Good food and great time
Service was amazing. Food was well displayed and very tasty. Portions were good not too much and just enough. Atmosphere is calm and quiet. Good for date night.
The food was amazing. The wine selection was fabulous - we love the thorough description on the menu. We always ask for Javier. He’s a wonderfully attentive server!
Javier was very nice & prompted all night! Thank you Javier 😊
Carmelo’s is a very relaxing location for date night for all. It is romantic, great food and good wine. Highly recommend it.
Excellent food. We live in Burke and made the trek out for our second time there. Excellent all around.
Great experience. Loved the food. We will go back.
Carmello's has survived for decades. We used to love dining here. But the timing & service (however friendly) is off. Either the waiter interrupted us for our order before we were ready or was nowhere to be seen. He did present us with glasses of Portuguese wine (too sweet) for our anniversary. Warm bread & olive tapenade was delicious, and the highlight of our meal. The roasted red pepper soup was delicious but the brie was too sweet w/ honey & small in size. The dish had too many toasts. My paella looked beautiful, arriving under a white porcelain dome. But the half lobster on top had a tiny half tail. I gave hubby my claw. There was no traditional crust on the rice & was filled with shells of clams & mussels. The shrimp were also small. Barry's Bucatini w/ seafood was mostly noodles. We ordered Cappuccino which finally arrived. We did not order dessert because we had been at the table for almost 3 hours. Sad to see this restaurant go downhill (but there were plenty of clients later in the evening!)
Carmello's never disappoints! It has quickly become family tradition to dine there after attending our church’s Christmas Eve service. While only a limited menu is available on Christmas Eve, it is clear that great care was taken to provide dishes to appeal to a variety of tastes and needs. Be aware that seating in Monza can be quite noisy. Should you prefer a quieter dining option, request to be seated in the main dining room.
We have dined at Carmello’s many times- we were disappointed in our dinner on Christmas Eve.
Our meals were not hot- we were served salads before our appetizers-there was no wine list that night-servings were huge- almost too much food-you could tell the staff was overwhelmed.
Overall- not worth the money.
Went for Christmas Eve dinner. Great atmosphere and welcoming, friendly staff. Next time we are out in Manassas we will be there or their sister restaurant!
The food was lovely, but the service was way below expectations. When you are paying more than $30 an entree with white table cloths, etc, you expect some basics to be covered. When we ordered a bottle of Sauvingnon Blanc, our waiter came back to ask if that was red or white?? The family at the table next to us let us know that they received a bottle of red wine after ordering Pinot Grigio. We ordered two appetizers which arrived about 15 minutes apart. When we saw the family next to us with two kids eating plain pasta (and one drinking out of a kids cup from the restaurant, we asked about plain angel hair pasta as a possibility for our son (an angel hair with vegetables and cream sauce was on the menu). After the waiter went back and forth to the kitchen twice, we were told that wasn't an option. Understood, but very odd when you see what the kids next to us were eating/drinking. The same table next to us was then served the wrong desserts TWICE. As we ordered entrees, it was clear our waiter did not know the menu. Everything had to be pointed out to him. For our two kids, we ordered a pasta dish to be split. The waiter even said he would have the kitchen split the dish. It took more than 20 minutes after the delayed appetizers were consumed and cleared for our food to come out. When it did arrive, the pasta dish had not been split. Additionally, our water glasses were not refilled once. The kids were not offered drink refills once as their drinks remained empty. The wine was not presented -- and our glasses were never refilled. I waited tables for many years and give A LOT of leeway to those in the industry but this service was just horribly off. Unfortunate when you look forward to a special Christmas Eve dinner with your family and this is the outcome. There are way too many good options out there to go through this experience.
Great restaurant, a little load with the Christmas party in the separate room. Will be back and the food was very good.
It was a very enjoyable evening and a nice start to our Christmas festivities.
This was mine and my fiancee's first time dining at Carmello's, and we were absolutely blown away by the ambiance, food, and service. Everything was wonderful down to the place settings. Our server was attentive and professional, and our food was absolutely to die for. We will most definitely be returning soon.
Excellent service, Food was plentiful and very well presented. Wine list was addaquete would definately recommend this for a nice night out. We had reservations for 6:30 and ended up the last ones there.
As is the norm for dining here, Carmello's once again provided us with delicious food and drink, and our waitress (Daniella) was superb.
Excellent all around ! Superb food and attentive service without being intrusive. Overall a wonderful experience.
Very good restaurant. Their steak is the best steak that i’ve ever had. Very nice ambience for a romantic evening with my wife.
Excellent service and exceptional food. Very cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend
My first experience of Manassas dining set the bar really high! From the varied delicious menu to the thoughtful service we blinked and three hours later we were enticed in to their delicious desserts and enjoying a impressive wine selection! Will definitely be back.
Everything was excellent and Christopher was a very attentive and friendly host. We look forward to returning again soon.
Very average food, over priced. This used to be a great restaurant, what happened?!
Brendan was our server and he was amazing, kept up with our large group and was fun to chat with. The food was good, and it’s a great location in Old Town Manassas.
Pasta was over cooked
Glad we found this place! Great wine selection very high end wine choices.
Wow. Service was great and food was out of this world!!
We had a wonderful dinner. The food was excellent & the service as well. I will be back!
Food was absolutely excellent. I had the veal scallopini; my wife had the mahi mahi special. Both were well prepared and very tasty.
It was an overall good experience. The food was ok, it was a nice place and the servers were really friendly
Couldn’t ask for better service. Staff was so friendly. Food was delicious and plentiful.
We arrived at prime time on a weeknight. The setting was comfortable and the noise level was not too loud. We greeted and seated promptly, drink orders were taken and delivered. Notably the neat scotch that I ordered was the smallest pour I have seen in awhile, but the price was also low. The menu was interesting and the wine list extensive. The wine list had pics of the labels, a feature I found useful. The bread was freshly baked, warm and delicious. The food was also quite good, although the paella was somewhat different in that the portion of rice was small, and all the clams, mussels, and half of a lobster were still in shells. The shrimp also had shells on the tails. A shell cracker was provided for the lobster. It came with lots of broth, for me more like bouillabaisse than paella. Regardless, the quality was good and I would love to return to sample some other menu items.
Stopped on our way back to DC from Spotsylvania and we were surprised at what a lovely restaurant this was. From the complementary glass of wine, bread and tapenade, to our delicious salads and main courses, we were pleasantly surprised. Service and setting were excellent. Worth a drive for dinner.
This is a quiet, romantic restaurant in the middle of Old Town. The food is excellent. It is a great place for a date or to go before the theatre.
Food was great. Really liked our waiter, Javier!
The waiter forgot a lot including an appetizer and when reminded he blamed it on the person bussing the tables. In addition, to his consistent forgetfulness the service was slow and our dinner took almost 3 hours.
Good dinner with exceptional service. The wine list has improved significantly after having recently been scaled back. Its now back to its original greatness.
The food was great and the service that we received from Javier was impeccable! Thank you Javier for helping me make my wife's birthday a memorable one. The costela de porco was delicious.
Had an enjoyable evening. The food was superb and well prepared in all cases. Two teenage boys in our group complained that portion sizes were too small which indicated to me that the portions were about right. The service was great and since it was a quiet night our server was very attentive. We were dining there after a long absence and were happy to find that everything was as good or better than we remembered. We won't stay away so long this time and will recommend to others.
Spectacular service every time with Phenomenal food!My favorite restaurant!
