect that, but they are in a very comfortable range for the level of quality.
Great food, great service - I will be back for sure.
The Mother’s Day brunch was exceptional! Loved the variety. I enjoyed the fruit platter the most. Can’t wait for the next occasion at Carmello’s!
Chef’s seafood specialty with champagne cream sauce was fabulous.
Started out nicely. Tasty appetizers and salad (spadini, pork belly with polenta, beet salad). Server then disappeared to service large party. Almost two hours before our entrees arrived. Filet mignon was enjoyable. Everything else was pedestrian at best. Portuguese potatoes had no seasoning, simply mushy, fried potato slices. Salmon overcooked and underseasoned. Served with potato-leek cake that was obviously reheated - brown but soft and cold. Duck with blackberries arrived with two blackberries and orzo "with feta" without any feta or seasoning. Chef's special came with overcooked shrimp and heavy cream sauce, not light champagne cream as on menu. As we were contemplating dessert, our server arrived with "gift" of creme brulee. Had two in hand but only left one. Next day, I noticed that the "gift" cost about $10.
It had been years since we’ve dined here, and were in the area so stopped in. They have remodeled the dining room so that all of the tables are tucked back into the space in a closed room with no windows which gave it a very intimate air, however the acoustics were not sufficient to dampen the noise from our fellow diners at tables situated very close together. I hade the veal Marsala which was very tender and the accompanying broccoli I and whipped potatoes were very nice together. My husband had the Chilean sea bass in a sort of Asian French fusion combination that he enjoyed. We will definitely keep this on our list of places to dine in Manassas as the food and service are worth coming back for.
Food was excellent and the service exceptional. Friendly, courteous, and allowing you to eat and enjoy at a leisurely pace.
We always come here on Easter for their brunch buffet. So many choices and the food is outstanding.
The meal was wonderful! The wait staff was very attentive! It was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday!
My wife and I were very impressed with Carmello’s. The food was outstanding! Chris provided superb service- some of the best we had ever had in any restaurant!! Highly recommended!!
Javier, our waiter, was outstanding. The cuisine from appetizer to dessert was amazing. We started with the fois gras app. It was simply divine, like butter served over mushrooms in a light brown sauce. Next, the grilled Romaine Caesars salad with anchovy...delicious. My wife had the lamb chops served with potato gratin and grilled asparagus. I had the Veieras(sp?) a tomato saffron? rice served with lobster meat, grilled scallops and grilled shrimp. Both entrees were delightful. We had coffee with the creme brûlée for dessert. So good and so reasonably priced.
